Great News! Pics of BL CR Progress!
Well, turns out I wasn't shorted screws, just got a mis-marked manual.
Anyways, still have a cracked center diff, but here is what it looks like so far. http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u...mminX1CRBL.jpg http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u...minX1CRBL2.jpg http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u...downtravel.jpg http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u...RBLAMAZING.jpg http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u...downtravel.jpg http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u...RBLAMAZING.jpg http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u...mminX1CRBL.jpg http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u...minX1CRBL2.jpg |
you have to turn the motor mount 180 degrees.
because now the bearing can go to the outside. if you turn the bearing will be "locked" between the two mounts. |

I also thought he had the mount on backwrds LOL. |
It's just a mock up, I just threw it on to see how everything would fit, and so I could measure where to cut the radio plate.
But thanks for telling me. |
Looks good. Can't wait to see it all done. What system will go into it?
|
looks awsome supra!
whats the batt try goin to be made of? |
Nice project man! that's going to be one nice racer. You figured out a way to mount the batteries?
|
RC: The elecs set up will be a MM with a Fegio 8xl and 14/46 gearing.
E-maxx, I'm not quite sure WHAT yet, but I got the HOW down, lol. Serum: Yea, and this is the first ever project where things fit better than expected, lol. I'm going to mount 2, 6 cell sideXside packs with the battery bars facing down on each mud guard. Then, I'm going to cut slits in each guard for velcro. Then, I haven't decided with what yet, I'll make a battery holder similar to the one IBJAMMIN has on his CRT .5 and that SICK carbon fiber one you have one your Revo. |
Nice to see someone else converting a CR too. Watching your progress with interest... :)
|
Nice progress! Good luck with the rest of the project!
|
More pics, pre-build. I was saving them, but since people are interested.....;)

nice pics to! id say good luck but its just needs electronics lol, so good luck there hehe |
very nice, i love doing kits but i would have to start very early cuz once i start i cant stop.
|
LOL I'm the same way once I start I just cant stop till I get it done.:005:
Looking good it seems you have just about everything covered check out Jammins web site and you can get some good set up info the pro's use on various types of tracks for the CR diff oils and shock position and oil weight's ect.:027: |
Thanks for the tip IB, I already have ;). I got the national's set-up, but I'm going stock first to get a feel for it.
|
Do the Ofna CR kits usually come with that great looking carry bag? My kit is a Hong Nor kit (straight from factory, not via Ofna USA) and it didn't! Oh well. :)
The Ofna chassis looks a little different to mine too, interesting. (edit: oops, just my eyes! they're the same) Is your's the Factory Team edition with the alloy rear toe-in plate? |
No, mine is the original CR, which I bought because it was 100 bucks less than the FT which is being discontinued, and I don't need the FT parts. WHAT A DEAL!
Also: Guys, my bat mount plan has some flaws, as in how I secure them. Any suggestions? I can't lay them down touring car style because of the mud gaurd mounts popping up. Would Lexan be strong enough? |
YEY! More Progress!
Got my replacement diff cup, and I changed the motor mount so the motor is in the front left. I had to solve the problem of spur clearance however, and it turns out i had some hex spaces from my old old 4-tec that were a perfect fit! Just had to bore out the ones that went on the original diff mount posts. Just need to get some diff oil, make my batt holders and get my electronics! How exciting to see it all come together! http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u.../IMG_1081a.jpg The spacers: http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u.../IMG_1082a.jpg Better look: http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u.../IMG_1083a.jpg |

ohhhh, wow idk how u can live without a dremel LOL
but cant u cut that pice off, if u cut that other part, whats different? or does it not cut clean? |
It doesn't cut clean, and I don't have a mask, so graphite dust is a concern, and I still want a blade left on my scissors, lol. I'm not really trying to make it pretty yet, just want everything together first, ya know?
|
Got the shocks on today. By far the BEST and easiest shocks I've ever assembled. Just the dust boots are probably the most annoying thing I've ever had to deal with besides stripped screws.
|
You need to ask for a Dremel for your birthday!!!
|
lol, that's impossible. how do you think I'm getting the elecs? oh, wait, from my summer job. I wish I was a spoiled rotten kid :(. lol
|
Me too!
