New FLM Low CoG Emaxx Chassis
|
Looks like a variation of the Gmaxx to me.
|
I like it!
|
I like it too!!!!

Cool design!
I agree on replace for the Gorilla. I stick with the higher for my project though. Want extra ground clearance. |
sexy, i would buy one for the revo
|
I've been watching for a G4 Chassis to turn up.
This looks BETTER than the G4! I wonder what the maximum size battery this will accept? I like it!!!!! |
There's always the option to improve the looks on that bottom plate. Other than that I like it!

Top plate is 1/8" vs 1/4" on the original chassis. The battery area is scalable - the front stops have a couple rigid location options and the rear stop is secured through slots so the "compartment" can be sized exactly for the batts being used.

But will it accept a pack that is 50mm wide or larger? |
46mm width currently - will suggest a change, though.
|
55mm will be the new battery width. :)
|
That looks really nice. Its also exactly what I wanted to do to my Maxx, lower the battery trays to the bottom of the chassis braces. More ground clearance than a Gorilla, lower cg than stock, best of both worlds. Is it just me or does that motor mount lower the motor too?
|
That's great news Mike! May have to finally finish my build...if I can find all the pieces

Alot of the popular packs are 50mm width. Always found myself modding battery trays to make packs fit. Let me know when the 55mm width is available for you and I'll buy one. Way to go Mike! This is going to be a hit. |
It is likely the 55mm width will be the only one to ship - the chassis are somewhere in the production schedule and I caught Jamie in time to make the live change. The scalable battery setup was my input(Jamie and I often bounce ideas off one another when developing parts).
|
Can someone get a side pic of it?
I like to have a better view. Maybe even a shot from underside too. |

Any one else notice, it looks to have a lot of holes between the holes for the New maxx tranny mounts? looks like you can use the old maxx tranny and adjust it.:mdr: Also with the solid pan, makes it easier to mount Mikes combo motor mount/diff setup |

Actually now I'm in doubt whether you are correct that the old tranny would fit.... But if it is the case, why would FLM build a chassis to fit the old tranny?

Ahh no I now can't decide if I want this or the original flm chassis :gasp:
|
Having a chassis that can fit the old & new tranny wiht no extra work required is brilliant, especially if you have an upgraded 3906 tranny, or no tranny at all & want to keep your option open.
K1RC- I prefer the low-slung style myself, makes the truck more stable, but it does also mean it will dragging it's belly through the grass and dirt if you have the suspension set quite low. Based on that, I'd say for hardcore bashing the original style is better, for less intense driving or onroad/high speed driving the new style is better suited. |
Nice one FLM!
Always loved their products although I haven't owned anything since I built out my original FLM pede. |
Can anybody find out if the chassis fits both the old and the new tranny?

I'm surprised Mike hasn't checked it out, I'm sure he has a couple of the old transmissions that he may could eyeball it and see I have the Fastlane conversion mounts, For putting the new transmission on the new Fastlane updated maxx chassis, before they could retool for the new transmission. I'll have to find them, but it looks close, as far as the spacing between the New transmission mount holes and the holes in the rails. All i'll say for now, is it's possible |

You mean the new tranny on an old chassis :rules:

Not directly compatible with the old tranny - designed for the new tranny just like their other 3905/3908 chassis - just lighter and lower Cg.
|
Thanks for that. Good to know these things when choosing a chassis. :)
|
So when will these be available?
I have a set of FLM Bulks that will go good with this. |
Just ordered mine last friday, change out my other flm chassis.can hardly wait
|
If someone gets one of these please post pics of the end results. A build thread would even be better!!!!
|
I just ordered one too. Couldn't resist.
|
Where are they???

Never mind I see it now. I thought it was going to be in the RCM store. Very tempting for sure. |

I would much rather do business with your store than dealing directly with FastLane. Looks like a birthday purchase for me in Feb. |
