Brushless Mirco Boat

4 Attachment(s)
Well I have never seen a brushless boat on this form, so I figured I would post mine:

I bough the hull from here: http://206.206.85.209/xtdoc/Details....H&store=mhzusa

I am using a Mamba 25 ESC, with this motor: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJAB4&P=7

I have it set up with a 2cell Lipo and 33mm carbon prop. It very small, fast and a lot fun.!

Enjoy!

Very cool. It says it is just over a foot, so it should be great in ponds/lakes where there isn't very much room.:027:

BrianG 04.17.2007 11:13 PM

Looks very nice. Sure is a lot simpler than a car! How's the runtime? I've heard that boats can suck some serious current...

Team X 04.18.2007 10:21 AM

It is great in small golf coruse ponds
The run time with the lipo is about 10 to 15 min, that is with doing a lot of high speed runs

BrianG 04.18.2007 10:33 AM

Do you have some sort of soft cutoff so you can get it back to shore when the battery dumps? Unless you like to go swimming. :)

Team X 04.18.2007 11:05 AM

No, The secound the ESC cut's off I can tell and bring her back in or I use my other boat to go get it

BrianG 04.18.2007 11:46 AM

Yeah, I suppose you could wait a minute or two after the ESC cuts out to let the battery voltage increase a bit and then get it running long enough to get it back...

Team X 04.18.2007 02:19 PM

Yep, that's what I do

aqwut 04.18.2007 02:22 PM

Cool, tha'ts a pretty sweet idea... I gotta try something like that out.. Have you hit any big waves yet?..

Team X 04.18.2007 04:23 PM

Ihave jumped it about 1 to 2 feet out of the water, but you have to make sure it lands right side up. Boats are a lot of fun, something diffrent

Procharged5.0 04.18.2007 04:27 PM

I like it! I almost bought a brushless hydroplane last week. But was outbid at the last second! :019:

Team X 04.18.2007 04:30 PM

Thanks, a bl hrydoplan now that would be fast!

Procharged5.0 04.18.2007 04:36 PM

It was supposed to be capable of 80+ with a Lehner 1940.

Yikes!

Team X 04.18.2007 04:39 PM

WOW, that is fast

aqwut 04.19.2007 07:27 AM

Cool.. but that little boat can't handle that kind of speed.... I saw some nasty brushless boats out there.. but just haven't even thought of a micro one.. :)

I am thinking about getting one of these, I want something that is self-righting;

http://206.206.85.209/xtdoc/Details....H&store=mhzusa

How is the ESC/Motor/ Prop combination working out for you?

Team X 04.23.2007 05:40 PM

The Mamba and Motor are great, the set up work very well. It is right on the boarder line of haveing to much power. The props are nice I would order 2 or so eaxtra props when you place your order

rhinopole 04.23.2007 05:54 PM

Where did you buy the prop? I don't see that size listed on the MHZ website.

Also, what size mah lipo's did you use?

Thanks.

Team X 04.23.2007 05:58 PM

this is where I got the prop: http://206.206.85.209/xtdoc/Details....R&store=mhzusa
I use a 1900mah 2 cell lipo pack from Thunder Power.

rhinopole 04.23.2007 06:26 PM

Ok, I see them....but that is for a 31mm prop. I thought you were using a 33mm?

Team X 04.23.2007 06:51 PM

I am useing a 31mm prop. I was wrong in my frist post

Now with video,
Sorry the video is not the best, I was filming with one hand and driving with the other:

Isn't the world record now held by a Lehner powered boat (they always have set the records). It was a T Hydro, doesn't say what motor though, I would think at least 2250, or a 3060? 140 mph !!!!!
