love their support

hey just wanted to say that castle creations has some AWSOME support!! i asked for an outer casing because i trashed mine and within a week i had one at my door steps! a couple days ago i talked to them about my heat sink coming off.

they told me to send it to them and they will put it back on for me! (if i tried myself it would void the warranty) so i figured i might as well just send it in. i broke the switch wiring off (poor soldering job on it with small wires... not a good combo for bashing)

i sent everything in yesterday (heat sink that there putting on and the on/off switch i asked to be put on) and i want to see how quick the turnaround is! i will let everyone know for future refernce if they are ever in my situation!

also! it only cost .87 cents to ship it to them lol!

Man, you really trashed your poor ESC! They must think your were using it as a rollbar or skidplate or something! :005:

I haven't had the need to use their support (yet), but it's nice to know that it's good...

Glasdto hear about the great support.

Mike shipped my Mamba Max ESC to me yesterday. Can't wait to get it and the NEU1515 installed in the truck.

Castle has awesome support, top 2% in the industry.

Procharged5.0 01.24.2007 12:59 PM

Awesome! Hope I never need it! :027:

glassdoctor 01.24.2007 01:22 PM

Oh come on... with your track record we all know you will need it eventually!!

LOL :005:

Probably!

We'll see how the MM & the NEU get along.

Sylvester 01.24.2007 05:41 PM

I doubt the neu will comprehend with the MM unless castle gets a software update for the 4 polers.

Comprehend??? :032:

Well. Mike said it would work fine. I've seen others do it. Hope it works for me!

Sylvester 01.24.2007 06:08 PM

Wrong wording i guess, Lets say "like" or "work". ;)

Procharged5.0 01.24.2007 06:10 PM

I'll let you know how it works for me. Hopefully CC will release a new version that 4pole friendly......but I'm not counting on it anytime soon.

Sylvester 01.24.2007 06:16 PM

It should be ok, but there may be slight cogging on startup. Wonder if it will work normally, cant wait to see what you say. Thanks.

I posted this vid in my 1/8 buggy conversion thread. I was trying to use a MM w/ a Neu and this is what I found. It worked, but it was far from ideal. It runs the 2 pole motors MUCH better. I actually wound up smoking the MM when it cogged severly on the neu. Of course I was running 5s so that didnt help.

Procharged5.0 01.24.2007 09:24 PM

I'm trusting Mike on this one. If it cogs badly & blows up with it set correctly and running on 12-gp3300's then I'll have to chat with Mike and come up with a solution.

Bomb-Proof 01.24.2007 09:34 PM

It will work with no problem. The plenttenbergs are also 4 pole, and are comparable. Heres a video of a 4 pole on a MM, on 5s. I posted it in another thread, but it seems relevant to this one. :028:

Looks like it ran really strong to me. Any idea what motor is was? Was it a big maximum?

Bomb-Proof 01.24.2007 09:45 PM

yes, thats a big maximum, with timing set on low. 17.2:1 final drive ratio. So dont worry, it will work just fine.

jhautz 01.24.2007 10:15 PM

It will work... Dont worry about that. I'm not trying to panic you. :010: :018: All Im saying is that it will not like hard throtle starts from a stand still. It WILL cog. Rolling starts and low throttle starts are not an issue.

Sylvester 01.24.2007 10:25 PM

Thats why a good bit of people are awaiting castles update!

jhautz 01.24.2007 10:36 PM

I have the replacement for the one I burnt sitting in the box just waiting for the update myself.:018:

Bomb-Proof 01.24.2007 10:37 PM

Mine starts full throttle, half throttle, whatever and never cogs. Most people say they cog when rolling slow, or starting up...no problem there.

here's another example..full throttle start..no problem.

OK.
