Tnx
HI,Guys and Girls,Just like to hear from you on what you have done to you'r TNX ?
What HOPUPS would you like to see? |
I have installed universals on the front axles, aluminum chassis braces and hinge pin braces, aluminum steering draglinks, revo wheels with modified bowties. What hop-ups would you like to see?
|
Hi, Mike I have put on you'r Aluminum Chassis Braceon. I have Piggy back MSR5 shocks with 50 oil. I also have a Nw Era Racing Big Tube Header,MGT Pipe and and O.S. .18CV-RX Engine.I just got Pro-line Velocity 6 offset wheels.I am still out on witch tires to go with ( Pro-line maxx masher, Losi zombie-maxx ,Imex dirt dawg, trail dawg).I would like to know how the imex savage 7301 pipe would be compair to the MGT pipe for power.Any info would be great!!
Thank you, Daniel Murray |
I haven't used any of those pipes. the Zombie maxx tires are nice. It is a tough call between those and the mashers. They hook up pretty well and look cool. For the shocks, I would use the single hole pistons and 80-100 weight oil for more dampening. The shocks are super smooth, but the piston holes are large and need heavy oil for good dampening. I have the same motor in a t-maxx, with the THS pipe. The stock motor is still in my TNX. I have no complaints with the original motor at all.
|
Hi,How do you like you'r THS pipe ? I am looking to get the most out of my truck ! Did you see any improvement with the THS pipe and if so where ?
They say That MGT pipe is tune ? but I can not see how when it is Hollow inside! Hope you can help me out? Thank you |

Thank you, Daniel Murray:confused: |
I like the THS pipe. I use it on my t-maxx with the O.S .18 motor. I haven't tried other pipes on this particular motor, so I can't make a real comparison. the motor and pipe combo runs like hell, though!
I think you will want to go with heavier oil and single hole pistons even with the dual rate springs. The springs only effect how quickly the shocks rebound and the ride height to a degree, all in relation to the dampening level provided by the shocks. Try the 70 weight and see what you think. Everybody will have their own preferences with this stuff. Also, sorry it took so long to reply. Iactually replied a couple days ago, but my computer crashed before the post made the board and I forgot to come back to re-post it. |
Hi, I have put 70wt. shock oil in my MSR5 shocks. I have notice that my shocks do not rebound back all the way up when I push on the truck.Compare to when I had 50wt.shock oil. I did put the dual rate springs on and and they help. But in all my truck is lot better than when I had the stock MSR5 springs on.Much better than my stock shocks.
Is this normal!!! |
Dan,
You will find that the truck handles much better if the shocks don't rebound all the way to full extension. It is a good thing! I run my trucks with the a-arms just about level. This allows the suspension to dip into a rut or absorb a bump without upsetting the chassis. Perfectly normal. |
Thank you :D
|
My pleasure.
|
I bought my TNX from Mike, then I bought the tires from RD-Logics that are similar to Bow-ties. I have a fail-safe and a venom heat meater thing. I am planing on getting the aluminum universals, chasie brace, and a new cooling head because i have lost the first layer of fins on the original head.
|
That is why O.S has put a heavy duty new head on the motor for the TNX.Check this out
http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/ite...duct-id=43508X This is the new Pro TNX |
Thanks for the link, looks like a nice cooling head. Kind of makes me wish I had waited and bought the PRO TNX.
|
That cooling head is from an O.S. .18CV-R engine.Go look at my truck in the Gallery IT is under Daniel Murray.
You can do the hop ups as you go.Also talk to Mike from RC Monster he is geat to deal with!!! He will help you get your truck how you want it.:D |
I looked at ur truck and It is nice. One of the few TNX's that I have seen that is not stock. You said that you put an MGT fuel tank in ur truck, Why? Does the MGT fuel tank hold more?
|
The tamiya tank leaks air sometimes and the truck stalls pretty quickly when turned over. The MGT tank has a dual fuel pickup, which allows it to run even upside down. I have thought about doing this myself.
|
The Nice thing is when it is turn over that it dose not stall with dual pick ups.You will have to move the throttle servo a bot 1/4" toeds the front of the truck. and drill some new holes.super simple.
|
My TNX always stalls when I flip and it gets pritty anoying while your racing. Ill have to try puting a MGT tank in. Does it hold the same amount of fuel as the TNX tank?
|
I think it is the same or slightly more.
|
No they are both 150CC fuel tanks.
|
So it's the same. I knew they were close. I will likely do this on my truck before the upcoming season.
|
I wish I could do this to my truck befor the upcoming season but I have no job and Im strugling to keep my Losi running the point series. I need muhco $$$
|
Wecome to Living in NJ the State that kills us in TAXES and they keep Taking our Money.
|
Taxes can't take my money cause I dont have any and I won't really have money for a year, then im 16 and I can get my working papers. Then I can start upgrading my trucks
|
HE Look at it this way.I am 33 with a mortgage , car payment , insurance on house , car , truck, 3 year old son who I love, and due on 3/17/2005 a little girl. That just the start of it.
Here is a way to make some money. #1 when it snows go out and shovel snow. #2 Sell your old RC parts on ebay or at the track. #3 Clean the hole house and see if you we get paid. #4 Do odd Jobs for people. Tis is some ways to make CASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tis is wat I did when I was your age. #5 in the summer cut Grass. Do you need more Than one Truck. All you need is a Tamiya TNX:D #6 Sell your outher Trucks:confused:  :D :L: |
I have 4 trucks and I love 3 of them. I would only sell my Cen FunFactor but I could only make like 25$ off of it. Im looking into a summer job and I have tryed #1 #3 and #4 and I manage to race every weekend. If I can keep it up untill the summer than I should be set because I dont spend money on anything else but RC cars. Thanks for the tips

Any Time :D
