Crt .5 mount in store!

Hey guys just saw the new mount mike just listed!

I can wait to see what he has in store for the spur issue! :)

BrianG 05.09.2007 10:59 AM

Sweet! I knew it wouldn't be long. The spur solution shouldn't be too far behind...

skellyo 05.09.2007 11:26 AM

Awesome, now I only need the spur, pinions and a motor...unless I use my 380C 9T.

Jon 05.09.2007 12:03 PM

okay... we're almost there. I want to place 1 order: mount, spur conversion and pinions (which pitch to buy). It is nice to see the mount. Holding off till the spur is done....

I went ahead and ordered the mount. It's risky to wait since Mike could go out of stock on the mounts by the time the spur is ready.

BlackedOutREVO 05.09.2007 01:25 PM

DARN! u beat me LOL

ohh well, looks AWSOME! and cheap!

Jon 05.09.2007 04:22 PM

Will this mount be compatible with the new (soon to be available) spur options? I assume so, however thought it better to be certain.

thats great news, I will have to take a look at it.

jnev 05.09.2007 06:01 PM

Sweet!! Too bad I scraped this project and am finishing the buggy... but then again, finishing the buggy isn't bad.

The idea is to use a plastic spur that will allow the use of the factory chassis holes - so, the spur will be a custom type that will allow this. However, I don't expect the spur to be as cheap as the typical Kyosho since it will be custom.

With the hardened pinions i don't think you really need a plastic spur anymore. They seem to be tough.

BrianG 05.10.2007 10:25 AM

They do seem tough, providing mesh is correct and consistent (no flex). I just wonder about longevity compared to plastic on steel. Also, they're louder when running. Still much quieter than a nitro though. :)

Jon 05.10.2007 03:03 PM

Where can I get mod 1 hardened 1/8 bore pinions? I do not see them on Mike's site.

Thanks...
Jon

Serum 05.10.2007 03:35 PM

they are currently only available in 5mm bore, maybe soon in 3.2 (1/8th)

BrianG 05.10.2007 04:01 PM

Mike does have (or can get/make) a little adaptor sleeve that lets you use 1/8" shaft on a 5mm bore.

gizzmo79 05.14.2007 06:30 PM

i cant finde the hardened 5mm bore pinions! can any one pleas give me a link?

jnev 05.14.2007 09:49 PM

Just scroll down on this page:
http://www.rc-monster.com/gears.php
There are only a couple options though. You can email Mike to make a specific one you need though.

IBJAMMIN 05.14.2007 10:25 PM

They removed the listing and put all the 5mm mod1 pinions together click please select and there is a 16t and 20t hardened pinion. :)

AAngel 05.19.2007 02:42 AM

Are these hardened steel pinions the real deal. Will these allow me to go back to the steel spur gears? I just want to make sure, since they are kind of pricey.

gizzmo79 05.23.2007 01:47 PM

Does any one know when the spur and the pinion wil be in store?

IBJAMMIN 05.23.2007 09:15 PM

If you want to get your BL CRT.5 conversion going get a hardened pinion and from the looks of it they should hold up with the steel spur till the new spurs do come out. Depending on the motor your going to run there is a few hardened pinion choices avalible. :)

Jon 05.24.2007 04:25 PM

Do we know if the Century pinions are truely "hardened"? I was looking at Tower again and the material for all sizes except the 14 state "Hardened Steel". Mike only lists two left in his store that are "Hardened".

I found a 14 tooth pinion locally so I'm trying that as soon as I get 2 hours alone to finish my truck.
