Dafni and i will be around as well: for those interested, i'll be the one wearing the floppy shoes and the red nose.. (or the anteater costume, haven't heard about the dress code yet)

BrianG 09.08.2007 06:26 PM

Poo. Yet another year I'll be missing it! That'll teach me to get a new job and now I have to accrue my vacation. Argg.

Procharged5.0 09.10.2007 11:11 AM

I'll miss it too. I'm out of vacation time:oops: (I have a whopping 2-weeks of it) and my fiscal year ends 9/30 so I have a TON of work to do before then. :gasp:

Hope you guys have great weather for it and a great time.

........maybe next year.....

Hey Brian, wanna carpool to the bash in '08????? We can drag Jeff along with us!

jhautz 09.10.2007 12:04 PM

Looking forward to it. It looks like I will have something with me to participate in every class.

One thing Id like to see added is an unlimited 1/10 & 1/12 class to let the CRT.5s and 1/10 stadium trucks race too.

Procharged5.0 09.10.2007 12:24 PM

Are you going this year????

Sounds like a plan! Gonna have to rent a U-Haul trailer to store all our respective R/Cs, toolboxes, etc. :)

Procharged5.0 09.10.2007 12:30 PM

or a mobile home!

Race Central!!!!!

Yep... Makin the loooooooooong drive.:great:

I'm in for next years car pool too.

BrianG 09.10.2007 12:45 PM

lol, if we used a motorhome, we could pick up pretty much anyone along the way. If there is enough people, maybe a bus would be a better option. Talk about a party on the road!

But whos gotta drive...:oh:

BrianG 09.10.2007 12:52 PM

Whoever has had the least to drink. Seriously, if enough people chip in, we can hire a driver I suppose. Or just take turns where one person is designated for a block of drivetime.

I drove from here to upstate NY in one 20 hour trip (with BR and food stops of course) straight. So, by bus, that's a 2 day trip.

Dafni 09.10.2007 12:52 PM

I don't know about next year. I doubt I can be there again... been here this year for the second in a row. (missed it last year, but flew over shortly after)
Anyways, I can be there this year. All that matters for now.

See you soon!

J, your body survived the flight too!

Daf

I posted this in a similar thread; when everyone arrives, a group picture should be taken of all the RCM forum members and posted here...

Sweet! Cant wait to see it.

Serum 09.13.2007 09:40 AM

You will be surprised!

I've seen it, and it's amazing..

Finnster 09.15.2007 09:23 AM

I ran at the track Fri night. They redid the track that afternoon, and its a killer. Very very fast, with a huge triple on a straightaway. The bugges and truggies running there were flying. All the track regulars loved the track and said how fast and agressive it was.The soil is also nice and soft and slightly wet. Should be an awesome day of racing. There is one other long strait w/ a low jump, so if done right you fly over a low section across the middle and land on the down side of the landing slope. If done poorly or slowly, you nose dive into the landing jump. Lots of spd will be needed on this track it seems.

For me (and prolly several others, hopefully:lol:) the trick will be not to wreck the car before the end of the race (or even qualifying.) After some very ugly attempts at the triple and some other big jumps, i decided my best strat will be to just go slower and not break it. My basher Revo w/ me at the wheel cannot keep up w/ the high flying uggies. I'm not a racer, so should be a very interesting day of driving (helluva lot of fun while it lasts tho.)

jnev 09.15.2007 12:51 PM

Have fun everybody. Don't forget to take lots of pictures.

BrianG 09.15.2007 12:53 PM

I think it's going to be a little lonely here today.

lincpimp 09.15.2007 02:38 PM

You got it Brian, lonely!

jhautz 09.15.2007 11:04 PM

I'd just like to be first to congratulate Mike on an awesome event. :great:Well done. The morning started with a little rain, but it cleared up about the time the racing was supposed to start and the rest of the day was perfect.

I think everyone who showed up had a great time. I have never seen so many brushless conversions running at the same time. It was nuts. Some VERY fast trucks and buggies.

The track was in great shape and was really fast (not me though:tongue:). Crazy HUGE tripple right in the middle of the long straight. Great layout.

The day went so quick that by the end I realized I completely forgot to use my camera. Not a single picture. But a bunch of others took allot of pictures (video too) so hopefully some of them will post up some of the photos.

Especially great to meet all of you who showed up. I can tell you that I for one had a most excellent time.

EDIT: Funny thing is not a single person looked like I pictured them.(Rene didnt even have his anteater costume.)

jnev 09.16.2007 02:16 AM

Good to hear you enjoyed it. Looking forward for all the pictures.

Finnster 09.17.2007 08:24 AM

Here is the first of the vids (and the best.) Mains were 10mins, vids ran ~11, so had to cut into 2 parts to upload onto Youtube.
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/l7tDtRJwznw"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/l7tDtRJwznw" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

RCMMike shows off his skillz

Brushless Truggy A main-pt 2

Be sure to visit YouTube to rate the vids and put them up on the charts. Spread the BL message to all :)

gixxer 09.17.2007 08:09 PM

nice video, looks like you guys had a good weekend.

jnev 09.17.2007 08:25 PM

Nice video's like I mentioned before.

Out of curiosity, were there enough CRT.5's to make a class of their own? I think that would have been very fun race to watch (and drive). All the little trucks would just get destroyed over that triple jump.

Actually, I'd have to disagree with you on that one.

I was at RCX (with MetalMan, since he lives like 5 min from me) and all day they had 1/8 scale buggies, truggies, and some MT's running on a track they had set up. They had a huge kicker jump and some were getting 30+ feet of air, all the while doing backflips or front flips. OFNA took the CRT .5 out on the track when it was their turn on the track (Manufacturers switched off demoing their vehicles), and the .5 was actually running down, passing, and pulling away from the 1/8 scale buggies, and was doing its own share of sky high jumps without breaking a sweat.

Its a tougher truck than one would think...

jnev 10.17.2007 10:38 PM

I actually was at RCX as well. The CRT.5 did do well, but I thought it got bounced around a little more than a car usually would. I didn't see it go off the big kicker though unfortunately...

We'll have to organize that SoCal bash sometime and get all the BL cars running together somewhere. I'd really like to see your CRT.5 run. By the looks of your set up, it should rip. You need to get it all dialed in and get us a video.

RC-Monster Mike 06.19.2008 01:45 PM

FYI

This year's bash will be held on Sunday, September 28th. RCDriver will attend and cover the race this year as well! More details will follow as we get closer, but I would expect this year's bash to be the best one yet - more conversions are out there, and the brushless segment o fhte hobby is really taking off. I will be practicing in the meantime. :)

entjoles 06.19.2008 02:22 PM

great news , i may make it this year now that my xt8 is done

jnev 06.19.2008 03:50 PM

You should have the RC-Driver issue that covers the bash to buy in your store as well.

Arct1k 06.19.2008 03:52 PM

Oh god press - I'm hosed!

cemetery gates 06.19.2008 05:06 PM

sjcrss 06.23.2008 06:32 AM

I hope to be able to come....but i will have to see , due to my sons pop warner football schedule......but if it all works out...I'll be there.....

jhautz 06.23.2008 11:43 AM

Good news Mike. Enough notice that I should be able to make it. It was a good time last year. Now all we need to do is get Rene and Daniel over the pond again. Anyone have any frequent flyer miles they want to donate towards a ticket for them? lol

lutach 06.23.2008 12:16 PM

If I make it, you guys can't laugh at my poor driving skills .
