which one would you make brushless?

No pics of the E-Maxx(everyone know what a Stock E-Maxx looks like)

squeeforever 08.02.2006 06:43 PM

I would choose the Maxx.

pcnutz 08.02.2006 07:55 PM

I would make a e-mgt, tired of 1400 maxxes

cemetery gates 08.02.2006 07:57 PM

the MGT is much stronger in stock form IMO.

farmer 08.02.2006 08:24 PM

I made it today had to take the trans out of my E-Maxx, so I need a E-Maxx trans for it.
I need to put some batterys on it,

I like it, It was not had to put the E-maxx trans in it.

in your case would choose the gt because its only benifit, you dont have to have the g-maxx for more cell room, so part of the gt lets you have 7+ cells side by-side.

But personally, i have the g-maxx so i would go with the e-maxx.

I would go mgt. It has the good diffs in it so no upgrades. It has cvds in it so no upgrades. Put the steel idlers in the emaxx tranny and you ready. You may have to get a little stiffer springs for shocks. I have did two so far. I like them both. One is my brothers now.

farmer 08.03.2006 05:10 PM

coolhandcountry, got any pics of you MGT?

Rtsbasic 08.03.2006 05:29 PM

Whats performance like in an E-MGT compared to an Emaxx on the same power? I'd imagine quite a bit more sluggish thanks to the extra weight.

If I had the choice out of the two I'd go for the E-MGT, and run 14 cells. Simply because it needs less upgrading than an Emaxx and should be stronger. Plus its bigger :)

farmer 08.03.2006 06:40 PM

I think it will be sluggish as well, but I don't know.
I order the parts to make the E-MAXX trans today.

coolhandcountry 08.03.2006 09:19 PM

I can get a weight on the mgt. I run 16 cells on mine. If you go with the gmaxx carbon fiber battery hold down. You can go 16 cells as well. I modded mine out and put a gmaxx bottom plate on it to lower the cog. I have a thread on it around here. It is in the general electric cause it started with titans on it. The mgt looses some weight with nitro lost. It gains some from batteries. I was thinking of selling my gmaxx to get another mgt to play with.
I got 12.5 lbs rtr with with 16 ib 3800 cells on it two speed tranny. It will wheelie on command if gets traction. I am still playing with my shock setup at the moment.

Superbasher 08.04.2006 01:38 PM

i'd say E MGT.

farmer 08.04.2006 04:21 PM

I think am going to make the MGT brushless, and run 14 or 16 cells.

coolhandcountry what Motor and all was you runing in your MGT, and how did it run? would it run with nitro trucks at a track?

coolhandcountry 08.04.2006 04:26 PM

I have run a 9xl and now a 1950 8t with schulze 18.97. I don't race. It handles great though. I am pretty happy with it. I may see about a video this weekend if I can.

farmer 08.04.2006 04:57 PM

I was thinking about a Wanderer 9XL and a Warrior 9920, will this run with nitro trucks? How many cells should I run? (I will be runing no more than 16 cells)

Rtsbasic 08.04.2006 05:07 PM

I have a Feigao 9XL & 9920 combo in my Emaxx, which is only 1lb or so lighter than an MGT I think, and it flies. It delivers an impressive amount of torque on just 12 cells, but on 16 cells it delivers very nice power and a decent top end too. Runtimes aren't too bad either, if you went with a hotter wind like a 7XL you would have less runtime and more heat.

farmer 08.04.2006 05:43 PM

Rtsbasic I take it you can, but can you run with nitro monster trucks?

squeeforever 08.04.2006 05:46 PM

I run a 10XL on 16 cells and have no problem smoking nitros.... A HV-Maxx can even keep up with nitros...Basically any BL setup could keep up with a nitro.

Superbasher 08.04.2006 05:50 PM

farmer-i would reccomend you go with a quark controller, as there supposed to be better and smoother

farmer 08.04.2006 06:32 PM

quark controller, I will take look at them.

The new HV-Maxx 4.5, anyone know how many cells you can run?

squeeforever 08.04.2006 06:51 PM

14. Same as the original.

Rtsbasic 08.04.2006 06:51 PM

I have no trouble smoking nitro's, even on 12 cells it will outaccelerate any I've raced, but will often top out eariler if theres enough space for them to eventually wind up into the 40's. On 16 cells, I would be curious to see what sort of nitro engine it takes to match it, because I've not gone against a nitro truck that can yet.

squeeforever 08.04.2006 06:55 PM

There isn't a single nitro that can match a good BL setup...
