Will run a true test tomorrow that will be the true test. but it went up and down the street like, like, like, i dunno....it WENT FAST! THANKS!

Big Daddy 04.25.2006 12:28 AM

What set up do you have and what truck are you running it in.

neweuser 04.25.2006 12:38 AM

emaxx 9920/10xl 7 cell ib 3800's

Big Daddy 04.25.2006 12:40 AM

Wow that's a pretty sweet setup, are you running 14 cells in parallel? Who makes the motor?

neweuser 04.25.2006 12:55 AM

Yep, parallel, wanderer motor....

Big Daddy 04.25.2006 01:12 AM

O, ok. You will have to let me know how you like with the 14 cells, because I'm thinking about putting that setup in my hpi hellfire.

extremexmods 04.25.2006 01:53 AM

Go to bed now neweuser, you got to go to work, or the girl in your life will get mad and give you some :035: :019: :031: :017: :007: .

neweuser 04.25.2006 09:15 AM

Foresure!

sjcrss 04.25.2006 09:31 AM

glad you got it running ......wait till you get your radio setup....then you can really tweek it...

neweuser 04.25.2006 09:34 AM

I have the JRXS3, not the best, but more complicated than i wanted....still need to play with it i think. the throttle doesn't seem to be full and my steering is slow and sluggish....the book doesn;t really explain what each function does, it just tells you where it is! I wish i could afford a better one like a Futoba or something! Also am not liking my novak receiver as much either!

sjcrss 04.25.2006 09:36 AM

by the way neweuser ....did you get my email on how to setup your radio?...if not I can repost the info here and you can print it out....LMK

sjcrss 04.25.2006 09:37 AM

im sorry you really don't like it.....I really love mine......

neweuser 04.25.2006 10:23 AM

Well, i think it's not that i don't like it....it's a whole new set up for me. The stock and the knob adjusters made it real user friendly. I think once i get the hang of it...it'll be what i want...until then, adjust here, there, zoom zoom! Yes, i get the email and responded...thanks! What set up are you currently runnin?

sjcrss 04.25.2006 10:35 AM

Ive been running the following setup....(which is from a few years back)

1920/8 Lehner the rpm/Per volt is...3919
was a 1895 Micro Bec (fried it..oops...but it lasted 4 years)sent it back to BK they replaced it with the following:...
2095 Micro BEC controller
gearing is 13tp/66t spur
UE 8 spyder diffs
Matched 3300 GP cells (12 in series)

neweuser 04.25.2006 10:41 AM

I would go parrallel with that, cut some wires down. Also, your batteries will make the difference. Have you tried cheapbatterypacks.com? There's another place to that guys go to that i can't remember. But i paid 100+ shipping for mine. Well worth it!!!! If you have the diffs and all that...what the heck, go for it! I plan on going to 16 maybe even 20 cells after i beef my diffs and tranny....do you race?

sjcrss 04.25.2006 11:05 AM

what do you mean by this
Quote:

I would go parrallel with that, cut some wires down.
.....I have (2) 6 cell packs wired in series.....which equals 12 cells...in side/side configuration...in the past I've run (14) & (16) cells....saw some benifit.... but not much.....as is it's hard to keep the front end on the ground...in either gear.......when i went up in cells it was damn near unreal and uncontrollable at times.....I don't race but I have it set up to race...there is a few races going on near me.....the one RC monster is sponsering is only like 3 hours away......I want to go....but it depends on hte finances at the time....I guess time will tell.

neweuser 04.25.2006 11:17 AM

In series, i'm thinking more wires aren't there? What are the benefits to run in series vs parrallel? My batts are designed for the emaxx, so i could put the heavy end up front which will help. Also, if you have a flm chasis or gorilla, the batteries can be flat and even weight?

neweuser 04.25.2006 11:18 AM

That's right, your in NY! I'm way over here in MN!

Big Daddy 04.25.2006 11:29 AM

Having 12 cells wired in series is the same thing as having one battery pack that has 12 cells in it. You can have two 6 cell packs and to wire them in series you take the negative of one pack into the other packs positive, then you wire the extra wire on each pack ( a positive and a negative) to your connector for the speed conroller and voila! you now have the same thing as one big 12 cell pack. It gives you more volts with the same amps.

If you wire them in parallel, it give you the same voltage but twice the amps, (easier to fry expensive controllers)

Hope this helps

sjcrss 04.25.2006 11:39 AM

if my memory serve's me right...paralell will give you longer run times....but less voltage...(ex....(2) 6 cells 3300 gp wired in (p) will be 7.2 v ...but 6600 mah)...where as you take the same (2) 6 cells 3300 Gp wired in (s) it will be 14.4 v but 3300 mah.......the 1st one will give you less Volts...but longer run times.....the secont will give you more Volts...but shorter run times......did I explain it good enough.....also if you were able to see the pics i sent you...I made my own chassis.......if not here is the thread link to pics of my emaxx on the forums here.....

crazyjr 04.25.2006 11:41 AM

If your running the 10XL on parallel packs, wait till you series them up.I have a Novak HV-Maxx and on twelve cells it scares me sometimes

Sylvester 04.25.2006 11:58 AM

I got my 4200's today, i tried it out just on 18/70 gearing and it SCREAMSSSS. This was done in series, on 16 cells, i might have to get an XL somtime soon though, the motor was running hot, but ill just have to see once i get my strobe (16/51)

neweuser 04.25.2006 12:02 PM

Syl, is that the HV? Mine was hot ALL the time...

neweuser 04.25.2006 12:03 PM

nice pics, NICE chasis sj!!!! Nice truck, way better than mine!!! I may go to series wiring...I want more speed!!!!

Sylvester 04.25.2006 12:07 PM

Neweuser, thats with my 10L/9920 combo. It really flies!

neweuser 04.25.2006 12:14 PM

ps big daddy, yes that helped. Definately will reconfigure my wiring!!!!

neweuser 04.25.2006 12:15 PM

Syl, How hot does your system get running that 18/70? I'm gonna be runnin the 16/51 with the strobe

Sylvester 04.25.2006 12:34 PM

The motor is around 130f, too hot to touch, but its because i am geared too low, at top speed i feel as if it can go faster, i dont know if ill be able to handle it! I too, will be geared 16/51. I figured it should be the perfect gearing for my application.

sjcrss 04.25.2006 01:24 PM

neweuser...thanks for the comments...I've been building on it for a few years.....it takes time...I'm sure with time and UHEM ($) it will be the way you like it.....

neweuser 04.25.2006 01:30 PM

Really what i need is: Chasis, diffs, tranny...i should be set.

sjcrss 04.25.2006 01:43 PM

neweuser I sent you a email... about some items I have that might help you out...LMK

neweuser 04.25.2006 02:42 PM

thanks, will checkit out !!

coolhandcountry 04.25.2006 07:42 PM

How did you wire your batteries up newuser? If you wired them parrellal you was only running 7cell voltage. It you wire in series that thing is going to wake up a whole lot. Did you ever get the pics to work?

Big Daddy 04.25.2006 09:23 PM

hey sylvester, what count cells and what type are you running on your truck? Because I have the same motor/controller set up in my savage and I run 14 cells 3000mah. I get pretty good runtime and awesome speed and torque. I just was curious about your setup.

Glad it helped you out neweuser.

neweuser 04.26.2006 09:11 AM

yep, i'm going to probably do the rewiring tonight. I got some help with my radio adjustments and man, it made the difference! Burned my slipper pad though on the side the nut goes on. Probably not tight enough. Coolhand, yes, the pics are on! after an hour and a half!!! LOL

neweuser 04.26.2006 09:12 AM

PS - the system runs smooth. Everything runs real cool after a 10 min run...motor a little warm...but seemed fine...wat to go guys, thans for all the help! Still waiting for my ubec....

sjcrss 04.26.2006 12:43 PM

if the the motor is little warm....pick up one of Mike rc-monster heat sink/clamps or I use a traxxas villian heatsink on my lehner motor and it fits perfectly and helps keep stuff a little cooler. just a suggestion

neweuser 04.26.2006 12:53 PM

Will do, wasn't bad at all but will anyway. I usually run heat sinks....i just got more clutch pads too....3 sets!

coolhandcountry 04.26.2006 02:04 PM

I would get the monster heat sink clamp for I have crashed and knocked a motor to pieces. It messed the windings up in the case. The clamp is cheaper than a new motor.

neweuser 04.26.2006 02:23 PM

true. did you look at the pics?
