Which should I go with?
2 Attachment(s)
Hi, Guys..
Me and my friends are going to open up a new on road track specified for electric onroaders only and I want to eat them up during the race. Now that I'm going to have a clean track, I'm thinking about buying a new touring car. My eyes are set on two cars. One is a belt driven electric, the other is a high end nitro machine which if I buy, I'll convert it to brushless with Mike's help. The electric one is X-Ray's T2'007 EU edition. The Nitro is Kyosho's V-ONE RRR EVO WC edition. Thanks! Alawi El-Jifri :) |
I would go for the Kyosho. I have not had experience with either, but my guess would be that the belt driven X-ray may not be strong enough to handle serious brushless power.
I also think the kyosho would just be stronger due to the fact of it being originally designed to take the abuse of nitro. |
I'm not much of an onroad guy (except with offroad vehicles with onroad tires), but I voted for the Kyosho. It should have more room for batteries, which could come in handy if you ever wanted to do some very fast speed runs :).
|
I voted for the Xray, because being electric its more efficient in design. I'm lazy by nature and nitro conversions, to me, are nice but too time consuming. Please don't think i hate them, just like electrics better, except for my G2R
|
Interesting.
I need some more people to vote. Also, WHERE'S MIKE?!!! |
well I voted kyosho, simply because of the nitro drive train.. and it's always fun to see other's conversions. but, that makes 3 of us that voted kyosho, but there's only 2 votes kyosho in the poll???
|
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
moore speed wce cyclone!!!!! thats kicking everyones ass!!! when there all set up right, there WAAY faster then the xrays, there more money, but u get what u pay for! |
of those two, one isnt correctly built for electric racing.
a nitro has different geometry wich isnt suited to electric touring drivin style. ( yes, it is different style of driving ) maybe on foams it works but not on rubber. also, an xray is a very strong car. but if you want the absolute best performance, you may wanna get a newer car. like the new tamiya 415msxxx, or the HB cyclone wce. byby, mike. |
yes, xray is the budget end racer, along with the tc5, corrally, and schuey, those are all under 400 bucks, cyclone just cyclone got cheap at stormer i think, 250 for the old kit, i did the moore speed cuz its the newest, purple is sweet, and i had money to do top of the line for once
|
xray is by no means budget minded, its just affordable performance.
and it still kick's major @$$. |
FYI a completely hopped up X-Ray T2'007 machine would easily top 800 dollars without electronics and motor. It's aluminum steering blocks, up rights and the other options are simply astonishing and they're all made of pure high quality 7075 T6 aluminum.
If I'm gonna get the XRay or the Cyclone, my setup is every single hop up with a TrackPower, 1920/4 and a R1 PRO controller. If I'm gonna get the Kyosho, I'll first ask Mike to convert it and then put in a 1930/5 with 3s FP Evo30 and a R1 Pro controller. This one will ROCK!!! and it won't even cost me as much as the electric ones. I just did not decide yet which to take. I'll have to consider the Cyclone, too. It's truely an awsome machine, indeed...:) |
Bought the X-Ray!!!:)
|
i would go with the xray because it looks amazing and it drives better than it looks and it has dominated every onroad champion ship for a good time.
|
xrays are better beacuse they are already desinged to hold the elecs and it will lock more "factoryish"
|
Personally, I would have went with the Moore Speed, but the X-Ray is the next best thing...
|
Why the moore speed?
I also wanted the Cyclone, but after a bit of comparison, it seems that all the electric touring cars are built in the same manner. I chose the X-Ray since most of my friends run them and they've loads of optional part. The only thing that makes the Cyclone SM better than the t2'007 is that it comes fully loaded with optional parts at a reasonable price, but in the end it seems like a matter of taste, I guess..:) |
congrats, i have 2 myself but dont run them.:005:
byby, mike. |

moore speed is a better car, xray is there when set up, but a properly set up cyclone takes the win, ppl at my track are faster with there cyclone over there t2 07..........but xrays good, just cheaper to buy, u get what u pay for. plus, ms, its purple lol any pics? how much cf are u going to seal besides the chassis? |
What do you mean by sealing?
I might just sell the T2'007 if the MS is much better. Any way, I only need a nice belt driven car to race with my friends, otherwise, touring cars, from my own point of view, simply SUCK!!! :) |
well suck... u suck man. there WAAAY FUN!
and u have to seal the graphite stuff |
Each one has his own flavour, my friend. I've driven touring cars for years, but they're too sensitive for me.
Buggies, truggies and monster trucks are my favorite worlds. |
I'd like to try a touring car out but I really want to test drive one before I buy one.
For now, I'd have to say MT/Truggies are my favorite, though the Jato is a hell fo a truck and is right up there. I loved my T-Maxx ever since I bought it (and still have it!). With the Powerstrokes its loads of fun. Does really well in off road environments - its a great basher. My Revo 2.5R is my favorite nitro by far - has never let me down. For electrics, my E-Maxx was great, but it wasn't all that durable. Then I sold it and got my G2R, and this is and probably always will be my favorite truck. It handles like its on rails, is stable as a rock, and, when my 1950 gets here, will be faster than hell. I loved bringing this down to my local track (which is built for 1/10 Stadium Trucks and Buggies (electric only) and smoking everyone. Only the fastest of the BL Buggise can keep up. I can't wait to run it at Hot Box (a true MT track), should be loads of fun - and I shouldn't have any trouble clearing stuff with the 1950. :D |

i guess man.............................. |
Guys, FYI, I sold my X-Ray T2'007 to my friend and got a Cyclone Moore speed, instead.
My setup is going to be a Mamba Max + LMT 1920/5 + TP4900mah lipo. What do you think? |
SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
make shure when u build it the lil hexes that go around the bering on the diff oor spool u put them so the belt is tight |
What about the Corally RDX PHI? Great car. Improvement on the amazing RDX, which I didn't know could happen.
