Feigao Speeds?

Just intrested for those who have a B/L system to say what speeds you get with:

Motor
ESC
Batteries
Gear Ratio

...at a stable temperature?

Thanks,
Nick.

I've made a 40 mph run (checked on gps) on 14 gp3300 cells,a feigao 9L and a schulze 18.97 . gearing 16/70 bowties. temps are fine on the motor with a fan in the summer.

Phil, did you test that motor in the rustler?

phildogg 03.23.2005 10:31 AM

no it is in my E-maxx. I had the 8s and 9918 in the rusty. why?

Just curius.

supermaxx4190 03.26.2005 03:37 PM

ive hit about 35 with 16/66 gearing with an 8L on 12 cells and 9918. the controller was barely even warm.

820maxx 03.26.2005 05:45 PM

mid 40's to upper 40's with an 8xl and 9918 with 24/64 gearing controller was cool but im have a fan on it ,with 16 cell have run 18 but u cant control it so i dont have an est on 18

whats up with some of these speeds...they seem a bit slow. i mean 12 cells in a mf1 and you are only getting 32mph???

I havent run my mgm yet, but with the novak 5800, 23/87 gearing, and 7 cells, i am hitting 52mph under test conditions ( on a stand) using the eagletree data system to measure. I realize i will loose some when running on the ground, but even with those losses, i will still be mid-40's.
So i ask again, why are some of the speeds kinda low?

Quebecois_Sti 04.11.2005 07:23 AM

i don't think that you have 52mph with the novak, I saw a novak setup last summer and it like a 19t chameleon and maybe a 15-16turns motor. the speed on the ground its not the same, find a gps and put it on.

for the speed with my 12cells its because the cells are not matched, for competition, there are cheap one. i paid something like 60$US for 4 packs. with GP3300 you will get over 40mph.

Nick 04.11.2005 02:40 PM

What run times do you get with these Feiago set ups? Intrested mostly in 9L/10L motors...

sleepy23 04.11.2005 07:24 PM

personally i think gps in inaccurate cuz you have to carry the weight of the system. second, i never said that it wasnt overgeared and i did say it was on a stand. once you figure in losses, it is still at mid 40's. my eagletree is setup based on the gear ratios and tire diameters, its not based on measured rollout, so i feel pretty confident that it is accurate.

gixxer 04.11.2005 08:36 PM

i have a novak and i would be surprised if you could get 40 out of it with 7 cells.

sleepy23 04.11.2005 09:31 PM

i am just telling you what the system says. everything is calculated based on the spur, pinion, and tire diameter you type in and the the signal from the sensor. i know how to type in numbers and i have digital calipers to measure diameter, so i post what it tells me, until someone with the Exact same truck does a run and posts a different speed, i do believe mine stands. i also am talking about straightline speed on road with a highly modified truck and a one of a kind custom tranny.

gixxer 04.11.2005 10:44 PM

what the system says is fine. getting your motor to actually pull that gearing is the problem. i had a t4 with the novak 5800 and it was not even close to those speeds. i would say 37-38 on 7 cells. http://www.teamnovak.com/Download/ac...pecgearing.pdf look at the bottom, also that is based on 6 cells, for 7 you should gear even lower.

sleepy23 04.11.2005 11:07 PM

i took the truck out with gearing that pulled 48mph and it ran like mad. i didnt have my recorder in it to check the speed, but i guess it doesnt matter much now as i will be putting my new system in and see how fast it will run.

Dafni 04.12.2005 02:21 AM

Okay, here are my Revos numbers:

Motor: Feigao 9L
ESC: BK 9918
Cells: 14 GP
Spur: 66
Pinion: 16
Tranny: EMaxx
Diffs: Revo (same reduction as Maxx)
Wheels: Maxx sized

Guesstimated speeds:

1st gear: A bit more than 20mph
2nd gear: A bit less than 40 mph. But more than 35, I think.

Sorry for the inaccurate speeds. I have no possibility of measuring accurately. But I think those are good guesses.

The temps are fine, I still think I could add a tooth or two on the pinion.
