One upper A-arm installed ( not attached on wheel end in the picture). Custom expansion chamber mocked up, working on header and silencer for the rear.

Bye:018:

Bomb-Proof 01.24.2007 10:04 PM

Looks like a really nice project. Should turn out great when it is finsihed.

Sylvester 01.24.2007 10:26 PM

That is very cool bomb-proof.

Bet it will turn out to be a really great ATV!

Bomb-Proof 01.24.2007 10:39 PM

thanks guys, thanks for the link! I didnt know Jason posted it up.

Serum 01.25.2007 02:50 AM

Now that's a scale model! you are using a diff?

glassdoctor 01.25.2007 11:16 AM

This will be awesome... you need to get the beadlocks all the way around and post a pic :027:

Bomb-Proof 01.25.2007 12:18 PM

No diff, I had one with a diff and didnt like it. Yea man, I am workin on beadlocks for the front as well. I also have a stretched swingarm and paddles for it. :027:

Serum 01.25.2007 12:21 PM

Yeah, it deserves paddles..

Those 1:1 things have got a rigid rear axle too, right?

glassdoctor 01.25.2007 12:22 PM

Yep... looks like a full race 1:1

Wow, that may be a record for me... reply posted within 1 minute? :)

glassdoctor 01.25.2007 12:33 PM

glassdoctor 01.25.2007 12:44 PM

I was speechless, lol

Bomb-Proof 01.25.2007 01:54 PM

lol, thanks guys.
Gettin ready for chroming and powdercoating now.

Serum 01.25.2007 02:39 PM

And brushless? Hinthint... :p

Bomb-Proof 01.25.2007 04:29 PM

Nah, this one is gunna stay nitro, but yea there is an electric version in the works. I would like to have a flattrack version in electric. :027:

Serum 01.25.2007 04:41 PM

Here is somthing to think about; A brushless motor with two shafts sticking out.. One on the end-bell too. Pick the KV you like.. Lehner can make these motors, i had this plan for a monstertruck with a low CG and perfect balanced layout. Only catch with an MT is that the cd is missing..

Bomb-Proof 02.23.2007 02:44 PM

yep, we were gunna do that at one point, but I think it would snap the shaft fairly easily. I think it would take like a 10mm motor shaft to work.

Serum 02.23.2007 02:49 PM

We asked lehner about 1 year back about this, and they can produce these motors. No need for a 10mm shaft though.

Bomb-Proof 02.23.2007 02:57 PM

well I sheered a 6mm shaft off on a whoop section. With no center diff, it takes a major beating.

Serum 02.23.2007 03:14 PM

what motor/kv/weight vehicle? the shafts are made from hard inox steel, the strains are pretty straight with the cups right onto it. (not sidewards like with gears) if that's the case; You would need 10mm dogbones too, and even thicker ones to the wheels, since the forces are roughly 4 times higher there..

With a normal gear reduction, the motor is spinning at about 35000rpm, and the wheels at about 3000, so the forces at the wheels are 12 times higher than at the shaft of the motor. Since 8 mm shafts are more than enough on the wheels, 8 would be more than enough for a motor.

glassdoctor 02.23.2007 04:41 PM

A rubber type slip coupler would work great for the driect drive thing. There's a guy on rczone using them in a buggy conversion with direct drive outrunners.

crazyjr 02.24.2007 12:27 AM

thats a Racers edge .32 right? I got one in an LSP pro-r and its wicked powerful

Bomb-Proof 02.24.2007 09:11 AM

yep, sure is. :027:

coolhandcountry 02.24.2007 10:09 PM

That is tight. I like to see when painted and chromed.

savagehaley14 06.07.2007 11:13 PM

looks good so far

_paralyzed_ 09.11.2007 07:12 PM

update??

coolrunnings 09.13.2007 12:18 AM

Yeah, we want to see more of that thing its killer!

nitrorube 02.10.2008 02:50 PM

that thing looks cool i want to see the completed project too:party:

fkadir 02.10.2008 09:19 PM
