It's a Nissan 720 (hence my screen name).

I'll be out riding this weekend. Finally get a chance to test out my new pipe.

Is that going to be a turbo motor in the Nissan pickup truck?
Looks like a fun project. I have a built 92 GMC Typhoon that I have a lot of time into as well.

Wait a minute; where are the BL motor(s) or the batteries?!

BTW: How do you like those tires? I have the same ones (225/40R18) on my car and think they are horrible on wet pavement, but work ok on dry.

mach1stang 08.30.2007 11:10 AM

hey are you a member at atvriders.com? i think i have seen a quad just like it.

That's the plan... but looking at my budget right now and all my other projects I think I will get it running first then work the turbo parts.

I always wanter a Typhoon... but too much money.

BrianG - The tires have the best wear... i've tried Nitto's and Falkens (worst tires)... I also had some Proxxes before... but these T1S are the best by far... Nitto's had alittle better grip but wore to fast.

Mach1stang - Nope... I'm mostly on yfztech.com and I'm registered on yfzcentral but don't go there as often. My bike has the 720 number plates on the rear fenders.

Typhoons are awesome...My dad has a Syclone. Unfortunately he's gonna sell it. :/

Do you know of somebody that makes bigger turbos for them?

no mods 08.30.2007 05:21 PM

every turbo manufacturer out there.

nis720 08.30.2007 05:26 PM

I'm going to see if it's possible to install a stock STI turbo on my engine (the Flange is my main concern). I might get one free... my Bro-in-law is thinking of upgrading his and offered it to me when he does.

I had to tow his car to the shop..... fried computer.

Not so much really...It would definately need to be a bolt on since the truck is so rare (only 2,995 were made), and since the low production numbers, not many people make turbos for them. As I said, I know it would be possible to make alot of them work, but it has to be a bolt on to even consider.

Nice Nissan! I have a 95 200sx that had a full JDM front end conversion but i got into an accident. Now i have a 95 Sentra GXE 4dr that the SR20 will go into. I just put some money into the motor so i had to keep it going. It was decently fast for what it is, all NA with not so aggressive cams.

That 200 is so SEXY and I love the plate, lol

mach1stang 08.30.2007 09:57 PM

i am not much for imports but they are fun to watch in the pro import class, i am a american guy, me and my dad have a pro street 1969 mach 1 mustang, it has a 351 out to 414 about 500 donkeys on motor and another 200's worth of spray so it gets a good 700 800 horses on spray, at 3500 pounds it runs low 10's to high 9's, but it is really a street car.

supralover72 08.30.2007 11:11 PM

That is SICK Mach 1. The 69's have always been one of my favorite 'Stang years.

mach1stang 08.31.2007 07:25 AM

yeah, phatty patty is what we call her, they look like they got big hips.

snellemin 09.01.2007 01:03 AM

Yo Nis, I'll be selling my 720 in october to a fellow minitrucker. I can't keep it any more.

Your engine bay is looking good man!

just wondering why you built up a single cam motor. why not the dohc motor's. they are just as cheap too. and way more torque for a truck too.

For my truck I needed a rear sump oil pan motor (all 4 cyl nissan trucks have rear sump oil pan). The cars come with front sump oil pan.

It was easier and cheaper for me to find the KA24E than a KA24DE (dual cam).

I plan on Boosting this motor soon.....

snellemin 12.21.2007 10:22 PM

Man, I was wondering if you gave up on your truck Nis.

drkros3 12.22.2007 12:47 AM

the ka24de comes in the fronter also. so wouldent that be a front sump oil pan too.

well it looks good. cant wait to see it boosted lol. should be pretty cool

The frontier motor is rear sump oil pan too... which would have worked.
Frontier motors are harder to come by.... the single cam motor is from the 1991-1997 hardbody.

I decided to take out the Tmaxx on Xmas morning...here's an update vid with the new motor.
