My next "project"

Well guys....I broke down and sold my LSP-R and bought this. I have always wanted one and one finally came up on the chopping block...I was gonna convert mine...But I could never do something like this and it would make a much better racer than if I was to convert one. I plan on going with a Feigao 9XL C motor, 9920, and 6S 8000mah LiPo's. Tell me what ya think.

BrianG 09.02.2006 01:28 PM

Wow, that's purrty. :) With something that nice, I'd go with high-end components: LMT/Neu motor, Quark ESC, etc...

coolhandcountry 09.02.2006 01:34 PM

Put your 10xl on it for 6s lipo. That is my suggestion.

squeeforever 09.02.2006 01:39 PM

Yea, I was gonna try the 10XL first. Brain, I would go with stuff like that, but I can't afford it and I already have the 9920 (and a 7020 in the E-Revo) and a 10XL. I can get another motor for it or the E-Revo depending on the performance of it in each.

BrianG 09.02.2006 01:48 PM

Yeah, that money thing is a killer. :frown:

squeeforever 09.02.2006 01:49 PM

Anybody wanna fund a Neu motor and a 24160 :D.

BrianG 09.02.2006 01:51 PM

Maybe Mike will sponser you? It's worth a try. :005: :027:

coolhandcountry 09.02.2006 02:07 PM

I wouldn't mind funding for the neu and 24160. It just wouldn't be for you squee.

squeeforever 09.02.2006 02:09 PM

Geez...Thanks Leroy :frown:.

sjcrss 09.02.2006 02:28 PM

I remember that truck, it was to be released and never was, much like the Ue razorback...that still isn't even to this day...great find and what a steal.....looks like fun squee....congrats on it...

squeeforever 09.02.2006 03:03 PM

Thanks. If you E-mail BPP you should be able to get one of these chassis if you really wanted one. Just cost about double what I payed if you don't have an LSP. They were actually gonna make me one, but I had second thoughts on the price and whatnot.

sjcrss 09.02.2006 03:39 PM

that nice to know.....but right now im in hte middle of working on my gmaxx chassis, and whe nthe slipperential comes out, I'm gonna grab one of those up as well

Re~Mix 09.02.2006 07:31 PM

I believe Jeremy (bpp co owner) is selling one of his personal trucks over on rccaraction for about that price. These trucks are the ultimate brushless truck period (with the exception of some emaxxes, and dafnis revo)

cemetery gates 09.02.2006 07:34 PM

just to let everyone know, there is a nother BPP truck for sale at RCZ

http://forums.radiocontrolzone.com/s...d.php?t=224879

congrats on your purchase squee!!!...............

Mike.L 09.02.2006 07:35 PM

thats sweet squee nice buy!!! this project will be fun to read looking forward to it:)

squeeforever 09.02.2006 07:36 PM

Thanks! Yea, I was actually gonna buy his because I figured the one I bought would go to high....But it didn't fortunately. I honestly think mine was a better buy than the other since the other doesn't have aluminum arms, CF chassis, 2 sets of tires, wing, and 7075 aluminum knuckles (the 7075 ones are 10x more. No joke. 5 bucks vs. 50)

neweuser 09.03.2006 12:12 AM

Nice Squee, i'll trade my sprong for your chassis!

squeeforever 09.03.2006 12:13 AM

Haha...Maybe for the wheel nuts :p...

squeeforever 09.03.2006 01:31 PM

Anybody know were a good place to start would be for the diffs? I only have 50k and 7k right now. I need to get some more...

aqwut 09.03.2006 04:21 PM

Nice lookin' truggy Squee... I was gonna buy a ofna 9.5 and make a truggy out of it..... but the vehicle you got is way cooler... How much you pay for that bad boy?. I gotta hunt for one too..

squeeforever 09.03.2006 04:59 PM

540 w/shipping. There is one for sale on RCZ. Jeremy, the co-owner of BPP is selling his. I was gonna buy his because I thought the one I got was gonna go to high. Thank God it didn't. I kinda perfer the CF over the aluminum.

The Bomb Proof guys showed up at the madness event this year. We hung out a bit - they are cool guys and the trucks are pretty sweet. The only issue with the HB lightning stadium trucks is that the steering isn't all that great - the bomb proof guys had the same issue(well, they were severely overpowered as well - in true bomb-proof form!). I will say that the bomb proof "lightning" truck is one hell of a sweet truck, though. I would still take my emaxx, but it also cost a lot more! For the money, I doubt you will find a better truck, Squee - even for more money, it will be hard to beat it!

squeeforever 09.04.2006 10:23 AM

Thanks Mike! I don't think I will have a problem with turning :D. Besides, I loved how my nitro LSP turned.

Something around 5/10/1 is a good start for a bl truggy imo. Maybe even 7/10/1...

I like the heavy center fluid to keep the front end from unloading under the huge bl torque.

RC-Monster Mike 09.04.2006 10:33 AM

I did manage to tune the lsp for decent steering, but it required pretty strong rear brake bias on a tight track - which is not an option on your truck without a little work(easy enough to do I suppose). I loved the lsp handling otherwise. In contrast, my G2R turns at least 2x as good as my lsp ever did(too much steering almost, which is my preference).
If the front sway bars are still on the truck, take them off. Then, raise the ride height to arms slightly above level(to increase body roll) and run the front a little soft - you can get it turning pretty decent with some setup.

squeeforever 09.04.2006 10:50 AM

Thanks Mike. My local track is pretty big and the race I'm gonna try and get ready for is at a HUGE racetrack. You can check out the track at http://www.futabanitrochallenge.com/ or on page 191 of RCCA October '06 (newest issue).

What diffs is that with? 6 spyder or 8? 8 require thinner fluid than 6 will to be equal.

sjcrss 09.04.2006 11:27 AM

dang that track is huge....

glassdoctor 09.04.2006 11:50 AM

I'm running stock Jammin and Kyosho diffs.... 6 gear.

I'm running 5/10/1 in my buggy, but I haven't changed the truggy since I got it. I thought he said the center was 10, but I think it's heavier than that.

One of the top Jammin drivers is running 7/15/1 and 7/20/3 in his CRT and I think my CRT was setup like his, so it's probably in that range.

I will find out what's in it for sure...

squeeforever 09.04.2006 12:11 PM

Thanks Doc.

squeeforever 09.07.2006 11:43 PM

Got the truck in today. Should see how it performs in the next day or so...

sjcrss 09.08.2006 07:50 AM

cool, keep us posted will you....

neweuser 09.08.2006 08:55 AM

Get some pics on too if you could! Sounds like your headed for some fun!!!!!!!

sjcrss 09.08.2006 08:56 AM

squee...definatley get us some pics...will ya

squeeforever 09.08.2006 05:21 PM

I'll certainly get some pictures and a video if I can, but the video will only be with my digi camera.

squeeforever 09.12.2006 07:57 PM

Well guys, I finally crapped together enough to get a LiPo setup for it. I'm going with a couple of 3S 8000mah LiPo packs. I'm also lookin at the LBA10 balancer to go with it. What LVC should I look into? I was thinking a Li-Saver...

natrix 09.12.2006 09:52 PM

Sweet truggy!!! I can't wait to see it in action.

squeeforever 09.12.2006 10:23 PM

Thanks!

MetalMan 09.13.2006 12:11 AM

Dimension Engineering makes a LVC called CellShield that monitors the individual cells in packs. You could use the series adapter I drew up to hook the balance connectors from the two 3s packs together so that all 6 cells in series could be monitored by the LVC. They might be working on a car version for it, but I haven't gotten a definitive answer from them (I've offered to beta test the car version if they were to make it). Check here:

captain harlock 09.13.2006 12:21 AM

Do we have to use LVC even though the controller ( Schulze or MGM) has this feature?

MetalMan 09.13.2006 12:24 AM

You don't need a whole-pack LVC if the controller already has it built in. But it might be a nice feature to monitor the individual cells, which the controller can't do.
