Graupner has got a nice LVC!
1 Attachment(s)
this low voltage cutoff does what it should do;
it monitors the individual cell voltage. it's the Graupner 6495 here is the manual. |
Wow, that IS a nice LVC! It can take two separate packs at once... Only problem is that for use who don't speak (German?) we can't read the manual.
Any ideas on the price of this awesome LVC? |
That is pretty nice.
I think it's an easier read from page 4 Metal.. (at least, till the french part)
Only thing i dislike about it, is that you need to plug it in, every time you drive.. Doesn't help for a clean wire job. Would be a reason for Daf not to buy.. :) I just picked up a balancer from them at my lhs, my criterea was to get one that charged thru the main wires and balance over the tabs. I measured a difference (as expected) on the charger leads and on the lipo tabs. when the charger leads are 4.2V per cel (12.6 on a 3S pack) the individual cells are 4.12V each.. i hope this balancer gets them full.. |
That's better :) (didn't see it before). Do you have any idea on the price of this unit? The only thing I see wrong with it is that you have to use that particular style of taps (although it is somewhat popular) or else you have to use an adapter.
Would you have to use an extension any way? I wouldn't think the plug for the taps would be that long.
It depends on how your batteries are set up. In some cases you might need an extension, and using an adapter for that purpose would be very suitable.
Price is about 25-30 dollars here.
That's about what other LVC devices cost, so with this one you get more for your money!
This thing looks really sweet. From what I can tell it should work with either parallel or series battery configurations. The only think I would wish for was a programmable cut off voltage. for those of us who don't want to cut it all the way down to 2.5v. I would prefer to be able to program it to cut a 2.7v just to be safe.
But I gotta say... its the best one yet IMO. anyone know where to get one of these state side???? |
It has got a 3V cutoff allready. that 2.5 is with dean cells, when it reaches 2.5 it cuts off. With 3V it throttles down.
Where can you purchase these?
Dimension engineering has got an even better one!
you cen set the cut-off voltage for the cells. here it is. |
cool, thanks, I'll have to bookmark that one and keep it in mind for when i go lipo....very cool
That's an awesome little device.... I think I already have too much crap hooked up in my cars though.
Some of the things with wires, that COULD all be installed at the same time: 2 lipo packs motor speedo servo reciever ubec personal transponder (racing) fans spektrum telemetry system and/or eagletree data recorder AND now... LVC device And a GPS unit stuck inside too.. Looks like the inside of a computer :D |
The crap that is needed to keep the crap going..
I bought their liposhield. |
Yup.. I edited my post to add a couple things I forgot. ha ha ha
Yeah, it's the easiest to make your controller/ubec/fans/LVC one device.
The Ubec/controller/lvc can combine the receiver wire. (it's not the 6V voltage that drops when the LVC 'kicks' in. the output of the ubec can be used to power 5/6V fans, and the input leads of the speedo can be used to take the measuring voltage from the LVC. that's what i thought about doing.. But you don't want to void any warranty, right?! The gps is unneeded, since you got a GPS for your eagletree.. (not for the micro, though) |
i noticed that when you go lipo...the mess of wires just increases.....hard to keep it clean looking
You can do, as i described in my post.. it will be clean.
i'll have to give that a try when i go lipo..thanks for the info serum...
You can do it without the LVC, works too..
Sorry my stupid questions, but what is LVC and what it's doing:007: ? Can I use UBEC and LVC same time in car?
read the sticky in the brushless section. (some information about brushless in general) And yes, you can use both at the same time.
