mm is being HORRIBLE
hey well idk what the hell is wrong but the rusty will cog SO bad it wont move. so i turn the truck off unplug the black wire plug it in and were good to go. but then like 10 seconds later it does the same thing! pretty much when i stop it does it. i was at the track today and couldnt go around one time because of it!!
im not sending it in the cc because last time i did it took over a month to get it back... no thanks... lmk what i might be able to do to fix it!! VIDEO!! http://video.google.com/videouploadf...1e22bab6204d48 |
Man that's not good... I would check over all the connectors.. maybe resolder anything not factory.
What happens if you reboot without unplugging the black wire? Does it only work again if you unplug/replug this wire? I wonder if the caps are fried or something is wrong with the motor. When you plug in the battery, is there a spark? There should be. If there is no spark, the caps are shot. I don't know man... I have never seen anything like this with the stock setup. |
ill check all that in a sec! on the fone with my g/f... lol
thanks man! |

Try setting the motor timing to "lowest"
|
lol my g/f always goes number one :005:
its on the lowest right now... im going to go get some shrink wrap tomorow and make everything tight... i got wires goin everywhere.. hopefully that will help a little! |
That so NOT racist...(note sarcasm)
|
set it to "normal", run it, then set back to "lowest"
|
If it was running fine before, messing with the timing isn't going to fix anything. It MIGHT lessen the symptom, but I don't think it will fix the problem. I had a similar problem recently and it turned out that the Deans on my ESC was glazed over. I changed the plug and all was fine again.
|
well i am changing the deans once i get the shrink wrap tomorow...hopefully that is the problem...
|
Did you tried another battery pack?
|
ya they all do it.. the ones with less power (6 cell gp3300s) do it the worst... so idk really what it could be
|
You have got the LVC disabled? If yes; try enabling it and disabling it again.. Perhaps something is wrong with it...
|
idk ill check tomorow! bed time for me!!
thanks for all your help guys! |
mm is being horrible UPDATE!! vid now!
hey well i got bored of trying to fix it so i made a vid of what its doing. i think if i got rid of those wire things and either A. just soldered together the wire so it could never malfuntion. or B. i put another plug on there... that better not void cc warranty....
well the video is uploading..... ill edit this post as soon as it gets done! ok video time!!! http://video.google.com/videouploadf...1e22bab6204d48 |
From the video, it looks like the black connector is bad / failing and making intermittent contact. Try resoldering the bullet connectors on both sides of the connection.
|
well will that void the warrantee? i would have done it by now just dont wanna kill my warranty.
|
Yes you have a bad connection on that motor connector. The fact that it works perfectly when you hold the connector together prooves it. You can resolder the connections without voiding the waranty. I repalced my connectors with 5.5mm bullets and when I retuned it for waranty I just cut them off and returned it with no connectors and they didnt say anything.
I looks like it is for sure a bad connection. If reslodering it doesnt work, then try replacing the connector all together on both sides. The motor and the controller side. If that doesnt fix it you can always just direct sloder the wires together and then shink wrap the connection as long as you are not moving the system around to different vehicles this is actually the bast way. If you direct solder on connection do them all. Its best to have them all the same. |

just use a blade and sslice open the shrink tube on both connectors and peel it back for inspection. If there's a weak spot (and I bet money there is) just cut both connectors off and replace them with new ones.OIf it's obvious the wire is coming loose and that's the problem and not the connector itself you can clean them up and reuse them. Make sure you re-cover the connectors with shrink tube. You could use tape but it gets messy after a while and can slide off |

cool. will do that then. ill probably just end up doing a direct solder then shrink wrapping it. maybe ill go to radio shack and find a connector or something. for right now i just electrical taped the black wires and now it runs good as new!! I LOVE IT!!

When I need to lengthen motor wires, I used these. I remove the metal insert (use an Xacto to slice down the middle of the plastic case and push the metal part out), tin the insides so about 3/4 of it is filled with solder, insert/solder the wire in there, and then heatshrink the whole thing. It works well and makes a clean inline wiring look with only a slight bump in the heatshrink. You can see what it looks like here - look at curve of the motor wires.
|
o wow that is very clean. im sure i have soe of those around my house!!
thanks! |
100% connection problem.
If you want to solve it the best way, ditch the connectors, straight solder each wire. Easy fix. Connectors are always a weak link. |
yaaa boy! already fixed! did what brian said!!
thanks! |
hey brian thats a good idea for direct soldering.. buggy looks good and clean!!
hey maxx glad you got it fixed bro. phil |
Thanks Phil. I posted more pics in my buggy thread if you want to see more pics...
Yeah, it's not exactly direct soldering, but it's the next best thing, easy to do, clean, and is relatively easy to undo should the need arise. I've been running the Revo with wires like that with no problems. You just have to make sure the solder connection is good. |
