1 second slipperential

Ok ,Week after week there is a bunch of hard core MT enthusiust that race our local track trying to beat the sub 30sec lap witch was achived by myself some 4 weeks ago with a time of 29.99 :027: Unfortunatly the glory was short lived when a new guy turned up at the track with his custom E Revo
(Paul:aka revo boy) & in the second race of the night produced a freakin awsome lap & killed my time with a 29.94 :035:
Ive gone home that night with my big $$$ UE/gorrilla maxx & my tail between my legs ,hissing & spitting.:025: :025: :025:
So a week or so passes & the slipperential that id order some weeks before turns up on my door step with sub 30 seconds written all over it :017: .The build was easy & fitted in perfectly(Sweet job Mike) with the help from serum's insruction, but it was thursday night before i could finish the install & we race on friday night , this left me no time to test or tune , any way 1st race of the night i finished 2nd against another SM truck with a best time of 31.31 not bad for a 1st time race, but the truck did need a couple of ajustments to compensate for the new motor location,so the batteries were moved to the center of the truck & the front 40 series tires were replaced for the same but with a harder insert to try and stop the front wheels from spinning up like razor blades.( Changing 2 a heavier oil next week)
The second race of the night with six electric monsters on the grid the slipperential showed its worth setting a new lap record of 28.95 only 2 seconds off the 4wd mod state champtions time.
With a bit of luck next week ill get some video footage so you can see for your selfs how well these trucks handle with a slipperential fitted.
Mike 100% happy great product ,are there any other stories like mine would love to here about them especially if you a beating a revo :005:
(btw: sorry 4 the crappy spelling)

BlackedOutREVO 02.05.2007 02:06 AM

NICE!!! and that was pretty funny, shows up with a e revo... wonder if hes on these fourms???? i dont know of anyone that isnt on this fourm that even knows much about e revos.. except out friends that see them, or u tell them about :D

Patrick 02.05.2007 03:52 AM

Hopefully the Green Machine will be keeping up soon LOL. (maxd out will know what I mean).
P.S might get a Spectrum DX3 this week.
and I try'd a 16t pinion (13t for racing) on my 14cell pack, on the oval it was VERY fast, like driving a nitro again.

Serum 02.05.2007 04:51 AM

Sounds like you had your share of fun with that slipperential already!

Wicked!

maxd out 02.05.2007 05:51 AM

Here is a pic of the track with a 360'' view

maxd out 02.05.2007 05:53 AM

Where's the picture of mine cartwheeling towards the wall at the end of the straight. LOL

Patrick 02.05.2007 05:55 AM

When was that picture taken?

Sylvester 02.05.2007 09:18 AM

Looks like you had some fun! I thought the slipperential would be a great race setup!

jhautz 02.05.2007 12:12 PM

Sounds Awesome!!! That is a great testimonial.

My only question is what happens when the V2 Slipperential for the Revo G2R comes out? :D

jollyjumper 02.05.2007 12:19 PM

sweet, a second faster cuz off the diff.

maxd out 02.05.2007 11:13 PM

Yep 1 second may not seem like alot but as a veteran racer in monster truck racing & winning state titles & placing 3rd best driver over all, in the state it is very hard to cut a hole second of your average lap time, Mike has produced a product that will place you in the winning circle "the proof is in the pudding",Over the comming months im sure with more testing & tuning you will see faster & faster lap times,
As far as the E Revo is conserned ,i dont see this truck as a theat on our tracks as we run on 100% clay tracks here that are faily smooth surfaces but in the hands of a competent driver it will be a battle. In saying that on a rough surface more like a 1/8 track the revo would be a difficult competitor to catch .Any way play hard & drive like you stole it

Mike.L 02.06.2007 09:26 AM

wow.....the slipperencial has many hidden powers that are just waiting to be unleashed!

Or maybe its just made to work more like a truggy.. ;)

RC-Monster Mike 02.09.2007 12:45 AM

New track record, huh. Very Nice! The slipperential probably helped, but you obviously have some driving skills as well! I look forward to the 27 second lap next week! :)

Serum 02.09.2007 04:20 AM

Perhaps tuning tires/diff oil would help.

maxd out 02.16.2007 10:29 AM

So the slipperential is now only seen 20 mins worth of race time & Ive done no more testing since the last time i ran her , The aim tonigh was to get used to to way the truck now handles . with a few minor changes .
The 40 series bow tires were replaced for the thinner hole shot MTR's :027: & the batteries remained in the center position of the Gorilla Chassis to place more weight over the front end.
The track had seen some modifacations during the last couple of weeks so to pull of a sub 30sec would be near on imposible in any class with the surface being so dry & dusty :036:
The MTR's were 1st class on the track hooking up at every corner & the slipperential performed flawlesly matched with the UE/Gorilla goodies .
It actually performed far better than i expected when the truck pulled fastest time of the night with a 29.04 second lap out of all the classes inc 4wd mod
Im thinking i might up the oil weight in the front diff from 7k to 10k over the next couple of weeks if i get the time ,to try & curb the amount of front wheel spin
The slipperential is so perfectly matched ,it will turn your monster into a weapon, Mike I cant thank you enough for not only building my truck but making it so predictable now with the slipperential , a drivers dream :D

glassdoctor 02.16.2007 10:58 AM

You have the inside front or both fronts?

Are they ballooning coming out of corners?

luvsrc 02.18.2007 04:51 PM

Congratulations to your new lap record,I know that the more you are used to it the better yout lap time will be, I'm building my E revo, what is the principle of diff fluids and center diff, is 5k on the front ,20k on the center diff and 3k on the rear a good starting point on a moderate loose track? What is the starting for for shock oil wt. front and back, thank you for any input.I will be using a hacker 9XL and MGM 24 160 compro and 2 packs of 3s 8000mah lipo 11.1 volts pack.I'm thinking to get a wanderer 12XL instead of the 9XL. What do you guys think and suggest.

maxd out 02.19.2007 08:56 AM

Oil wait for a Revo mmmmmm I think i would most likely start around the 60wt front & rear ......Hey y dont you try a 1940 lehner 7xl ,in my MT im running a 18/40 pinion +spur she stay very cool a real nice combo for me.

Sylvester 02.19.2007 07:50 PM

Nice to hear the slipperential is doing its job!

Luvsrc- For a nice racing setup, on 6s the 10xl should be perfect(wanderer w/ RCM heatsink). It would run cool and be fast. For a better motor a 1950 8T would be amazing on your racing revo.

luvsrc 02.19.2007 10:27 PM

Cool thanks for the advice guys

maxd out 01.05.2008 11:34 PM

Well after a season of racing there is no complaints, the slipper did exactly what it was designed to do,,,,,, give you the edge to beat the competition, improve your lap times & have a more stable truck , GR8 product Mike . Unfortunately at our local track the competition has completely changed with all the MT drivers changing over to truggies ,so I’ve reluctantly retired my SMGmaxx for the Kyosho ST-RR with the hope of 27/28 second lap times .
btw: the RC Monster motor mount for my st-rr fits like a gem thanx again mike

ssspconcepts 01.29.2008 10:39 PM

Has anybody heard when the V2 Slipperential is going to be available in the RC Monster store?

captain harlock 01.30.2008 07:11 PM

Last I heard is that they're ready to go out, but the drive shafts aren't.

The SM is dying and I believe we should use truggies as substitution.
