Safety first

Well, I just got out of the E.R. I got 16 stitches and a fractured ankle. I was rammed by a 14 year old who was trying out his very first RC car, a 3.3 Jato! Parents, please, start your kids with something more suitable. And also, don't wash pain meds down with a beer. I'm still in a fog.

Mike.L 01.09.2007 09:06 AM

wow, what a noob:005: ouch dude you alright?

knotted 01.09.2007 09:18 AM

Yeah, Mike. I'll be okay. My wife is a nurse and can handle wound care. She still chewed me out for my stupid hobby. Last year it was a piece of carbon blade in my arm from one of my RC helicopters crashing. Anybody else get hurt from an RC incident? Or am I the only klutzy loser?

jollyjumper 01.09.2007 09:22 AM

well, i've seen this dude with a savy jumping.
he stood behind the ramp.
going 45 or even 50 kph he jumped into himself. hahaha:005:
hope you heel good!:027:

Serum 01.09.2007 12:32 PM

Ouch!

those 3.3 jato's are no toys..

ridiculous he was driving one and apparently he didn't know what he was doing.

Procharged5.0 01.09.2007 01:35 PM

OUCH! That sounds seriously painful.

and a heli rotor in the arm? Yikes!

I feel bad for you. :002:

Not to sound insensitive but you need to learn to jump quicker!...there will always be noob in this sport and many lack the driving skills to handle ANYTHING over 25mph. My 12 yr old stepson included.

Best wishes for a speedy & complete recovery! :027:

neweuser 01.09.2007 04:25 PM

Well, I can't say too much. I hit Mandie a couple of weekends ago pretty good. Broke my RPM bumper on my 3.3 Jato. She got hurt pretty bad, no stitches though, but one hell of an egg on her leg! She still has a brown patch there by her ankle! hope you heel good man!

Serum 01.09.2007 04:32 PM

That's so you Newe.. Calling your RC's damage before Mandies... LOL

neweuser 01.09.2007 04:36 PM

oops, bad habit I suppose! LOL, she always says RC first is my world! LOL, anywho, you have PM sir.

Mike.L 01.09.2007 04:46 PM

that really sucks!

boss 302 01.09.2007 04:48 PM

i myself have never been hit by an rc car but i have hit my little bro with my all alluminum e-maxx before. he was cut up pretty bad

neweuser 01.09.2007 04:52 PM

I hae ran into myself as well, a car was coming down the street and of course my eye was on my truck and had to turn into myself or get it ran over!

The chit hurts man!!! Real bad. Came limping in the house and Mandie looked at me and said..."hit your self again? You need to learn how to drive dude!" And of course, I had an excuse! LOL

Sylvester 01.09.2007 05:01 PM

That stinks knotted, hope you heal.

Newe - What excuse was that? ;)

something like this....."but honey, the tree jumped out in front of me, or ...honey, my car just attacked me, or my favorite......it wasn't my fault, honest, I don't know wh:005: at happened!"

another...."my finger slipped off the trigger" which what i said when i hit her with the 3.3!

Serum 01.09.2007 05:29 PM

And after that, newe was slaughtered to death with the 3.3..

Sylvester 01.09.2007 05:34 PM

LOL! I gotta write those down! ;)

Procharged5.0 01.09.2007 05:35 PM

Took out my stepson with the Maxx once. No injuries....well, just a couple of bruises as he lept over it only to land on the ground.......

sjcrss 01.09.2007 06:06 PM

when they where here in NY, at the track just north of me, mandie took my oldest son's feet out from under him...... so it isn't just troy who can't drive, it's mandie too.....lol

neweuser 01.09.2007 06:29 PM

Hmmm, and then there is Shayne who is too scared to tell horror stories because he knows how much C R A P I would give him LOLOLOLOL ;)

But it's true, she not very good, but is getting a lot better!!!!

Procharged5.0 01.09.2007 06:34 PM

You guys are too funny!

We need to get a RC-M get-together in the works. That would be too much fun!

Mike has the BASH! ;) But something a little more central would be great!

Procharged5.0 01.09.2007 06:37 PM

When is it????? Where is it?????

neweuser 01.09.2007 06:38 PM

Last year it was at Barnstormers in NY, can't remember the town name, but it was a BLAST! Mike holds it and he runs BL races and what not, food, all the good stuff, except he be missing the beer! LOL

Procharged5.0 01.09.2007 06:39 PM

Do you remember what month is was? Are there plans for another one this year?

Mike.L 01.09.2007 06:57 PM

i think it was july or august.

Procharged5.0 01.09.2007 06:59 PM

I'd love to go. Depending on the timing maybe I will.

Roadtrip!!! Rent a van load up the RC cargo and drive for 14 hours. Depending on timing, I am planning on making the pilgramage this year.

Edit: But only if Serum promises to leave the anteater costume at home.

sjcrss 01.09.2007 09:52 PM

it was the first part of august, but the last time i asked Mike about it, he plans on doing it again there at Barnstormers, Chester NY, he just needs to get a more confirmed date from the guy who owns it...but he did mention that he wanted to do it later in the month of August....but he wasn't real sure on it yet....

coolhandcountry 01.09.2007 10:20 PM

That would be nice. Maybe i won't hurt myself this year and have money to go.

Yeah emaxx to the ankle hurts.
Monster gt to the ankles hurts.
I think any rc 1/10 or bigger hurts.

Awesome! That would be alot of fun! Have Troy meet us near Chicago! I like it! :027:

2nd Comment: "But only if Serum promises to leave the anteater costume at home"

This is pivotal! No costumes allowed! :005:

squeeforever 01.09.2007 11:11 PM

I would like it in the end of July personally since school starts like the 10th...

GorillaMaxx360 01.09.2007 11:15 PM

Man that sucks good luck healing. I have never been hit my self but when i bought my first RC car a t-maxx and 9 years old(2 years or saving and mowing grass everyday) and i hit my bro doing about 40 he jumped and it just lit the bottom of his leg he was hurt pretty bad but it could have been worse it he had not jumped. But really that sucks man i would not like that kid very much and even though he is only 14 (not all 14 year olds are irresponsible my friend just turned 15 and he races his jato 3.3 and he controls it well) that kid just needs to watch what he is doing because if he would have hit somebody not as RC interested and unforgiving he might have got sued.

I can't make it on the third weekend of July.

It's the BIG All-Mustang race combined with the NMCA Pro Series Race!

We'll have to figure that out when it gets closer and there is a date.

Untill then... NOBODY else run themselves down with an RC just to get attention like knotted. :031:

Just kidding...:018:

Hope this litlle ''incedent'' doesnt turn you off the the hobby.;)

neweuser 01.10.2007 10:06 AM

Jhautz, last year, Mandie and I drove to NY from here in MN. We go right thru chicago! Ha! Where were you last year dude? LOL, our whole trunk was nothing but RC stuff mostly! We brought both maxx's and all! Then we stopped in NY, picked up Shayne and went to the bash! It was a blast!

sjcrss 01.10.2007 10:28 AM
