New VBS Chassis & 16mm Racer-X...LQQK!!!
I traded a few things to get this new chassis & suspension, and I think it looks pretty good! Everything is powder-coated cream (white) & black, with a Ti-Ni spur-gear which matches perfectly! I am going to run Ti-Ni hingepins and have the Ti UE CVDs plated in Ti-Ni along with a few other things, so it should look awesome! Plus, I am going to use as much carbon-fiber as I can to match the CF already on the chassis. I am not sure what color I am going to do the VBS in, so, please give me your thoughts! Anyway, here are a few pictures...
...What is the name of this Chassis, and who made it? http://www.raceworkz.com/images/VBS1.jpg http://www.raceworkz.com/images/VBS2.jpg http://www.raceworkz.com/images/RCX1.jpg What do you think? |
Awesome....I like the color combo. Can't wait to see the beauty together.
|
Very nice! That is an Emaxxler chassis. I believe that there are only two or three. No more than four.
You really don't know the name of it? and you own it? |
Haha, I just got it a few days ago, and I had already forgotten the name of it...LOL! Now I remember, Oh well...
|
That Chassis is called the 'e-Maxxler'... it been around for some time now... i first saw it on it the UE forum...
Plettenbergs started making his versions, but stopped I think... see links below... Ue: http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/.../0/blmaxx5.JPG Rc-Monster - MAXXler Prototype: http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/DSC01392.jpg Alien |
Nice!
How does the steering-servo mount? |
|
Cool, thank you...now I gotta mill a servo-mount! ;)
|
Crap, I need a UE GenIV Servo-Saver now!!!!
Oh, and this chassis is the very same chassis that plettenberg had...the one that was used as a prototype for his version! :) |
That is pretty funny that you cannot even remember the name of the chassis and there is a bunch of guys who have been waiting for one of these for years and years now. Then you end up with one of them.....Good score for you!
Do the VBS Black with White support parts. That would look great! |
A rare thing indeed, you'll have fun just staring at it, let alone building & driving it

That is what is so nice about building custom trucks is they look just as good sitting still as they do moving out! This truck here Chad is very nice and you should be proud to own such a rig with it being pretty rare and sought after. I know a lot of people were counting on them coming out but nothing ever happened with it so it looks like you are one of the lucky ones man! I thought for sure some UE members were going to be honored and would of had the opportunity to own one but I was wrong I guess. You should play the lottery....haha..... I hope you keep us updated with the build, I look forward to following the thread. Especially the Ti-Ni parts being done! What color on those are you going with? |
Why would they not make more of these trucks, really awesome rigs. They could make a ton of cash.
|
I was the one that powder coated all of that white.... it is a really nice chassis... good score!
|
Sweet, sweet...heh! You did an awesome job, I really like it!
Yea, I do feel extremely proud and lucky to have gotten this chassis, and it has already risen to the top of my priority list! I can remember years ago seeing it when plett built it, and I wanted it sooo bad, and now I have it! I know it seems crazy that I forgot the name of it, especially since bosox and I sent more than 100 text messages back and forth between each other (I got my UE Widetrack Knuckles from him as well), and talked on the phone many times, but I have so much going on in my life right now (my dad & aunt are both in the hospital, my dad here in Alabama & my aunt in Washington State, so I am in the air flying between states a lot recently and it takes its toll on a human being...plus my own health problems) that my brain is fried! I know one thing, if my health ever gets so bad that I can't do anything with my Supermaxxes & Parts, I am going to give them away to all of you guys (No wishing me bad health, heh)! Anyway, I am having the most trouble deciding between black VBS-T and white Knuckleheads or all-black VBS for this chassis...what do you guys think? I want to build this truck with as many uber-rare parts as possible, since the chassis itself is uber-rare (just 1 I believe), so if you have some of those parts, I will probably be contacting you ( sweet, I need those OG Thin High-Impacts :) , heh)! Ok, imma shut up now, but please feel free to drop some ideas & hints or anything else you may want to say...all will be greatly appreciated!!!! |

I am not sold on the white by any means, never did like it from the get go after Mike built it over on UE. The process is cool and sweet did a killer job on them but White is just....well......like pink.......:sarcastic: haha, just isn't my style. That is what is so cool about customizing these trucks, it is exactly how YOU want it to be. And it doesn't matter what the heck I think about it!! It will look great however you do it still. I was told there was a whole bunch more than just 1. But who knows?? I never saw any of them, only heard stories. |
Yea, I actually thought about stripping it back to aluminum and either building it all silver, or anodizing it black & blue (aka "Bruiser", heh), but I have come to like the white (it's actually a cream or off-white color (sweet, do you have the color-code?).
I am not certain on how many were built, but 1 seems to be the most popular number...I don't know for sure. If anyone has another, please let me know! |
Did you make any progress on getting the truck together yet? It will be cool to see it built up.
|
Nah, not yet...collecting parts and other chassis still! I got an ALL Titanium JER Industries Chassis & HCR Dominator Hybrid w/ Pro-Line Maxx Bulkheads and a JT-Racing Maxx Truggy Conversion Chassis! The JER/HCR Dom will be here Tuesday & the JT-Racing Chassis will be here in about a week!

Got the JER Enterprises/HCR Chassis today...man is it nice, it's all brand-new, but still...it's NICE! All I need now is a DUH Ti Chassis & Parts!

Oh wow, ok...cool!
|
get the duh part now
|
I am working on it...
|
Yeah, I tried to price it VERY reasonably.

PM Sent!

I still wish, very badly, that I had been able to get Hash's DUH Ti Dominator Chassis...after it "sold" the first time, I spent the money, then I found out the buyer backed out, but I just couldn't get the money back together fast enough...I was so sad when it sold to someone else :(
Hell, there's a LOT of DUH parts I REALLY Want/Need!!! |
I have an extended Titanium Dominator around here somewhere - the chassis was made before Duh was around, actually(his chassis was inspired by the chassis I have IIRC). Before truggies were a reality, I used to race it(has proline bulks, Maxx suspension, center diff with rear brakes, etc.) - it is heavy by today's truggy standards, but I won a few races with that beast. The chassis never really even looked like it got used(1/8" titanium is tough).
|
Is it made by JER Industries? If so, it will be milled into the bottom of the chassis, Mike...if not, will you email me some pictures? My email address is (PM Sent)...
|
Look at what I just got :)

:great: That is saaaweeeeet!! :yipi:
|
Wow... that's cool... was this apart of the new production?
Alien |
I don't know. I don't really have much info on it. I was hoping someone on here could tell me more about it.
|
Is that the one mat made? IMHO I think the actual emaxxler chassis looks better, just due to the thinner bottom plate. But I still like that chassis alot.
Where and how did you get it? |
Yes... where and how? so many people wanted those chassis and didn't see them at all... yuh got some good stuff to play with there...
Alien |
Yes, where, how, and how much $?
Without the slipper unit/drive gear all you've got is a paper weight. |

Where: I drove to Matt's house How: I gave him some of this  http://i50.tinypic.com/iq8yu8.jpg Paralyzed: I don't have a slipper unit, but I do have plenty of the shafts. Matt explained the system to me, and being that I'm a manual machinist myself in a shop full of manual machines and CNCs, I shouldn't have a problem coming up with some solutions. I do plan on finishing this chassis myself, but Im not in a rush to do it. I have a few more builds that were schedules before this one. I didn't pick at Matt for the details on the history of this thing. I knew of it, but not the details. I didn't want to be at his house all night long, so he explained what it was, how it should work, and I figured I could go from there and see what I could find in the forums on it. P.S. Matt was a great guy to meet. I got to see his lightening up close and WOW. It now has my paw prints all over it because I had to touch every single part on it for some reason. It was awesome to see. |
Lol, now he has to polish it again. You were the one that bought his gmax. Mind if I ask how much you paid for the red gmaxx? What other parts did you get?
|
I bet those are all one dollar bills. You have to send me that wad of cash to check and make sure those aren't ones.
|
HAHA, I wish those were one dollar bills, then I would have some more spending money in my account. I am the one that bought the Gmaxx, sadly though, I was buying it for a friend of mine that is out of town with work. So I'm only babysitting it until he returns home sometime next week. I won't talk about pricing since I was only the middle man and I don't want to go throwing the real buyer and seller's money business on the forum.
I got a few other parts from him as well. Nothing major, just normal UE parts like servo savers, cvds, few diffs. No racer X or VBS or anything like that. Im not made of money . The stuff I don't keep Im sure the same guy that I bought the Gmaxx for will buy as well. |
