Gorilla Maxx E-revo

heres an idea for you guys
Gmax should like design a E-chassis for a revo
it should accept the E-maxx Tranny case a place for a reciever
a shifting servo, steering servo and the EVX
the chassis will be low CG and the batt are low too
alot of poeople would buy that chassis

Serum 06.27.2005 02:34 AM

It would be rather complicated to make a chassis like that, beacause of the suspension.

Serum 06.27.2005 02:36 AM

I just found another thread, it's allready done.. :D

Shadow350Z 06.27.2005 04:01 AM

i kno but that looks cheaply made(no offense)
i rather have a trusted company make a electric conversion

RC-Monster Mike 06.28.2005 12:21 AM

Sit tight, folks. In a short period of time, there will be a couple options available. Nice idea on the g-maxx chassis, too :)

makaveli 06.30.2005 10:42 PM

hmmmm what kind of options ............................ ?

C.H.U.D. 07.01.2005 12:10 PM

I don't have a Revo so I'm just guessin...

If you're already rolling w/ a g-maxx chassis (w/ brushless and lipo, of course), would not the real advantage of the Revo be the suspension and front/rear end components?

Seems like the articulation (bump steer?), suspension, and durability are improved.

Maybe I should just ask it this way, what's the real advantage of the Revo over stock and/or aftermarket Maxx products?

RC-Monster Mike 07.01.2005 12:15 PM

You got it. The suspension is the primary advantage.

Sweet, I'll look forward to the "kit" coming out... ;)

Shadow350Z 07.01.2005 05:52 PM

wait im confused
mike designing sumthing fo the E-maxx?

Serum 07.01.2005 06:02 PM

I think Mike means the Revo.

Shadow350Z 07.02.2005 02:10 AM

oh so like a chassis for the revo?

Serum 07.02.2005 02:23 AM

I don't know? In order of this topic i guess it is a conversion for the revo.

RC-Monster Mike 07.02.2005 09:24 AM

Electric truck with Revo suspension I guess is an accurate way of putting it. You could call it an electric revo conversion, or a revo suspension conversion to the maxx I guess.

Shadow350Z 07.02.2005 04:17 PM

nice nice!
cuz i dont wanna buy a revo to make for teh chassis
or buy all the parts for the front part and the rear...

J Cates 07.02.2005 04:20 PM

should i go with a fiegao or a Lehner

Im getting a brushless setup and was wondering what is the best and fastest to go with?

Not bad... WHAT! $549!

Can't wait for this kit Mike, got any preview pictures?

J Cates 07.02.2005 04:27 PM

should i go with Fiegao or lehner

im getting a brushless setup and need to know what the fastest would be?

RC-Monster Mike 07.02.2005 05:01 PM

For a preview, look at Dafnis truck. I am going to put together a few like his for the folks that don't have the ability or desire to craft their own for now. In the very near future, though, there will be a sweet conversion available. Sorry, though, I can't post pictures until it is further along in its development and testing(I know, I am a tease!).

J Cates:

What vehicle? What cell count? Tires/wheels? Help me help you. There are several motor combos available with advantages and disadvantages to each, depending on your goals.

Dafni 07.02.2005 05:20 PM

Mike, you droped the bomb!

J Cates 07.02.2005 05:27 PM

stock emaxx

RC-Monster Mike 07.02.2005 06:07 PM

8l on 12 cells with a 9920 warrior will be a monster on 12 cells, as will the lehner basic xl3100 or 2800 motor. For 12-14 cell operation, go with the 9L or xl2800 motor.

I'm sure the Evil Genius (RC Mike) lol... will come up with something that will get you hot and bothered.... ;)

LOL

Rene, some guys just like their RC's way to much. :L:

But I agree, the BL Revo will give you sleepless nights.

squeeforever 07.05.2005 02:18 PM

how does a stock revo perform? i just got one off the internet and cant wait to get it. dafni what did you have to do to convert it to brushless? i can see the obvious but was there any thing like driveshaft problems, ect.?

Dafni 07.05.2005 04:08 PM

Squee, good to hear. Go for it! The conversion I did was pretty easy and straight-forward. Check my thread in the Revo section, almost everything has been discussed there. No special problems whatsoever. For the Ti centershafts I used ask Mike.

I think the stock (BL, that is :p) Revo handles great and is a tuff truck. Lot's of easy adjustment possibilities, and IMO easier to drive than a stock Maxx.

squeeforever 07.05.2005 08:49 PM

thats good to here. i might have to leave it stock:M:.

Dafni 07.06.2005 01:43 AM

I think you will get a lot of fun out of a stock BL Revo. Especially the front and rear driveshafts make a very good impression.

squeeforever 07.06.2005 01:00 PM

when i say stock i mean nitro. :M:

Dafni 07.06.2005 02:22 PM

:L: What's Nitro??

Can't help you there, never ever had a stock Revo. But I guess they are tuff.

crazyjr 07.09.2005 10:01 PM

Hey squee, I have a stock revo and i will tell you. It is the best handling MT next to a truggy you can ever buy JMO

squeeforever 07.09.2005 10:03 PM

cool, thats what ive been hearing and cant wait to get mine.

coolhandcountry 07.10.2005 07:30 AM

What if you build some new skids and top plates for a gmaxx chassis. Would you be able to hook the revo suppension to the gmaxx xbrace. I may have to look into this. Always want better handling. I don't have no revo parts to try.

squeeforever 07.10.2005 01:34 PM

im going to look at it and see what i can do to it. tools arent of any shortage, so my revo will definately be a evo soon enough im going to look into lowering the batteries but i dont know about that.

crazyjr 07.11.2005 11:36 AM

The tranny doesn't need to be lowered. if you look at the driveshafts they are level, besides it would interfere with the steering

any time frame for the conversion? thinking of attemping to do one myself but if a frame or kit is going to be made soon I would just go that route.

RC-Monster Mike 08.01.2005 10:33 PM

No definate time frame, but very soon. I will bring a prototype to the Monster Madness race. They should be available soon after that.

nitrostarter 08.01.2005 10:40 PM

Man, why does Monster Madness have to be soo far away?
