Any new info on RCM slipper?

I'm going to upgrade my clutch and remembered that Mike was coming out with a new design. I'm a little hesitant on the strobe. I read that they were no longer making the disks anymore, so I'm looking for the new best system

Serum 09.16.2006 01:56 AM

Slipperential is the key!

and most likely the new e-maxx transmsission will use the revo slipper, which is one of the best slippers out there. Mike is currently working on the slipperential.

go4gold 09.16.2006 03:48 AM

My emaxx is a few years old with the friction pegs. Do you know when Mike is expecting to have a finished product for sale?

New E-Maxx Trasmision????

Is this news that I havent heard, or are we assuming this based on the fact that they just redesigned very other vehicle in thier line up except the e-maxx.

Whats a slipperential ? J/K -

For all of you that dont know what a slipperential is - it is a center diff with a slipper on it - and it has been thru its testing and it works well.. From what i've heard anyway ;)

coolhandcountry 09.16.2006 10:32 AM

To my understanding it can be on the market any time now.

neweuser 09.16.2006 12:04 PM

The slipperential completely replaces the emaxx tranny, it is a very nice set up.

captain harlock 09.16.2006 04:33 PM

Is Mike going to use 6061 grade aluminum or 7075 for the center diff carrier?

Serum 09.16.2006 05:04 PM

You think it would matter for a gear/diff holder captain?

HotnCold 09.16.2006 06:09 PM

6061 aluminum im betting - the way it mounts up - 6061 is plenty strong - im not sure about the motor mount - I cut mine out of 7075 - and its plenty strong - but it might need to be redesigned a tiny bit for 6061 - not positive - but im leaning towards 6061. I'll talk to mike about it a little more...

HotnCold 09.16.2006 06:14 PM

Well that took a whole 2 minutes Just confirmed with Mike - slipperential mount 6061 - motor mount 6061 ( with a minor redesign change ) change shouldnt take any time at all.

captain harlock 09.17.2006 01:04 AM

Yeah, Serum, I thought it would be cooler to have it made out of 7075 grade.

Thanks, Walter, I know that Mike is trying his best to keep the slipperential's price within the customer's range and probably that is why he used the 6061 alloy.

BTW, how thick is the motor mount and is it morphed to the slipperential or attached via screws?

squeeforever 09.17.2006 01:11 AM

Captain, look at the pictures...By they way, 7075 would be pointless on something like that when its that thick...That would be like making a pinion out of titanium...Not necessary in my opinion.

captain harlock 09.17.2006 01:15 AM

Yeah, right, I remember now how thick it is.

Serum 09.17.2006 03:49 AM

The motormount is seperated from the diff-holder bytheway.

captain harlock 09.17.2006 04:55 AM

Good thing to hear. Thanks, my friend.

Procharged5.0 09.18.2006 12:32 PM

captain harlock 09.18.2006 03:08 PM

Find the " Quark Durability Test" thread using the search engine.

Procharged5.0 09.18.2006 03:48 PM

Thank you.

E-Maxx King 10.09.2006 08:51 PM

Cant you use the new stampede slipper? Cause its a revo slipper.

squeeforever 10.09.2006 11:03 PM

The slipper is the same, you need a Revo spur either way....Whats the point?

Serum 10.10.2006 01:47 AM

Traxxas did a great job on the slipper.. And they know that. They are using it in allmost all their vehicles now. It's only a matter of time that the new e-maxx will also use them.

Procharged5.0 10.10.2006 09:38 AM

Currently working on a conversion kit. Could be ready by the end of October.

If Mike says its ok to market them here I'm sure you will have quite a few customers on this forum alone not to mention Ebay!

On the subject of slippers. Would anyone be up for making a non slipper that will fit the ofna 51t spurs? I keep destroying strobe pads, and I have the slipper locked tight as possible.

C'mon slipperential! Eagerly awaiting...
