I am thinking of converting my Savage to brushless, I am wondering if a warrior 9918 and 9L motor or a Mtroniks Truck and a 9L motor would be a good set up, and I will be running on 12 cells, I want 35-40mph with good torque, and not to hot preferably, will thos esc's work and also is that a good motor choice, or would something like the 7xl be better?

A 9920 on a 7xl with a UBEC with 12 good cells (gp3300, gp3700, and ib3800) will get you to the 35-40 mph range.

Thanks, can that mtroniks esc handle the 7XL, and are there any opinions on that esc being good or bad?

The mtronics esc would easily handle it.

why do you prefer the mtronicks then the 9920..?

I dont have either, but I am wondering is the 9920 enough esc for the 7XL, like how many amps does the 7XL draw, I just want to be able to hit 40 on 4 cell lipo in a savage, can the 7XL 9920 do that, also how would it run on a 3 cell lipo?

You would be better off with getting a 9920 then!

Ok, well ima start looking for 9920 then, also for the motor which is a better choice do you think the Nemesis XLT motors or the Feigao 7XL or 8XL, and what speeds will each provide on say 14 cells, 14 cells will prolly be the most I would put through.

i hav 8xl on mine and quark125 and it runs fast not sure about the actual speed but on the first run my sav flipped ..i was running 16/52 ..now i ran 16/49 and i think its a good set up..im running dual ib3800s

Thats kind of in order of importance, but I am gonna be running around 4000 mah packs and would like at least 12 minutes of runtime is that possible with those two motors and which would you choose?

ifn youyr running 14 cells then an 8xl will be good.

8xl on 14 should be good. On 4000mah 12 minutes of racing is close to the capacity. Should be fine though.

So how fast would that 8 XL set up be and would I have truck flipping power, also does anyone know anything about the XLT motors?

8xl on 14 cells would easily flip the truck.

i only lasts 5minutes with my 3800mah i thot i did around 8min but yesterday i only made 5minutes..on a newly charged batts my sav flips real bad i broke my rollbar..anyway i wish i have lipo i heard on lipo u get longer run time without reducing power?is that true?coz on nimh u can tell when youre batts are losin juice when my truck is not doin wheelies and becomes slower ..

The 8XL only lasts 5-8 minutes on 3800 mah? thats not very good, also what is the top speed?

im only doing some regular driving infront of the house..i dont think im not gonna get a good run time with 3800s nimhs..or maybe they lost charge since i charge them 2days before i used them.about the speed i dont really know.

the 8XL is fairly quick, nothing to write home about though. File that one in the mild catagory.

The guy from fine design tells me the XLT-4 motor goes about 45 in a 4 cell lipo powered savage and gets around 10 minutes of runtime with 3700 mah, I will be getting a 4000 mah, so so I should get around 10-12 minutes, which is perfect for me. Does anyone on here have any experience with that motor and also where can I get pinions for 1/8" shaft mod 1 style.

Don't buy that motor.....

It's even hotter than your 8XL and will drain the batteries much, MUCH quicker..

I already spent 160 at rc monster on an esc, im just looking for the best choice, anything that I can buy from here I will, but im not gonna get a worse product, just to buy from here.

and did you drove it since the last time with fresh charged cells. And what brand of cells are you using?

I am not a fan of FD, and i have got several grounded reasons for it.

But i am not stopping you to buy from him. If you think a 6XL will give you more runtime than an 8XL, then go ahead..

But before i can help you further, i need to know what batteries it are you are using and what charger, and if you can see how many mAh you put in them during charging..

You said you left them for 2 days before you used them; nimh cells have got a fair self-discharge.

I have ran the nemisis motors before. Besides color and price couldn't tell a
difference from one to the other.
If you going 14 cells 8xl will be fine.
