http://www.maxamps.com/proddetail.ph...48-Pack&cat=13

is this batt good enough for a basher revo. its what i can afford right now and i want to get my revo up and running finnally

Depends on the motor and gearing, but I would get the 8000mah instead. I run the 4s 8000 in my maxx

Are you going to be running a single battery pack or two in series? Anyway, the 5K cells are supposed to be the latest hot thing at maxamps and they packs/cells are usually very good bang for the buck. What setup are you running?

Looneybin 04.16.2007 02:05 PM

8xl/mamba maxx/stock tranny locked in 2nd. i would really like to run one pack. thanks for the quick response.

I haven't tried the newer "copper" tab cells. I do have a couple of the pre-copper tab packs and with an 8XL, we were able to heat the 8Ah packs up pretty good in an 8ight. Your revo should weigh about as much as the 1/8 scale buggy. I'd go with the 8Ah pack(s). They can handle more current draw.

I'm using a Maxamps 4s 5000mah pack in my Hyper 8 right now. So far I've only done street driving (with Road Rages that are quickly going bald), but it seems to be quite a powerful battery. Best of all, the hottest cell (one that was covered up) has not exceeded 100 deg. F.

Those the new copper tab cells?

MetalMan 04.17.2007 12:06 AM

They are supposed to be.

bdebde 04.17.2007 12:40 AM

Guess I better try one!

Looneybin 04.26.2007 01:27 PM

this will mainly see parking lot assphalt, gravel driveway, occasional track session. i want to try the 4s 5000mah because i can afford the thing and i want the conveinence of one batt to worry about. thanks. i would hate to sell this thing just because i don't want to deal with the battery issues but maybe a bl stampede or something would be better for a beginner. oh well i am going to go with the 5mah and let yall know if it doesn't work out i may post this thing up for one of you to get your hands on.

bdebde 04.26.2007 03:26 PM

got a couple runs on my new 4s maxamps 5000HV, seems to be a decent batt, geared 14/46 with 7XL gets it about 100* or so, perfect.

Revo_crazy231 05.06.2007 09:53 PM

not trying to thread jack but do u have the choice of running 1 pack or 2 or is there diffrent setops i plan on gettin a mm w/ an 8xl but if i get the 7.4v lipo maxxamps 8000mAH should i get one or two????

i want good speed and long runtimes if possible

thanks and again sry im not trying to take over your thread

bdebde 05.07.2007 10:55 AM

you will need to use 2 7.4v batts in series for the 8XL or you can use one 14.8v pack.

Revo_crazy231 05.07.2007 07:08 PM

cool, thanks

Trick440 05.07.2007 08:52 PM

What kind of runtimes are you guys getting off these batteries?

Finnster 05.09.2007 09:35 AM

I would also look at the 6400mah packs @ TrueRC. Make sure you get the 45mm wide ones.

I have a pair of these in series (for a 4S saddle pack) and they are really nice for the price. If you ask I'm sure he could make them into a 4s2p pack as well (or just make your own y cable.)

They are $80 for a 2s2p pack. I'm using them now in my basher Revo and I'm very satisfied. I get ~25min or so of speed runs, but ~1hr bashing around. The 30% extra mah in trade for a couple hundred grams is worth it IMO for a basher.

Edit: Also the 4S2P 10C 8000mah pack for $140 is not bad as well for a cheaper pack. They are 50mm wide tho, so it may or may not fit the chassis depending on how you converted it. My 5S config uses these cells and they have tons of power, even for just a 10C. Something to consider for a low cost basher pack w/ lots of runtime.
