hpi 86376 discontinued - Hinge Pin - Need an alternative.
Hi Guys.... i have had one query today... and now i have another
I need hpi 86376 but it has been discontinued!!! AND I CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE SUSPENSION SHAFT 4x50mm http://www.hpieurope.com/graphics/parts/86376/86376.jpg So i desperately need an alternative... SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE ARGHHH thank you |
Does it need to be exactly 50mm (captured)? Does it have to use E-clips?
I'm sure there is something else out there but it would help to know how much room for change there is in the design. |
Thanks for chiming in nitro...
Honestly it is only meant to hold a hub in place. I guess nuts and bolts could be used but i have never seen that... usually C Clips are used arent they. I dont mind if it was a little long by a couple of mm as i could use shims to fill it out??? Thanks |
In that case... http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXAJTU&P=7 ?
|
You could also use a 4mm tube with a long 3mm screw through it. That would have less play in it than a 4mm screw and should be strong enough.
|
Nice idea.. .but they are a little long at 60mm... but could be cut down i guess... but maybe someone can chime in that has similar length pins on their truck/truggy...
THANKS |
Yeah I figured there would be plenty of room for a locking nut, maybe cut off the excess.
No problem, I hope you get it figured out! |
The shorter cen gst 3mm pin work great. It is the upper arm inner pin, holds the upper arm to the shocktower/bulkhead. I will find you a P/n. I had limited success finding the part you listed, but some UK shops did have it a few weeks ago. Google it.

i googled absolutley everywhere with no luck!!! seems out of stock and discontinued...
That cen pin is only 3mm.. .it may cause play in the hub? |
When I bought my Integy rear hub carriers they came with the pins that I think you are talking about.
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXWSY0&P=7 In a kinda freak accident I bent one but Integy support were able to send out replacements to me for small fee. So maybe you could get some that way. |

p/n is gs025, and you will use a m4 thread nyloc nut to retain it. Much better than e clips. http://www.cenracingdirect.com/index...ROD&ProdID=288 The listed specs are 4x56 but the extra length is the threads. I can take a pic for you of this pin installed in the lst hub... |

Second link listed when googled the part number. Looks to be in stock, what truck are they for, Savage? |
Page at that link says
"Temporarily Out of Stock We're sorry but this product is currently unavailable." |

otherwise linc, i like your idea of using the threaded hinge pin... I HATE THOSE DAMN C CLIPS!!! Oh FG... i looked everywhere for this product!!! Just unable to find them ;0 |
That's funny, seriously when I posted that link it showed in stock, guess it's a popular item.
In Australia https://www.frontlinehobbies.com.au/...4X50MM%20SAVAG |
HAHA FG... maybe that is the case...
I also checked the australian site... but they wont ship internationally :( BUT I REALLY APPRECIATE YOU LOOKING !!! THANKS im going to email integy.. .if they can do replacements for a good price, then awesome if not.... I am actually liking the lincs method with the nut system. |
OFN36171 and OFN36640, 4mm hingepins for Ofna LX-One are a possibility. Have to email Nitrohouse to get the lengths. I think 36171 will be too long, but 36640 might be close.
EDIT: Nevermind, found the lengths, one is like 74mm and the shorter one only 38mm. You could use one that is too long, cut one end down to length, and then re-make the slot for the c-clip? Like chuck it into a drill press and use the edge of a fine file. Using a screw is an easier solution I guess. |
You could use stainless rod, cut it 60mm, thread 5mm on each end and use locknuts. Did that with my losi 8t because it would bend the rear outer pins, never bent a stainless one.
