Its some kind of thing that reduces glitching or something like that...

I got a DK 4-Pack (top left hand corner), PSP w/ a good bit of accessories, and mostly money...

Sylvester 12.25.2006 03:24 PM

9920, Maxamps 8000mah 4s2p lipos, lba10, mrc 989, and lvc.

GorillaMaxx360 12.25.2006 03:46 PM

it feels plastic or something like that should i cut it off, becasue of the way it is wraped is restricts the legnth of the wire by about 2 and 1/2 inches.

Sylvester 12.25.2006 03:48 PM

Id leave it, just to play it safe. If you really need that extra wire you could try to un-tangle it out somehow.

Sylvester 12.25.2006 03:51 PM

I switched from a bmx to a mountain... currently riding a 2006 Norco Kokanee.. i love it! :)

GorillaMaxx360 12.25.2006 03:57 PM

guys what do you think about this piece should i cut it off can i, i wish to because it is shortening the wire 2 1/2 onces and that is a lot for a 10 inch cord(estimate)

t-maxxracer32 12.25.2006 04:01 PM

i got the mm 5700 system and a bunch of upgrades for my rusty!! 270 cash also =)

BrianG 12.25.2006 04:13 PM

It's a ferrite bead and is meant to block induced interference.

I've had mine off ever since I got the Quark with no negative effects. However, you must make sure your receiver wire is away from any high current source or you may get glitching as Squee said.

To remove it, you'll have to take off the throttle connector. Just use a pin or something to slide each wire out of the connector. After you remove the ferrite bead, put the connector back on; just be sure it's on right. :)

GorillaMaxx360 12.25.2006 04:18 PM

what do you mean by reciever wire the antena wire or the quark rx wire. and if so it has to be next to something in order to work or do you mean it just can not be right next to the motor, batt, or ubec. what should i do to rout the wire and what items(batts, speed control, motor, ect..) should i stay away from thanks.

coolhandcountry 12.25.2006 05:47 PM

You could just get an extension on it and remove the red wire out it so you be good.

Nothing for the RC

GorillaMaxx360 12.25.2006 07:59 PM

coolhandcountry 12.25.2006 08:34 PM

Well, I paid for most of this myself, but the permission to buy it was mostly cause of X-Mas (have to ask my dad on $50+ orders since says I've spent waaaaaay to much on R/C - I'm starting to agree lol).

Basically, my parents gave me $200, then with it, and a bunch of my money, I bought:

Pro Peak 20Amp Dual Output Digital Power Supply (has a display telling me how many amps I'm pulling)
Duratrax Ice Charger
Hyperion LBA10 Balancer
4 Maxamps 8000mah 2S2P Lipo's for my G2R
Novak Smart Stop Low Voltage Cutoff for my G2R/Lipo's
Factory Team 18T
Mamba Competition 6800 System for the 18T
Digital Micro Servo for the 18T
2 Maxamps 1500mah 3S Lipos for the 18T
Some other stuff for the 18T (Tires and upgrades)
Dual Chamber Resonator for my dad's Jato (I blew his stock exhaust somehow lol)
Traxxas Tubes for my Nitro Revo

And finally, my brother gave me his PS2 with the multitap, 4 controllers, 12+ games, and some accessories for it. I had been asking to borrow it again for a while so he just said I could have it since he didn't play it much anymore.

Mike.L 12.25.2006 11:16 PM

570$ canadian and thats it

going to get 200 more buks from my dad and ill use 150 to the 200 and buy the mamba 5700kv motor esc, and other rc goodies

and with 400$ ill buy some clothes, and i have to see what else...

MetalMan 12.26.2006 01:57 AM

Damn, you guys got a lot of (expensive) stuff! I pretty much go 2 1/2 pairs of tires, $30, some clothes, and a $40 HPI MT2 18SS. The MT2 was the best, quite possibly since I picked it out at the Team Associated garage sale :). It's worth $500+ brand new, with the following:
-MT2 18ss (normally a kit, this is already built, appears brand new) $320
-Airtronics 94357 steering servo $100
-Aitronics 94737 throttle servo ~$30
-Reedy 5cell 1100mah RX pack ~$20
-Airtronics 27mhz FM 2-channel receiver $50

So, for my parents to give it to me for paying only $40 is a steal! But even still, I got nothing compared to some of you guys!

Hi,

I bought a couple of 8XL (one from Mike) for my buggy only to realise that I need some work done to my mount b4 I can fit the motor in.

2 bodies for my Savage. Xcitor & Crowd Pleazer.

Made a 3 rotor rc flying saucer like thing (some of the parts were on Christmas sale so I took the plunge - any excuse to indulge in rc fun right ?). Finally managed a controlled flight (i.e. in control 50% of the time) during Christmas day. Pretty happy about it as my flying is very poor.

Also thinking about a BL revo but gave up after looking at the $ needed.

Regards,
Joe Ling

That giant list of stuff was bought with money out of my own pocket. I just got $200 to help me out...nothing more.

But I have to admit it is one big list lol...

HotnCold 12.26.2006 08:46 AM

Buddy of mine picked one of those up a month or so ago. He's still trying to figure out which CAD program to get to run it (I use CATIA, which is overkill for this type of mill). Have fun with it. PM me when you ar getting rid of your other one, I may be interested.

I have to agree with the person that comented on how "lucky" some of the kids (only an assumption there) seem to be, not only on here but on other RC boards. They should count their blessings and appreciate parents/family that have worked hard enough to be able to give gifts as extravegent as that.

I got a Crowdpleaser and a dodge ram body for my Revos....gotta get painting!

jhautz 12.27.2006 10:33 PM

You run CATIA huh... That what I use at work also. I actually really like it vs ProE and UG that I used to run. For home/hobby stuff I jsut use Solidworks. Its penty powerful for RC stuff I design, but Im not that fast on it cuz I dont run it often enough.
