NEW Enerland Cells? 30C Continuous
Just found this quick blurb on the Enerland website. Looks like they are about to release 30C continous cells!! They don't have any details posted on it yet, just what I found in this popup calling out their new XQ cells 30C continuous packs. And the left column link that doesnt go to anything yet.
Anyone know or seen anything else on this? http://www.enerland.com/pop/popup.htm http://enerland.com/product/p1_c.php |
Awesome! this means the flightpower packs will become even better; though i don't think 110A at 3.6V per cell is considered bad... :) I can't imagine they became better.
|
Goooood i love Enerland!!!!!
:) |
It looks like this is a whole new cell based on the dimensions. It also says that the current 20C cells are now going to be improved and carry a 25C rateing.
|
:D:D:Dbump,
they are coming out now with the 25c and :004: 30c:004: at flightpower. any other that carry these cells, i saw polyquest in the links:032: :002: |
I noticed on tower yesterday that they don't show the Evo 20 4900's anymore, but do show Evo 30 4500's. I'm wondering if they'll be discontinuing the 4900's for the new Evo 30 4500's. And if so, I wonder if they'll start putting the 4500's in the Trakpower packs if they're about the same size cells. I might have to make a call to Duralite today to see what's up.
|
The 4500 seems bigger in size than the 4900 ones. I like the compact size of the 4900mah ones, though.
|
they cant replace the trakpowers with bigger cells as those wont fit in to all 1/10th scales. touring cars dont have extra room.
i actually have 2 trakpowers here, more about them later on as i do more driving with them. |
Just got off the phone with Duralite...
Flightpower has discontinued the EVO 20 4900 cells. They didn't have any information on if the Trakpowers will end up with different cells or not, but I would assume this is the case. As of right now, the only cell size I see that might fit ok in the Trakpower is the new EVO 25 3700mAh cells. Most everything else is too long to fit. I don't know what the future of the Trakpowers are, but I certainly hope they keep a package like what they have now, whether it be 4900's or something else. |
My guess is they will keep the 4900´s for their trakpowers. i don´t see a reason why they would change that. They might discontinue the ´loose´ 4900 packs.
|
They can't keep the 4900's if Enerland has stopped making them. I don't see on the Enerland website that they make a 4900 cell anymore.

I noticed these new cells say they can charge at 2C. I wonder if we can really charge at 2C?
|
All newer (20C+) cells are 2C charge capable. However, at a faster charge rate, the total number of effective cycles is reduced. Also, any imbalances in a pack are magnified two times when charging at 2C, so proper cell balance is an absolute necessity.
|
Hmm...I was going to get the Evo20 4900's...I wonder if I should just wait for the new cells?
|
I don't have any flightpower packs yet and am wondering if I should grab some 4S and/or 5S 4900 packs while I can.
|
I spoke to flightpower today on the phone, they expect the EVO30 4500s to be in UK shops in around 2 weeks, they're being assembled now.The trackpowers 4900s are getting the EVO25 formulation(still 4900mAh),and they expect they'll be in shops in around 8 weeks time.

maybe there'll be some good deals around on the existing stock of evo20 stuff too once the new ones come out, still impressive cells.
|
Mike is only carrying a very limited selection of those batts.
Only a 5s 5000 and the trakpowers. |
yeah but it means he must have an account so he can probably order in anything in the range from the distributor,it's worth asking Mike.
|
The only bad thing about the distributor (Duralite) is that they only carry a limited selection of the Flightpower packs. Otherwise, they have to order them from the UK and you'll be stuck waiting at least a couple of weeks on them.
|
I prefer if Mike could get in direct touch with Jon Badley himself.
|
Hi,
I was going to buy a couple of the 4900 packs for my off road cars. should I wait????? Thanks |
the 4900's are strong as they are.
the really deliver a 3.5V on a 110A load. |

Hi, Thanks for the fast reply. I'll order some then. I wasn't sure if there wasn't something better coming out soon that would be replacing them. Thanks |
Mike has got the trakpowers in stock; i don't know if you want those?
|
You have 1/8 off roaders?
|

Hi, That's the ones I was looking at. I will buy from Mike. will I need a balancer too??? nobady balances their LiPo packs around here. Thanks |
Captain Harlock:
Hi, I don't any more. I have a MP7 once. I am going to buy a ST-R and go brushless with it.... mostly to show the gas guys that BL is just as fast or faster than gas. I'm just waiting to see if there is a real Truggy class at our local tracks this year. (last year we had two Truggys all year) I just have 1/10th scale truck and buggies right now...all electric. Thanks |
The TrakPowers come prematched and balanced from the factory. You should keep a balancer for sensitive cases.
|
i wouldn't use the lipo packs without a balancer to be honest.
the golden balancers for the trakpower packs; they come with the needed hardware (harnass) to balance the trackpower packs. |
Hello all,
I understand the Trakpower will be upgraded with new cells in about 2 months, with no change in the capacity. Can anyone tell me what will be the improvement then? And will be the positive impact in practical use. I am also thinking about getting the Trakpower, but considering the investment, I would like to take an informed decision... Thanks :) |
they are evo 20 now, they upgrade to evo 25.
meaning, 20c constant load for the ones now. thats 98 amps. 25c constant load for the new one, is 122.5 amps. |
I am pretty sure they are the same cells;
I've seen the 5000mah packs, deliver 120A at a 3.55 or 3.6V voltage.. (which where rated 20C.) |
Ok, I see... But ASAIK in a 1/10th car application, 100A sustained is already more than enough!
Ok, I think I'll go with the current version of the Trakpower |
Yeah, for 1/10th 100A indeed is enough, but these trakpower packs can deliver 50C bursts while keeping their voltage above 3V per cell. Which is a rough 250A of power bursts.
|
Yeah, and thinking about Watts is even more impressive, talking about 700W continious and 1500W burst... that's just amaizing :004: !!!
