New Lehner Basic XXL Motor?
Just saw this on the Lehner Website. Not sure if its news or not. Got my attention though. Could this be the ''In Between'' the 19 series and the Feigao motors so many (well at least I have) have been wondering about?
Not much info posted. Just this: Currently under development: The new BASIC XXL motor. Scheduled release in september. http://www.lehner-motoren.com/index.php?la=en Anyway.... It got my attention. |
That's good news,i think they'll be very popular, the quality is every bit as good as 19series,only the non segmented magnets is the main difference.
should be a nice motor for the monster truck segment. the basic xl is just a tad on the small side and the 19 series is almost overkill for all except those who have a very high budget. I'm hoping they fall in the same price range as the basic xl's. I would be willing to spend $160 - $175 for the quality of a lehner. 300+ is a bit much for me to spend on a 19series.
well.. it's 150 Euro's.. that's not too bad at all....
And its made in Germany...

No i think lehner had done really a good job to get a good name in the rc-community.. |
They sure did Maxxler. I personally think their prices are a tad too high though.
Yeah the prices show their self-confidence...
I think there prices for the Basics aren't bad considering the quality...
I think they are high. considering they don't use segmented magnets. For that price they should have segmented magnets.
They could've used segmented magnets.. but 2000 watts from 265 grams is pretty amazing....
Has any one tested the xxl motors out yet?
I think I'ma get one as soon as I can afford it...Try it out...Thats pretty impressive...The XL motors aren't even 2000 watts.
They seem to be missing a good 4s or 12 cell wind in the XXLs? 3000kv is to much for 4s and 1800kv is probably better for 5s.
Really big oversight IMO |
Not really...The XL3100 is a typical motor for 12 cells or 4S, so I would guess the XXL3000 is ok...
Wouldn't that be over the 35-40K rpm window?
Yea, it would be....If thats what your shooting for, then I guess there isn't many options...
It sounds like a cheaper version of the 1940.
Anyone seen an XXL yet? Iam still interested. They were supposed to be available in Sept. Just cant find any updated info.
Are they available yet? I'm interested in getting my hands on an XXL1800 to try out on 5s in a 1/8 buggy. Can Mike get these for us? |
Drop mike an email. I sure he can if avilible.
I asked mike for you and he said yes. Just let him know the wind you want.
Sweet. Thanks. I just sent Mike an Email.
You think this would be a good motor for a 8.5 lb buggy? Seems to me like it would be a pretty nice size for this application. |
So what are these like in comparision to the Wanderer/Feigao XL cans?
I would think they be a nice motor. I think they are close to the size of a 1940.
Just a little cheaper. |
that would nice. Jhautz, let us know when you get one to how it performs.
Why don't you get the Neu with the smooth can? segmented rotor..
Would the RC-M motor heatsink fit the smooth Neu can?
if the diameter of the Neu can is 36m, then yes.
Does anyone have the dimensions of the NEU?
next to area 51, that's one of the best kept secrets..

ooops...messed up...darnit
The dimension of the Neu is 1.56 inches Dia. It says it right on the website.
Its basically a 40mm case. EDIT: Correction 39.5mm dia. http://www.neumotors.com/neu1500.html Quote:

the neu smooth can is to fat. I have a smoothy and it won't work.
If you want a heat sink on the Neu, just get the ribbed can. Works better than an add on heat sink cuz it integrated and weighs less than teh add on heat sink. Plus it doesn't cost an extra $25 for the heatsink.
Yes, i agree, the machined ribs are a better heat sink..
I personally don't see the advantage of an XXL over a Wanderer L can. (except for the screwed end bells) |
