Got some new shoes for my Maxx.
They are the HPI Blast rims with the Phaltline tires. Handles great with them.

Here are some bigger pics.

And another.

This one too.

How 'bout a Naked one.

Compared to a stock Maxx rim.

Wide stance.

hyperasus 02.23.2007 07:03 AM

I think that is the hottest max I've seen to date. Any speed runs yet with the new tires? How is battery life with the dual brushless?

Mike.L 02.23.2007 09:25 AM

dont you ever think that dual is overkill, im shure you get used to it but still!:) It definatly looks sweet with the huge rims.

and overall!

No speed runs yet with the new rims. Just up and down the street a few times. I usualy run it for about 20 minutes at a time so I havn't had them drain on me yet (not that your supposed to let them drain but you know what I meen).

No such thing as overkill in my opinion Mike.:027: But if I want to tone it down a bit, I do have a single BL Maxx as well.:dft012: And thanks for the compliments!

6606j 02.23.2007 11:48 AM

rollin' on forties booyyyzzzz! those rims and tires are pretty slick!!

Sylvester 02.23.2007 11:50 AM

VERY nice rims Johnny! Are there any foams inside those? Those are some of the nicest rims ive seen.

Mike.L 02.23.2007 05:28 PM

what size pinion do you use?

revopqrs 02.23.2007 06:23 PM

simply awsome man!!:028: i too think thats the coolest maxx ive ever seen!

jnev 02.23.2007 06:52 PM

That thing is amazing. Awesome job with it. It must be hard to drive without wheelies with the dual motors.

JOHNNYMAXXIMA 02.24.2007 03:16 AM

Thanks guys.

Sylvester...Very low profile tires but yes, I do believe I feel foams in there.

Mike...Those are 24t pinions, and yes my friends, just in case you were wondering, that is a stock slipper!

RC...The thing does like to wheelie. Punch it from about 35-40mph and it still comes up.
I use this wheelie bar though for speed runs.

jnev 02.24.2007 03:18 AM

Did you make the wheely bar yourself? That is a very cool design. Not very many people do that. Looks to work well.

BlackedOutREVO 02.24.2007 03:22 AM

NICE!!!!!!!!! looooooow porfile man!!!!

and dual bl in a maxx!!!! hows it work as far as temps?

Serum 02.24.2007 03:25 AM

I love those phaltlands, they are sweet.. What 17 mm thingies are you using?

JOHNNYMAXXIMA 02.24.2007 03:36 AM

Yes, made the wheelie bar myself. It works really well, for street use only obviously.
Temps are fine. Might actually gear up a little more.
Rene, those are the Maximizer 17mm thingies I got from Mike.

Serum 02.24.2007 03:51 AM

I would get an extension for it!

Hey johnny any topspeed runs on this wheel/tire combo yet? I bought the wheels months ago and am waiting for the tires to arrive in the mail.HPI claims they do'nt balloon,my only reason for getting them.I'm curious to find out how 50+ mph is while still having control.

Procharged5.0 03.07.2007 08:58 PM

CRAZY!

What ESC's are you using with the dual blue nemesis motors?

JOHNNYMAXXIMA 03.08.2007 03:59 AM

Rcjmaxx, just about no balooning at all with these tires. Not a whole lot of side wall there. Handles much better than the Talons that I had on there before.
Procharged,
Those controllers are the old school Warrior 9918's.

Procharged5.0 03.08.2007 10:46 AM

What's it like to drive? I would think the power would be ridiculous!

Have you suffered much breakage?

JOHNNYMAXXIMA 03.09.2007 03:55 AM

Pretty fun to drive. Torque is about on par with your Mustang. J/K. But there is a lot of torque and a huge difference once I put the dual setup away and bring out the single BL Maxx that I have.

Everything is beefed up so I haven't had any breakage in a while. As soon as something brakes that was stock, I would upgrade right away. Still waiting for the stock slipper to go. I think that is one of the only things left that is stock on this truck.

BP-Revo 03.09.2007 09:25 PM

How in the hell are you running a stock slipper with dual brushless? Holy crap!!!

Many members of the RCM forum are PRAYING for that thing to be replaced by a strobe setup... COME ON JOHNNY, LET THAT THING RIP AND BURN OUT THAT CRUDDY SLIPPER! LOL.

JOHNNYMAXXIMA 03.11.2007 05:44 AM

LOL. Ok, maybe I'll loosen it up just a little and see what happens. I'm getting a little tired of the way the stock one looks anyway. I guess the stock one can't be too cruddy if it has lasted this long on a dual setup? Lol.

cembom 03.11.2007 07:02 AM

Very nice man. They look like dub edition wabash wheels. I like those tires aswell. Come one get an Escalade or something lol, the Lambo doesnt look good 55s lol.

hyperasus 03.11.2007 07:31 AM

Ya get the Escalade......and send that ugly Lambo shell to me LOL. I still think this is the best looking truck I've seen on this forum.

cembom 03.11.2007 07:51 AM

But is it realy a truck with the lambo shell?............. lmao

I think its because its probably welded itself to the pads and created a locked slipper lol...

But yea...I almost fell outa my computer chair when I saw that.

rcjmaxx 03.11.2007 09:11 PM

Got my new shoes.....I mean my Phaltline tires last week.I mounted them this weekend, headed down to the empty onroad track, and what a high. These things stick and handle way to sweet. No top speed runs yet but looking foward to it.
