Hey guys, i finally had some time to progress on this thing! It is RTR and it is a bundle of power! I dont like how the esc is positioned, but it will do. The battery compartment is solid, and i will do a little more work on it to take off some excess weight, such as on the aluminum hold up peice for the top little "smiley face" as i call it. No more blabblering, time for pics! :)

jollyjumper 02.17.2007 04:56 PM

nice work, keep it up.
did you test it yet?

Sylvester 02.17.2007 04:57 PM

In my basement, brakes are amazing, as for accel, well, my hardwood floor is probably crying right now.. ;)

nieles 02.17.2007 04:57 PM

very nice

i like your battery mount

jollyjumper 02.17.2007 04:59 PM

:p

Sylvester 02.17.2007 04:59 PM

9920/UBEC on a 1950 7T hi-amp, single 4s2p 8000mah maxamps lipo pack. She isnt too heavy, either! She is a bit under 10lbs, for me, thats an accomplishment!

jollyjumper 02.17.2007 05:02 PM

how many KV is the 1950/7 hi-amp?
thanks.

Sylvester 02.17.2007 05:03 PM

1867.. there is no difference in kv with the hi-amp/non hi-amp. (just so you know)

jollyjumper 02.17.2007 05:04 PM

oh i see, i didnt know it was the same.
i tought i read somewhere that they are different Kv.

Sylvester 02.17.2007 05:06 PM

Nope, they are the same! What i love about the lehner/bk combo is that there is close to zero cogging.. Even at low throttle i can drive with no problems, after it passes around 1mph, its rolling!

jollyjumper 02.17.2007 05:08 PM

do you have any other 1/8th BL systems?

Sylvester 02.17.2007 05:09 PM

Nope, only other r/c i have is a FT B4 with a MM5700 on 2s2p 8000mah lipo.

jollyjumper 02.17.2007 05:11 PM

ok, thanks.
btw, does a lehner 1940 have a 4mm or 5mm shaft?

Sylvester 02.17.2007 05:12 PM

AGAIN with the shafts... ;) They are 4mm.

i have a 12020 and a Quark 125 on a g2r revo with a 1950 8t
with the quark there is really no cogging even if i hold the truck with my foot the wheels just spin but zero cogging. with the bk there is a little bit of cogging

did you made that battery holder from a solid block?

jollyjumper 02.17.2007 05:15 PM

damn thats anoying. wont buy one for that reason.
do a 1940 and 1950 differ much in power output?

Sylvester 02.17.2007 05:21 PM

@nieles - Yea, there is a bit off cogging in the 9920/12020, but it is very minimal, especially with the lehners. It started out as a solid block of nylon. I turned it into a nice home for my lipo:)

@jolly - Both 1940/50 are very powerfull motors, it really depends what you are running, with a heavy truggy i chose a 1950 since it is longer and technically has more torque, and i had it second-hand anyway so yeah;) Shorter motors can spool up faster so there is a little trade off, but all in all, im happy.

jollyjumper 02.17.2007 05:32 PM

i got the MT with direct drive coming soon like your lsp.:D :dft012:

Dont make me measure them... lol

jollyjumper 02.17.2007 05:45 PM

i think we both would NOT wanna put them side by side on the table, ROFLOL;)

jollyjumper 02.17.2007 05:47 PM

wich pinion and spur are on the truck?
thanks.

cemetery gates 02.17.2007 07:04 PM

Looking good man! Cant wait to finish mine, just need the lipos...

Bye:018:

Sylvester 02.17.2007 07:07 PM

Jolly - the gearing is 16/44

Cemetary - thanks man! I wish we could run together! Im sure we would be very similar in speed wise. Are you finished the whole conversion apart from the lipo compartment?

If mike has another bash this summer (I hope he will!) we could meet there, if you could make it.

Yes, every thing is done except lipos. I might order them tonight (still undecided on which ones)...

Bye:018:

Serum 02.17.2007 07:15 PM

Looking good Sylvester! that's one large chunck of Nylon on it! I enjoyed converting the LSP's i did.

1940/1950; 1950 has got the same power/torque as a 2230. they are the bomb. 1940 is plenty for an MT/truggy

Sylvester 02.17.2007 09:20 PM

Thanks Rene! Large chunk, but amazingly light! (only 43 grams). Are you doing any more LSP's, Rene? I didnt know that the 1950 had the power of a 2230? Isnt the rotor bigger on the 2230? Or is it because the 2230 is a bit shorter than the 1950?

jnev 02.17.2007 10:43 PM

I have got to hand it to you on this on; but that is one of the nicest conversions I have seen in a long while. Looks incredable and and will probably perform even better.

Thanks man! Love these kind of comments! :) BTW, hope you finish your project soon enough too! :)

jnev 02.17.2007 11:03 PM

It is getting so irritatign only haveing one workign rc, lol. Mike should be recieving the buggy within the next two days probably. So then, hopefully the mount will get done fairly quickly. Anyone know approximately how long it takes for Mike to make a motor mount? I am assuming 2 - 3 weeks.

Sorry to get off topic.

Mike.L 02.17.2007 11:27 PM

nice dom, been looking forward to seeing it. Now i have to come over some time and see it for real:)

Sylvester 02.18.2007 09:11 AM

Thanks. Getting a first full run out of it at work, wish me luck! ;)

nbcaznmaster 02.18.2007 10:08 AM

Niccceee job sly! remember VIDEOS!

Sylvester 02.19.2007 05:16 PM

Gotta get a cam first nbcazn!

Well i got some runtime out of it. All i have to say is WOW! This thing really rips, but i did notice one thing, at the beggining of the run when my packs were cold it would stutter if i punched the throttle, but after they warmed up i didnt notice it any more. I thought it was the lvc that was kicking in.

Serum 02.19.2007 05:20 PM

What battery packs are you using?

Serum 02.19.2007 06:52 PM

I see. 4S2P maxamps 4K. they should be capable of about 250-275 watts per cell before they hit bellow the 3V mark. pulling 2200 watts is quite something, i can't imagine that's the case.

nbcaznmaster 02.19.2007 07:11 PM

Warm up the packs with blowdryer before running, like i do with my engine. lol
