New Traxxas parts...

Sup guys...I was just reading through the new RC Car Action I got today and was kinda disappointed...There wasn't much new stuff...But on the back cover, Traxxas has a new add (title is "Beauty for your Beast") and I saw new products that aren't even on there website...They now have CV driveshafts for for the F/C/R of the Maxx trucks. They basically look like the ones for the Jato. I think they might be good if you want to run RPM arms since they don't appear to have a cup/bone design...They also have some new red aluminum turnbuckle tubes like the ones for the Revo...I think the products look fairly promising...I would assume the CV shafts will fit the Revo as well, but I'm not positive...There might be a slight difference in the lengths of the two (Maxx and Revo) that isn't noticable with the sliders...

I got the same issue, I have not yet looked at it though. sounds prmising. I think the Jato cvd's I have, have the cups into the diff like the UE style though.

coolhandcountry 12.22.2006 04:25 PM

Cool. Sounds like traxxas is getting more into other stuff for rc.

Which is good. They are good at supplying items, and they have a pretty good service department too.

coolhandcountry 12.22.2006 05:05 PM

Yeah it is a good thing. The more choices the better.

A better shot? That's pretty damn good Leroy, i must say! pdf! Zoom capable and all!:004: :005: :032:

Serum 12.23.2006 04:49 AM

LOL! I think Leroy was talking about your first pic....

These CVshafts look pretty sweet! i am curious what construction they use. so far it looks promising; the thing with the 3.3 shafts on my maxx; i can't use the powerstrokes; they rub against the thick shaft, pretty bad..

If i dig up that number on towers, they only cost 66 dollars/4 pcs. (hard to believe?)

Serum 12.23.2006 06:28 AM

LOL! then you know how ncabz feels the entire year.. :p

coolhandcountry 12.23.2006 04:49 PM

Better late than never though.
67 buck for 4 cvds. That is cool.

Serum 12.23.2006 07:10 PM

Yeah, a pretty sharp price IMO..

Lets hope the engineers who made the revo worked on them.. I am curious what is packed in that rubber..

crazyjr 12.23.2006 10:14 PM

If like the Jato shafts , no grease, just a dustboot

hyperasus 12.25.2006 02:30 PM

Do you really think these will be able to take more abuse then the stock sliders?

jhautz 12.25.2006 02:50 PM

I'm assuming traxxas wouldnt bother unless it did.... But we wont know untill someone gets their hands on them and tests them

coolhandcountry 12.25.2006 02:57 PM

Sure looks good though. The stock sliders for 3.3 and revo are pretty good.

Serum 12.25.2006 05:25 PM

Yeah, i can only guess they are better. Time will tell..

coolhandcountry 12.25.2006 05:31 PM

I wonder if they can be so they work with 1/8 diffs.

Serum 12.25.2006 05:33 PM

No, you need the outdrives of the original 3.3 shafts and dremel the thread off. They you can use them for the 1/8th diffs.. :)

Serum, could you elaborate on this a little more?

Serum 12.25.2006 07:40 PM

If you are using the 1/8th diffs and you want to use the revo driveshafts, you don't need a drivecup, as used on most diffs, but you need a pin with a hole.

Luckely, the holes as positioned in the trx5454 stub axles can be used in the diffs to accept the plastic driveshafts. you only need to cut off the threaded part. Get it?

Dafni 12.25.2006 07:41 PM

I guess Rene meant stub axles.

squeeforever 12.25.2006 07:51 PM

Got it...Thats what I thought you meant, I just wasn't sure...

coolhandcountry 12.25.2006 08:38 PM

I didn't know that. hmm. That is pretty cool indeed.

It's a "rough crowd" here somedays! LOL :005:

jhautz 12.26.2006 06:29 PM

So Mike.... You gonna get an order in to Traxxas for these things? Looks like it could be a decent option for CVDs on revos and 3.3 converted Maxxs. Id be willling to try a set. I'd rather not have to buy through tower if I can get them here. LMK

Serum 04.05.2007 02:29 AM

The right partnumber is 5451R for the wheel CV's
and 4951R for the e-maxx center shafts.

I'll second that! I'll be buying centers and maybe the front/rears (already have the 3.3 sliders) If Mike gets them I'll throw my money his way rather than Tower.
