I just realized that I had not been here in a while...

So I logged in a saw that my last login was march of last year...

Time flies. I turn 39 in a few weeks. Started doing rc when I was 25. Those were great days, well before real responsibility had hit.

Who else is still here?

Please post and let me know if you stop by.

Always good to hear from old friends, hope that you are all doing well!

bruce750i 04.30.2019 01:42 PM

Crazy you just checked in yesterday. 1/3/18 was the last time for me.

Traxxas is running a discount on E-Revo's!!!! It made me think back.

snellemin 05.03.2019 12:06 PM

I snap. I too haven't been here in a while.

Serum 05.23.2019 06:37 AM

Same here. Was just checking the brushless serpent. Trip through memory lane. Turning 43 this Saturday.

We where never friends, but that was totally your fault.. Kidding. I remember you appreciate a poor sense of humor.

snellemin 05.23.2019 09:03 AM

I have a few RC stuff left. Lost almost all my belongings in 2017 Houston massive flood. We went through hard times for a long time, but all that is behind us. I'm into portable audio now. My oldest is into robotics and my youngest has been asking for a offroad RC. And that is why I came back to this site. This site brings so many memories off all the goofiness that went on here on the forums.

Serum 05.23.2019 03:40 PM

Hey! nice to see you! Sorry to hear about your losses in 2017. Can't begin to imagine what that all does with you and your family. Portable audio? I'm into audio too, (and product design, CNC machining, carpentry).. but the audio, not really portable. It felt like visiting an abandon place this afternoon. It sure was a vivid environment. It sure had a good atmosphere.

jhautz 06.25.2019 11:00 PM

Geez, I just logged in and its been a few days short of a year since I checked in. Miss the days that I had time to mess with RC and following all the amazing projects that were posted here. Another 6-7 years and I can retire and I'll have all kinds of time then. LOL.

Hope everyone old and new are dong well.

rhylsadar 07.23.2019 04:09 AM

hi guys,

many rc forums share the same fate. our own forum (rc indepenent is closed by now. sad but true).

however i for myself i am still fully into rc (maybe more crazy than ever! :-)).
started this hobby at the age of around 10 (first kit was a marui big bear) and it never left me.... thats now over three decades.

bye now i am more into racing at the track (8th scale offroad buggies and truggies) than bashing monster trucks. but all those savages, maxxs etc are still here. of course there is also an x maxx in my rc garage.

keep going! this hobby is so much fun and independent of age. i really like it.

bye,
rhylsadar

Holy crap. Bunch of foggy memories arising in my brain

Dafni 07.30.2019 09:47 AM

Hey guys!

Nice to see you again. It's been a while. Way too long actually.

I'm still around, doing my thing, but I sure miss the good old monster days.

captain harlock 08.07.2019 02:55 PM

Yeah, me too......Speak of collective thought.

lutach 08.08.2019 11:24 PM

Bunch of old farts :diablo::diablo::diablo:. Going through all my items now, can't believe how many one of a kind things I actually have. I wish I had my lipos around to take a few R/Cs on some high speed runs. I do check the forum from time to time, but hardly log in. Hope you all have fun.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, so true, I do appreciate a poor sense of humor. I would prefer a good sense of humor, but I know that you are European so i will take what I can get!!!! Beggars can't be choosers.

Great to see so many of the OG member are still kicking! I keep saying that I will get back into rc and I keep getting sidetracked with daily life and all of the constant maintenance that my life appears to need...

Hope everyone out there is having a good day.

BP-Revo 09.30.2019 03:35 AM

Just checking in...started digging out the RC stuff. It's taking up a bunch of my room and I want to use it!

Just ordered one of the new Traxxas G63 6x6's...will try out this scale crawling and see what it's about.

Good to see some of you guys are sort of still around.

A lot of old "faces" here...

rawfuls 12.21.2019 04:06 AM

Going to join this necro-post.
Not sure if anyone remembers me, I was mostly a lurker.

Wanted to say that I'm graduated undergrad and will be going back for grad school. Studied engineering, ended up with a degree in business.

A lot of the banter that happened here taught me _so_ much information about circuits, electronics; loved it.
Read about Harold's passing and that hit hard; he was such a big part of this forum way back when.

Hope all is well with everyone else!

coolhandcountry 12.24.2019 08:39 AM

I decided to come by and check on everyone.
I not sure last check in but dang it has been a bit.
I still got lots of RC stuff myself.
On a side note
Merry Christmas all!

stampy 01.25.2020 04:23 AM

last post was 2015:whistle:

Rawbuns!!!

Dude, you got old. I can remember when you had your rc learners permit, and could not run without a licensed rc-er. The old days. Good times. Congrats on graduating, never managed to do that myself. Went for mech engineering and ended up fixing crashed cars for a living....

Arct1k 02.04.2020 09:23 PM

A trip down memory lane. I just bought new lipos to get stufff moving again.

I got busy on the slow stuff, a lots of travel with the family to fa away lands and now started playing on full size toys:

Project 1 : Mike helped with making the fender mounts - ended up being too fast and loud (aka wife hated it)

Project 2 : German classic which turned 50 this year

Just signed back in after YEARS.

I still have my E-revo with the Kershaw Designs 1/5 scale conversion and FPV camera/goggles.

25 years old now (Man was I young when I joined!)

Time to get back...

Hello friends!
It's been sometime, I am looking to get back into RC (2nd attempt, as per my son's request now :) )

I am totally lost with all new toys, where we are with brushless power nowadays? I am thinking about getting a 1/10 E-Revo/E-Maxx any good advice or should I get conversion kit rightaway?

Looks like ESC/Motors are not as pricey as they used to be, just recalling Lehner/Plettenbergs...

With Regards,
-Artur

Nice to see you man.

So cool for you to have a track nearby. Honestly the absolute lack of tracks locally made it hard for me to maintain interest. The only times I ever drove on tracks was when I traveled to other countries.

Have fun man, all the best!

Wow. I remember talking back and forth about projects years ago. Good days. My last login was 2015. Turn 44 next week. Don't own an RC car today, but still have all my old tools and various parts. Sometimes dream of buying and building another 1/5 scale but, like you say, responsibilities. Now spending money on an old '88 Lincoln Town Car. A different kind of fun. A new chapter.

LiqrSicc 03.02.2021 04:24 AM

My last post was 10 years ago and I probably haven't logged in for at least 6 years! A lot of familiar names here. I'm turning 43 and still into RC off and on. Leaving the sig, even though I own none of those anymore.

Urgeoner 04.10.2021 12:39 AM

Hello Hello Hello! Been about 10 years since I've been on here! I remember lots o' you fools!! Gettin back into it, although mostly vintage Tamiya/Kyosho stuff!

mikey09120 07.22.2021 11:57 AM
