MAXX finally running
Finally got all the parts needed and put my maxx together. Took it for a test ride on weekend and here's short video
talons had almost no chance to get decent grip on the bmx track that's covered with gravel. they were ok with titans but not with Neu. Did not have my other tires with me so next time i will try bow ties and MGT tires and we will see. ...and i need to learn how to drive this "crazy thing" as jumps are much harder to control |
Any pictures. Sounds like you had a lot of fun with it.
|
i was not taking pictures except those few ones but my friend was taking some and will post them hofeully tonight
|
Look what I just recieved
http://www.radeks.net/temp/ofna.jpg Those things are unbelievable compared to my existing BigBores and i got all 8 of them at once for $60 |
Nice! Really nice!
|
Looks like you had fun.A little practice with the throttle mid air and you'll be sticking those jumps better .I always cringe a little when I see a cartwheel at speed :032:
pinolelst :028: |
that bmx track is sweet. and hitting those jumps must, be fun!
|
i just have to get used to the different reaction in air. compared to maxx with titans
|
Everything is ready to go
8 OFNA titan shocks with softest Integy progressive springs 5400-5450g depending on batteries (Intellects are bit heavier) http://www.radeks.net/wp-content/plu...l/normal_6.jpg http://www.radeks.net/wp-content/plu...l/normal_7.jpg http://www.radeks.net/wp-content/plu...l/normal_9.jpg |
Looks very nice. I bet its a blast. How is that motor with the quark doing for you?
|
still need to test with 16 cells but it worked nicelly on 14 cells.
very smooth and power is insane. have quark set for slow start and also expos on my radio set. withou expos its a instant rocket its my first BL but can go slowly without any problems (except pushing the trigger too much :) ) |
Would love to have a place to bash like that. Must be a blast. Nice truck.
|
ok 3 more videos of fun and even some backflips on the second one

Dont know why but your link doenst work.
|
it should be ,was testing all of them or just try the homepage http://www.radeks.net
|
That looks like a lot of fun... pretty cool!..
|
The movies worked for me. That is a ncie track you got there to bash.
|
Got my Quark back from service and in the meantime i got new shoes for my maxx.
http://www.radeks.net/wp-content/plu...s.php?album=19 it has 6.5KG (14.3lbs) RTR with batteries :). each tire w/ rim is 500g |
I like. Loosk awesome with those tires.
|
Lol! yeah, these tires weight a ton, only problem is that they use a non metric allen wrench...
Nice ride Wallot! you got some smoking friends around!! :p when you jump, you need to go to 50-60 percent throttle, that way the car will stay stable in the air. if you go to WOT the truck will go backwards, and if you brake the truck will go forwards. and you can also steer in the air, you don't need a perfect straight run to the jump. if you steer to the right in the air, the truck responds to this. The heavier the tires, the better the aircontrol. Nice vids! |
I bought Integy 23mm adapter + their wrench for like a half standard price of their ebay store and beadlocks use standard 2mm hexdriver.
i found out that I have to be carefull on throttle while jumping :) not like with my stock motor setup that was so easy to control in the air. |
mine are def. not 2mm, it fits, but very, very sloppy..
|
Got a new toy
Mini Quake with mamba 25 and GH4700 motor. That thing is fast :) cant wait till I put in it 3S Lipo http://www.radeks.net/wp-content/plu...s.php?album=20 |
i have the same setup in my mini-quake w/ 3s lipo....it's awesome!
nice maxx btw |

Looking good!!!

How do these anti-roll bars give? it looks like a rigid setup to me?
|
they work like a charm. they allow little bit of play and on track help a lot keeping all wheels down
|
but what part is it that gives? looks rigid to me? got any roll-over?
|
what do you mean by what part?
no roll-overs where they were before. had one but itwas 180 degree turn withou braking :) |
I mean; a normal anti-roll bar is made from spring steel, so something absorbs the different in height of the left/right wheels, so the truck still is capable of absorbing bumps in the track; the design you are using hasn't got any spring steel parts?
You get my point/question? |
Look at the fullforce rc site
http://www.fullforcerc.com/help_page2.htm#2.5SWAYBARS its mounted on the shocktower and there is a lever with bushings between right and left side |
I see, Thanks for the link; I've seen that before thought; My thoughts on them; it's only preventing the wheels to go independent. A normal sway bar uses spring steel, so there can be individual wheel-movement. (needed for a wheel to follow a bumpy track) This design doesn't allow any individual wheelmovement between left and right. All parts are made from aluminum, which isn't a good spring, you get my point?
|
there is some independent wheel travel (about 2 cm before the other wheel goes up as well) as there is some play in the lever
it worked really nicely. i will try to make some videos next weekend (just cutting onboard cam one ) |
Cool, greatly appreciated! Thanks.
|
onboard cam video
http://www.radeks.net/?p=60 if my wife knew i put the camera on truck roofrack she would kill me :) |
LOL.. Doesn't hurt to take a camera out for a drive.. I once used a GPS of a friend, the steering glitched, and after a cartwheel of about 25 360's we decided not to put equipment on the truck again..
I heard lots of good stories about onboard camera's, some small ones deliver a great quality. |
Its nikon 7600. maybe some small panasonic with anti-shake will work will. i'll have a look it it works also during video mode
|
I know Casio has got the 'steady shot' during camera mode.
