Micro T on the way

Whats up guys. I got a Micro T that should be on the way pretty soon. I had planned on going LiPo and BL obviously....I heard that the little gold Feigao motors and a CC Thunderbird 9 work well in them. Anybody know anymore about that? I don't know about the ESC since its intended for planes, but...

Also, what hopups should I be lookin at for durability, etc?

jnev 02.26.2007 12:56 AM

I have wanted a micro-t too for a little while now. They look just so much fun. As for upgrades, ask "emaxx rocks" about that. He has a ton of upgrades on his micro-t.

squeeforever 02.26.2007 12:56 AM

Doesn't he have a Mini-T and not a Micro-T?

jnev 02.26.2007 01:01 AM

I am positive he has a micro-t. He may have a mini-t as well though.

I PMed him to go to this topic.

BlackedOutREVO 02.26.2007 01:07 AM

i didnt get any pm's but i found it lol

squee, i have bolth and i love them! the micro i nice, and its a tough lil car, but some ppl have ones that break alot and others (me) dont have nay probs, i dont run lipos tho, i have TONS of mods done and its atleast 2 times as fast then the stock stuff

dont get the Thunderbird 9, its bad and doesnt work nearely as well as a mamba 25, i have asked tons of ppl and they all say the same thing

pm me if u want the list of mods if u want to do them, and i really say u do!

EDIT, found ur pm rc, on rcbros lol

squeeforever 02.26.2007 01:14 AM

Thanks. Yea, I would like the list of mods if you don't mind.

BlackedOutREVO 02.26.2007 01:16 AM

ight! let me find one old pm with all them lol im not typing all them again, then i will pm them

but parts that go for everyone with probs are the carriers (theres al ones) and the rear hubs, and the lil mounts for the arms, all of them u can get in al so if u do have a prob u can fix them

i also say u get the nut kit for the wheels, otherwise u have to take off a microscopic e clip

BlackedOutREVO 02.26.2007 01:40 AM

Hope you don't mind me riding along on your coat tails on this one. I have a micro t on the way already. My lipos are in hand as well as the threaded axles. My feigao should be here next week.

If you could shoot that list of mods my way too I sure would appreciate it.

BlackedOutREVO 02.26.2007 01:47 AM

shure man! give me a few mins

riceman 02.26.2007 02:10 AM

Nice list of aluminum. Gonna get me some of those front and rear mounts for sure. An alternative to the axles HERE. I know Hot Racing and quality parts are not usually used in the same sentence but - c'mon - how strong do these really have to be?

BP-Revo 02.26.2007 02:11 AM

I have a brand new in box Micro-T that I don't want if anyone is interested. Just send me a PM.

I dont think the thunderbird would work too well, but I think the Pheonix-10 would work well. Or maybe the Thunderbird 18 instead of the 9.

BlackedOutREVO 02.26.2007 02:14 AM

the mamba 25 is best! more expensive but everything works better.. and why did u buy it to not use it bp?

yeh either ones are good, just the nut is the diff imo, and those are at the toyz, just found thos first lol

HummerMan 02.26.2007 02:35 AM

The Hot Racing ones have aluminum nuts with them, while the ones linked from Toyz appear to be plastic.... Might need to buy some parts for my Micro. But you are forgetting the ball bearing upgrade that Team Losi has for the wheel hubs.

BlackedOutREVO 02.26.2007 02:43 AM

yeh i know i forgot, idk what kind of bearings ppl use so i didnt post any

BP-Revo 02.26.2007 03:09 AM

Well, I was originally going to race around with my buddies in our house's by setting up some jumps, cones, etc. but none of them bought one. I haven't even bothered opening it since I don't think it would be much fun unless you are racing against someone.

BlackedOutREVO 02.26.2007 03:11 AM

i have tons of fun with mine by my self..

elegal 02.26.2007 08:46 AM

You need to upgrade the hubs, arms and steering links if those parts are available, i broke all three of these the first day i had my microT. No jumping, just driving around full throttle. It sails if you hit something as small as an acorn.

HummerMan 02.26.2007 12:07 PM

LOL, you guys just have to realize how small it is... I drive mine quite a bit and I am still on factory parts. Nice and easy...

squeeforever 02.26.2007 07:01 PM

I intend on getting just about everything for it, but here is what I'll get pretty soon:

This

This

These

These

and this

Sorry for not typing what they were. :p I'm feeling a littel lazy right now.

BlackedOutREVO 02.26.2007 07:20 PM

man! goin all out lol :D

sounds good, what speedo are u going to get?

squeeforever 02.27.2007 09:27 AM

I'm thinking a Quark 22

jhautz 02.27.2007 09:54 AM

If you pull the plastic case off of the Quark 22 and just shrink wrap it it will save you some valuable space on that tiny little truck. The mamba is still actually smaller because it doesnt have a heat sink.

I actually got a Micro-t when they came out and I used it like 3 times then quickly got bored with it.

Maybe I'll have to consider going brushless and lipo too. :018:

nativepaul 09.28.2007 08:17 AM

I'm considering one of these too, how do you hook up a BL ESC to the RX/ESC combo board it comes with? Or are taking it out and fitting it with a septate micro RX? What lipo will fit? Does the RX/ESC board have an LVC?

The stock board combines Rx and Esc duties and will not work with a BL motor. You'll need to replace the board with a BL controller and in doing so you'll either have to re-wire the stock 4 pin steering servo or replace it with a different one.

Here is how I did it.

VintageMA 09.28.2007 10:36 AM

I did a BL conversion of my micro-t about 7-8 months ago. I would say to not bother adding too much aluminum to the car as it will really weigh it down. Parts I was glad I upgraded - shocks (go AtomicRC), ball-bearings in the wheels, threaded axles.

Even on 2S lipo (i built a pack using 2 250mAh Enerland cells from bphobbies.com - tight fit but work very nicely and last for 40+ minutes) the Feiago motor has a lower kv rating than the stock motor, so it won't have as muh speed. You'll need to gear up with the highest pinion and you'll have some speed and great punch.

I would actually consider checking out the new micro-t that Losi just put up on their site:
http://www.teamlosi.com/Products/Def...rodID=LOSB0233
It looks pretty cool and has a slightly longer wheelbase, so much a little more room to mount things.

With my conversion (I'll post a pic tonight) I actually managed to squeeze in 2S-250mAh lipo, a Novak XXtra synthesized fm receiver (case removed), a Mamba25 esc (you have to re-move and re-solder the capacitor so that it fits - no easy task as the solder CC seems to use on the cap has a very high melting point), and a micro-servo with a 3-wire connector.

t-maxxracer32 09.29.2007 12:49 AM

ive heard brushless is not the way to go on the one18th forum because it wont make it too much faster for the price. get the BB motor and call it good (that is what ive heard)

VintageMA 09.29.2007 08:55 AM

4 Attachment(s)
I actually will not make it faster, but it will make it way more efficient (close to 2x the runtime on the same batteries). Even if you get the BB version of the brushed motor it still sucks down a lot of current.

Besides - it's just fun to do it.

t-maxxracer32 09.29.2007 11:38 AM

o well they forgot to mention that on the site! haha!

nativepaul 09.29.2007 05:51 PM

Anyone know what KV the stock and BB motors are? The fastest feiago 120 motor does 5,800rpm/V but losi have small BL motors available in 8,750rpm/V and 10,250rpm/V HERE those may be as fast or faster than the ferrites.

BlackedOutREVO 09.29.2007 05:57 PM

WOA!!!!

Those MUST be new!

Nice find! I want one of those motors!

nativepaul 09.29.2007 06:27 PM

Yeah I found them in the new products section when I was looking for more on the micro desert racer. there's a 8,750kv/ESC combo for $50 too, seems like a good deal, but I didn't see the same deal on the 10,250kv combo :-( I don't really like the desert racer, it's narrow like a touring car but with a high CoG it looks laterally unstable compared to the normal one, and an inch doesn't sound much but in the top view it looks like a large percentage of the wheelbase, that's got to negatively effect sharp corners and mine will run inside a fair proportion of the time so tight handling is probably better for me than extra stability on the straights. http://www.teamlosi.com/ProdInfo/Gal...B0233-GAL5.jpg
I do love those wheels tho, hope you'll be able to get them separate soon. http://www.teamlosi.com/ProdInfo/Gal...B0233-GAL6.jpg

BlackedOutREVO 09.29.2007 07:00 PM

A 2s lipo, and the 8750kv motor would be awsome in the desert truck

VintageMA 09.29.2007 09:08 PM

Those motors are totally new - that's really cool. Now I want one.

t-maxxracer32 09.29.2007 11:25 PM

imo that desert rat is fugly.
body is horrible and the rims... eh...

VintageMA 09.30.2007 12:14 AM

I can't be sure, but I recall reading somewhere that the kv of the brushed micro-t motor was around 9000.
