They will be expensive, but that's Kontronik. It would be nice if they went with other color options. Blue would be my pick . The Kosmik will come in 160A and 200A flavors.

Forgot to add the details:

Kontronik Kosmik 200 HV and 160 HV ESCs

The KOSMIK delivers sufficient power for the ambitious pilot at the established KONTRONIK reliability. With continuous current of 200A at 5 S to 14 S LiPo brings every model powerfully in motion. The continuous current is defined for a battery capacity of 10,000 mAh.

With its integrated and adjustable BEC, the KOSMIK even supports HV servos. Different modes for sailplanes, motorplanes, helicopters, boats and RC cars (including back and forth drive) make the KOSMIK flexible for many applications. Apart from a second helicopter mode with fixed RPM a spool up optimized for scale helicopters is implemented. The scope of delivery includes tailor made motor and battery cables as well as one BEC cable. Optionally available are special KOSMIK heat sinks which guarantee the maximum power of this ESC.

BEC:

One important feature of the KOSMIK is the strongest BEC KONTRONIK has ever developed. With a voltage from 5 V up to 8 V and a current capacity of 7 A continuous and up to 20 A peak the KOSMIK is the ESC for the most demanding tasks. Two BEC ports allow for using full current when using the second BEC cable.

Screwed instead of soldered:

No wires. This is maybe the first thing you notice looking at the new KOSMIK. In order to handle the enormous power the KOSMIK is provided with gold tabs instead of the familiar soldered cables. Before usage cables and tabs are connected via screws and cable shoes. This concept makes exchanging cables easy and forms a reliable high current connection.

Data interfaces:

Therefore the KOSMIK, in addition to three connectors for sensors and telemetry, provides a fast micro USB port in order to give out and process operation data.

Mode-Programming:

The well-known and proven KONTRONIK Mode-Programming is also implemented in the KOSMIK. Thus, the ESC is rapidly deployable and can be customized for different applications within the shortest possible time.

PROGDISC Compatible:

The KOSMIK can be parameterized using the KONTRONIK PROGDISC. This allows to change individual parameters and helps to adjust the KOSMIK to your personal preferences.

Online Updatable:

Of course, the KOSMIK is also updatable online. This allows software updates easily set at home. Long downtimes caused by sending and waiting are a thing of the past.

LED:

Equipped with two bi-colored LEDs the KOSMIK offers a wide range of signal outputs. These can be used for both diagnostic purposes, as well as for programming support.

Logger:

As the first KONTRONIK ESC the KOSMIK offers the possibility of recording operating parameters internally. Internal recording delivers more detailed data than an external system could ever supply. With the high recording capacity and speed KONTRONIK delivers state-of-the-art technology.

MicroSD Card:

All recorded data are written on a MicroSD card. This enables a flexible analysis of a great data volume.

He also didn't mention the most important part- it will supposedly be coming out with car software. It will be the ultimate 1/5 controller.

I just edited just for you Harold . Kontronik goes after the aircraft guys, but they know car guys use their products as well .

Bold of you:intello: I just figured some may overlook it.

I need a 10s car controller for my baja. I'd like to see a fighter cat esc actually work.

¿how many $? ......

snellemin 02.18.2012 10:34 PM

Damn!!! Screw on connectors.

snellemin 02.18.2012 10:37 PM

Just saw the pricetag......809 bucks!!

There is a 160A version for a low price of 689.99.

$690-809? FTSITA....

5s lipo is enough for me

x-y 02.19.2012 08:45 PM

amazing low price :P

i love the looks, just thinking about what 14s would do to my losi 5ive-t. hummm, if i scared myself to bad i could use 14s to restart my heart lol.
ok they say bolt on connectors are better than solder but what holds the connector to the wire???? crimp? maybe SOLDER.

Jony Nitro 02.25.2012 01:58 PM

Mm 14s what about a fan?

This is Kontronik we're talking about. The Jive ESCs for example, only needs a heat sink, but that's only for high amp usage. If the Kosmiks are built the same way the Jives are, than they will also only need a heat sink, but I doubt they will. Another example are the Jazz line of ESCs. I have a few and they are solid. I used an old 40A 32 cell version in my heavy truggy and it worked perfectly, but the small cap popped. Put the 55A 32 cell one in and it performed better then most higher amp ESC did. Also as with most Kontronik ESCs, their AMP rating is very conservative.

I would use one for a car project?

Just wait for a few people to try it out first. As we all have seen new ESCs have issues when they are released to the public.

magman 02.26.2012 05:29 PM

Expensive for sure...but if castle ever comes out with a 12s controller imagine the cost. We know the cost of the new one. So I'd bet that a 12s controller would be $550+. Still better that the Kontroniks

I guess this is what I need, any word on it being available for sale?

nl12 09.06.2012 12:06 AM

I'll be on the lookout for one of these, maybe someone will buy one and change their mind so I can pick it up for a deal.

MonsterMaxx 09.16.2012 04:20 PM

Kontronic certainly makes the best heli ESCs. Would love to put one of these 12s controllers in something.

12s rocks in a heli, I can only imagine what it'll do in a truck
