Mounting Mamba Max ESC
What do you guys recommend for mounting it to my chassis?
I was considering a couple zip ties over the heat sink, but am worried about damaging somthing on the ESC by pushing down on the heat sink.... |
I used velcro on the bottom and it works very well and allows me to remove it for USB programming. If you use something fairly permanent, make sure you can still get to the port...
Just don't zip tie to hard is all...you should be fine
Brain beat me to it....that would be my second suggestion! |
Yep, velcro is man's second best friend (after duct tape). Currently I'm using one Mamba Max in 4 cars (soon to be 6), and I am able to easily switch it between cars using velcro.
I use double stick tape and push down on the case
weird... velcro doesnt hold worth crap with me. i drilled 2 holes on the botto of chassis and used a zip tie that goes through each end and i hold it down that way. did that make sence? lol
Which type of velcro have you used? Industrial Strength velcro works wonders.
Yeah, I can't remember where I got my velcro, but the glue holds so well that I really have a tough time to get it off if I want to. I end up having to use lighter fluid to loosen the glue.
The glue on the stuff I use is so strong that when I remove the velcro, the adhesive stays on the chassis when the velcro is in my hand!
The industrial velcro or the all plastic velcro like you find on some radar detectors, highway "open road tolling" passes (I-Pass here in Illinois).
Check www.mcmaster.com for some options. |
i bought mine at gnc... lol i thought velcro was velcro
make shure you have enought legth of wire for where ever you place your esc. I use double stick tape.
I like the velcro that uses two of the same material to stick.. it's plastic.. And it works like nothing else..
If MR Myrmecophagidae approves of it, you KNOW it's gotta be good!
