i need help!!
ok guys my nimh pack was runnin ok and then it just stops, i temp it and 2 cells were 190 degrees f and all the rest were 110 so im sick of these stupid packs with no run time and they dont give very good voltage so
im going lipo!!! YAY!!! i want limh for my flm mamba pede with 5000 mah if theres one, or close, any recomendations?? and then i will have lipos for my cars but in the pede that i BASH HARD i need something a lil more stable// i know chc runs these packs, and they do well.. so i want in lol and last how do i charge them? i will get a super brain 989, and i dont know if i need a ballancer or not? thanks:018: |
actually scratch that.... 220 bucks is too much lol for the 3 cell
heres what i want, is this good? its what byt used.. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...p?&I=LXMUV9&P= EDIT: will my mamba max 5700 kv motor handle the 3 cell limn? or no, or do i need a ubec? if i have to do the ubec or whatever i will just get the 2 cell one |
you can get that pack from mike.
they are very powerfull and most of all safe. |
but will my mm handle it or no???
and i know mike has them, i foun them there first |
you should adjust gearing and it will be fine.
lower tooth pinion or bigger spur, to compensate for the higher voltage. your on 8 cells nimh, or not? thats 9.6V, limn 3s is 11.1V |
howed u kow i was running 8 cells??? lol
and right now im running 83/17 gearing soo what? i have a 19 tooth pinion, would that be good???? |
i know your truck ;)
the FLM pede. no you would need 14 tooth pinion or so. did i say bigger pinion? |
how big are your tires, i'll calculate for you.
|
3s should be fine on the mm.. if it does get hot, you can try a ubec.

there narrowed moabs now, and they baloon but not really bad, but they will ballon easily another 1 1/2 inch balloned and the smallest pinion i can run is 15, so do i need 86 tooth spurs? all the setting on the mm will be at the lowest possible:018: |
i would use the 90t spur, your truck will still go like stink.
|
why would i be gearing it for more torque???
and i dont really want to buy tons of stuff so idk.. i will figure it out when i get there |
i'm kinda worried with heat, cuz your pede is on the large side for the MM motor. but yeah, test it with gears you got first.
sorry if i confused you, i was only trying to help.:002: i run my mm5700 on 2s and with 4" tires. i run 12.96/1. |
yeh i understand now lol
and it really depends on how often and hard it hit the brakes makes the difference of 100 to 150 lol but one speed run and its cool again and are the limn packs worth it? i can get lipos for cheaper, but idk |
they are a tad safer, but if you dont wanna pay that much if i where you i'd just take lipo.
|
I agree, I would go Lipo too. Or get the Trak Power if you are going to 2s1p...better discharge rate for the buck too :)
If you want nice packs, get some Nimh for now, and save you bucks for lipo....it's worth it in the long run, and really, if you treat your packs well, they are not that unsafe. |
yeh but the pack in my flm pede is dented, scraped and has came unglued 4 times now lol i dont bash like a sisy i bash REALLY HARD and idk if lipo will hold up thats why im looking into the li mn
|
if your hard on your truck you dont want those unprotected packs.
you want hard casing aroun the lipo cells. there is trakpower( part of flightpower) and there is orion and peak. the latter 2 or the same brand actually. i have the orion 2s 3200, they are about 450watts continu. the trakpower is 700 watt continu. if you would get the LIMN 3s 3800mah it would be around 684 watts. so trakpower is less speed but more power(torque). chose what suits your needs, more speed, more overall power. |
well the mamba gives speed no matter what lol, so overall power is what id want, good run times to, with out being worried if my packs are okay
|
when you have lower rpm you can also gear more towards speed, that if the pack can deliver what the MM wants.
so then the trakpower would shine if you ask me. or the 5800 2s or 3s LIMN. |
