My kliiMaxx

Hi all!

I have put some parts in my maxx..

-3.3 conversion
-FLM diff cups
-FLM bulkheads
-FLM skidplates(f/c/r)
-Traxxas big bore aluminium shocks
-Integy's aluminium shock tower's
-MGM 16018 esc with fans
-BK wanderer 20XL06 motor
-Maxamps 2s 8000mah lipos ( 2pcs )

So this is my setup now..i will buy gorillamaxx set someday..

I have ordered Lehner 1940/6 motor to my maxx...cause bk will heat up too much even i have short gearing. What should run be with setup i use now?in series?I wonder if i order 3s lipos(8000mah) and run them in parallel connection...probably enough speed but longer run time

pic's coming ...

Serum 09.29.2007 04:53 AM

Welcome to the forum Hotti;
Your setup is very hot! that 6XL motor will get hot rather soon; use a tempgun to know what temperature it's running at, the 7XL is hot on 4S, so the 6XL will be even hotter.

I ran my 7XL on 3S and it was great fun for bashing. (and the temps where fine too)

This might be an interesting read;

Hotti 09.29.2007 05:57 AM

Ok..i will read that..

I have now 18T/64T gearing.I use venom smart temp.Yesterday i ran whole batteries and venom says that temps were 49'c.Not hot at all:wink:

Hotti 09.30.2007 10:17 AM

Boy, you have a lot of power it this.....Cool vid!

Hotti 09.30.2007 11:53 AM

Thx mate..

mkrusedc 10.06.2007 03:44 PM

Sweet!!!!!!! Those are some mad driving skills. What settings are you using on the speed controller?

suicideneil 10.06.2007 09:46 PM

I am seriously impressed by that truck. When you are doing speed runs like that I would say lower the suspension as much as possible, should help with stability and cut down on the wheelies a tiny bit. You are going to need a bigger wheelie bar though, that is some crazy power....

Hotti 10.07.2007 01:37 AM

Thx mates..more power to come with lehner 1940/7 :whip:

Esc setting:

Car mode <->
light brake
auto timing
reduce rpm
4s li-xx
free wheel
no brake at neutral
no auto correction

Like that...Yesterday with 20XL07 feigao the temps where about 50'c...:diablo:

suicideneil 10.07.2007 08:57 AM

50*c, thats cool as a cucumber. You've had no issue with setting up the MGM correctly or cogging etc I take it?

Hotti 10.07.2007 09:32 AM

Ömm?Could tell it "easier" cause my bad english skill?

suicideneil 10.07.2007 12:32 PM

 I mean, you had no problems programming the speed control or anything like that?

Hotti 10.07.2007 01:19 PM

Hehe...ok neil..now even I get it :yipi:

But but..

I had some major problems with esc at the beginning..

First it worked ok(the very first run). Then i tryed to programmed it to use with nimh cells. When i put nimh's on and turn the power on esc starts to beep beep beep....beep all the time.Even i put the default setting in it still beeped.

But when i had put default in about ten time in row it started to workin :yipi:..Now if i have run with lipos,i programmed it with lipos to use nimhs.then when i have drived with nimhs and want to use lipos i program it with nimhs. This way it works perfectly.Love the esc.

First i programmed it with transmitter, but now i have usbcom+ and CC02 cable so I can do it now with pc :whip:Much easier and safer.

So..

I have had problems with rear driveshaft's..they wont hold on..wonder why   :whip:..Well..i had revo some time ago and had some parts left on it.So i modded revos drive shaft to fit my kliimaxx on the rear..Revos are much stronger, hope that will hold.

Pics with mod maybe tomorrow.

suicideneil 10.08.2007 11:39 AM

It seems alot of people are having issues programming the MGM esc, so you are not alone. As for driveshafts, the stock emaxx ones dont last very long as you discovered- tmaxx 3.3 shafts, knuckles and turn buckles should be fine though.

mkrusedc 10.08.2007 11:42 AM

If you use the USB cables and program the MGM speed controller through your computer it is very easy. my .02 cents

Hotti 10.08.2007 12:04 PM

Thx for replies guys..

I allready have 3.3 conversion but now I installed the 3.3 driveshaft's too.
Not too much work need's to be done to fit driveshaft's...

Here some pics:

Hotti 10.08.2007 12:28 PM

Btw..What parts you guys recommend if i want to bullet proof my maxx but still keep it "light"?
I have thinked gorillamxx chassis...But does it increase weight??
Allready done:
-FLM diff cups
-3.3 conversion
-3.3 aluminium tube turnbuckles
-FLM skidplates f/c/r
-FLM f/r bulkheads
-Traxxas big bore aluminium shocks

So should i go with gorilla?Or with stock with some alu parts?

suicideneil 10.09.2007 06:14 PM

Hmm, tough call. The G3 chassis doesnt add that much weight I dont reckon, and it also has the benefit of lowering the centre of gravity which makes for more stable handling- but not as much ground clearance. One possiblilty is to swap the stock emaxx chassis for a t-maxx chassis, and make just a few mods to fit battery trays/straps. That would keep your ground clearance for bashing, and add alot of strength too.

mkrusedc 10.09.2007 07:40 PM

So far I have been using a stock chassis without a problem. I am getting ready to install aluminum bulks so I might not be able to say "without a problem" for long. The G-Maxx and FLM are extended chassis and will give you a little more stability to go with all that power.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Nice pics & a very nice place to bash- I so wish there was somewhere like that where I live to.

rchippie 10.14.2007 05:32 PM

Nice pics .

jnev 10.15.2007 12:03 AM

Great pictures man!!

My bashing spot looks oddly similar to that. Only difference I see is that the sand is soft where I bash and is completely dry. But there are a bunch of hills and dunes just like that place.

Hotti 10.15.2007 11:46 PM

Thx guys!!

so the revo 3.3 driveshaft didn't last:lol: It's not brake yet but the yokes are like screw's ..Hopefully i get today traxxas steel driveshaft's!

suicideneil 10.16.2007 06:48 AM

Man, you managed to kill the 3.3 yolks? That must be some crazy power and/or driving....

Hotti 10.16.2007 10:27 AM

Yep Neil...i think it is both power and driving..or then my slippery is too tight..

suicideneil 10.17.2007 06:52 PM

"my slippery is too tight"

Wish I had that problem:cry:

Hotti 10.17.2007 11:49 PM

Yep guys..i drive with stock slippery and the spurs don't last if loosen the slipper that much when it start's to slip.So i have drive with slipper tighten all the way...

With novak i was able to use slipper like the way it's ment to be used but now my system got much more power/torgue..so have to go with tight.

When i manage to get strobe slipper..things will be different.

suicideneil 10.18.2007 12:07 PM

Sorry Hotti, I understand what you are saying about the slipper issue, its just that when you said 'slippery is too tight' by mistake instead of 'slipper is too tight', I got a rude picture in my mind....

Hotti 10.18.2007 12:22 PM

Show us the picture :intello:

Serum would chop me up into little pieces if I posted a suitable picture; hopefully this will suffice:
