got my HV!
I got my HV-Maxx 2day
love it and im satisfied with the speed with 12/70 gearing didnt thermal or anything with 14cells gp3300s one prob tho the pinion screw kept coming loose how do i solve this? I'll post pics of my maxx with the HV on 2morrow |
Use a synthetic rubber glue or loctite if you can. These might help.
|
which would be best threadlocker...
blue or red? |
I really cant understand what do you mean by "blue or red"?!
|
I always use the blue loctite.
Thank you, Promod |
I use blue also. You can get red lock tight which I think has another purpose (comes in bottles the red...).
(Whats with the music video in your signature? Sort of annoying). |
I use the blue stuff, too. Be carefull with the red brand. There are some types which fuse your screws into the threads for eternity.
(agree with Nick about the sig) |
Definately the blue locktite. The red stuff is too strong (will likely not get the setscrew back out without stripping it).
|
Don't get any loctite (blue or red) on the inside of the pinion hole. It sticks the pinion to the motor shaft and makes it very hard to get off.....I know
|
Good point! A little goes a long way.
|
Yep, I learned this the hard way, too. Less is more, as we say.
In the worst case, a heatgun is your friend ;) |
dont need locktite no more
i got Robinson racing pinion and the set screw is different from the stock pinion setscrews so i jus changed it and it auto locks sorta by itself oh yeah does Brushless motors sound like sorta a whistle? louder than brushed right? sorry bout the music video Mike removed it for me i"m guessing you guys dont like hiphop |
|
Looks good!! Thanks for editing your sig.. ;)
|
Wow! Running it on all stock?
I wish I could run stock on my Titans but I can't, lol. :( |
Trigger Happy Nick...
|
this things quik!
i took it to my friends house and ran it he has a dirtpatch behind his house so the dirt over there is all loose so now my E is dirty didnt break anything so far brushless are lil bit louder than brushed ones right? |
If its loud, you probably have the gear mesh too tight. Mine is like a silent warrior.
|
Yup. Totally agree with the Monster.
|
uhh sorry but wuts gear mesh?
|
The mesh(alignment, tightness) of the pinion and spur gear. If it is loud, it is probably too tight.
|
ohhh
ok thx Mike |
A stock Maxx can hold up to the HV for quite a while.
But I would upgrade those tamiya plugs! One of the best and cheapest things you can do to your maxx. Quote:
Especially if you use the gear-cover, it should be pretty quiet. |
ill check the "gear mesh" 2morrow as i clean my Maxx
|
Happy ride. Remember to fasten your seat belt.
|
hahah k harlock
