Whats up with Bomp Proof Products?

Just wondering if the BPP guys will be building anything else, or making any of their existing parts again?

Serum 10.19.2007 11:13 AM

i don't see it happen. They advertised about their savage/lightning conversion for roughly 2 years, without any productive result.

Looks like another one bites the dust.

squeeforever 10.19.2007 05:20 PM

Serum, thats not really true. They made the truck. Hell, its damn near flawless. Just to expensive to produce. Even then, nobody would buy it since a rolling chassis would be upwards of $800-1000. Chassis and Pro-R would be right at $1000. Not now since the price came down, but at the time...

lincpimp 10.19.2007 05:37 PM

I thought that they did sell the conversion parts? I have seen bpp trucks that look like the one on the website. I guess that they sold all of them? I would like to buy one, guess that I am just blowing hot air!

lutach 10.19.2007 06:57 PM

They still have all the parts for the truggy I have.

Electric Dave 10.19.2007 07:34 PM

The BPP truggy was (and hopefully still IS Squee) quite a potent truck. I was lucky enough to have one for most of a race season and while it was a bit expensive, it was one heck of a ride and it dominated at my local track. I don't know if the BPP guys are really setup for any mass production but what they do make is quite excellent.

Yea, right before I bought Davids, I was checking into them and they were saying how they could make me one, as they didn't have some of the parts, and they just needed to get some CF. They did make a very few, one of which I have, they just never went into full production. I'm not really sure if there still willing to make a few or not, but around 6 months ago they were...

Serum 10.20.2007 01:21 AM

It took them roughly 2 years; and where is it on their site?

the revo conversion bombproof showed here. Where is it?

everything on their site is out of stock, last update on the site was in 2005...

Sounds like a dead company to me Squee! perhaps they produce some parts, but their site tells different.

lutach 10.20.2007 01:31 AM

The chassis that I have, looks the same as the one on the home page: http://bomb-proofproducts.com/home.htm. The last e-mail I received from racegrafix@aol.com, he told me he has all the carbon fiber parts if I wanted my truggy lighter.

squeeforever 10.20.2007 02:45 AM

Serum, I'm not disputing the fact that they seem like a dead company. I'm just saying, you can still get parts if you email them as well as the fact that the truggy is available if you really want one, they just never went into production due to cost.

The phone number was from his site http://www.bomb-proofproducts.com/Products.htm just scroll down to the end. Any businessmen wouldn't have a problem when someone wants to buy something. So please explain your opinion better so we can understand what you are trying to say. If he is not answering his e-mails and let say he doesn't answer the phone, maybe he should bring the site down until things gets better. I was basically trying to help a fellow member to get what he wanted.

i just talked to brian and he says he thinks he has enough parts for a couple complete conversions. the site hasnt been updated in a LONG time. brian has been busy making parts for 1:1 cars(his other hobby).
the revo did get made, all be it a SLOW process, but likie i said brian has a few hobbies, so he isnt on it 24/7

I would not trust a $300 motor underneath the chassis what-so-ever... But his work is definitely top notch.

Jeremy ni 12 was asking about the lightning truggy.

emaxxjeremy 10.20.2007 09:45 PM

ya that was a concern. there is a motor guard that protects the motor

No problem. I'm cool.

nl12 10.20.2007 09:57 PM

Thank you, I will give him a call tomorrow, those are some sweet trucks.

lincpimp 10.29.2007 06:33 PM

Just spoke to Brian at BPP and he hinted at a new Revo chassis he is working on. Seems to be in the testing phase at the moment, and he seemed optimistic about it. I mentioned that the electric segment of Rc is growing and he agreeded. He also mentioned that he does not have much demand for larger (1/8) scale parts. So we may see some interesting stuff from BPP in the near future.

Serum 10.30.2007 02:31 AM

that chassis was on here quite some time ago.
