That is really nice. They do really neat work don't they.

jnev 10.25.2007 01:19 AM

Absolutely sweet truck. Have you drove it yet?

captain harlock 10.25.2007 02:17 AM

A very lovely thing. You got a real beast over there my friend.

Dafni 10.25.2007 04:35 AM

Glad you like it!

tallyram 10.25.2007 08:47 AM

i drove it last night and i'm impressed. the only thing i don't like is the way the mgm likes to brake hard if you are smooth letting off the throttle. i have to let off all at once to keep it from braking. this is a truck i had built specifically for racing and with the controller slamming on the brakes when i let off the throttle it will be hard to race it!

Dafni 10.25.2007 09:09 AM

Hmm, that sucks, that MGM behaviour you described. I never messed with MGM, to tell you the truth, but there must be a parameter or something to change this. It should somehow be able to freewheel when you release the throttle smooth.
The way you decribed it I could not drive it, it would be horrible with my driving style like that, I need to coast and get on the gas again. It needs to brake when I brake... but I heard about this before: unless you release the trigger quick, the rpm always is where your trigger is. Might be good for planes, who knows.

Maybe someone with MGM experience can chime in. I am surprised Mike hasn't changed the setting, if there is any.

My MGM does the same thing. I havent looked at programming changes yet....since I fried my UBEC, and havent put it back on the road again yet.

jhautz 10.25.2007 11:28 AM

You need to turn on the freewheel option and turn off the drag brake option. Mine did the same thing when I first set it up. Make these changes and it will drive just like the other controllers you are used to. Another recommendation I would make is to set it to CAR forward only. The reverse brake thing is still a little funky on these controllers even though it is worlds better than it used to be.

Sweet truck by the way. You should be able to win a few races with that instrument.:great:

Definatley a sweet ride!!!

Wow, very nice!! So, can anyone tell me why they would go with the XT8 instead of a Losi 8ight-T? I'm going to do a new build over the winter and I don't know much about the XT8. Sure does look nice though.

tallyram 10.25.2007 05:07 PM

wow! i talked with mike today and we got the "mgm issues" sorted out. i tried all the things jhautz mentioned last night, with no luck. you have to program everything like you want, turn the controller off, then turn it back on and enter program mode and then go to auto program and then drive the car around making sure to hit the full throttle and brake ranges throughout the drive. done! works great now! thanks for the comments guys. this thing drives great, had all my nitro buddies worried.

2FastSS4U 10.25.2007 06:04 PM

Great conversion, is it heavy? I think this is the next item on my wishlist :mdr:

tallyram 10.25.2007 06:30 PM

its a little overweight for a truggy, but that is something mike had to sacrifice to make this truggy what it is. i'm sure you're enjoying that savage. very nice truck!

cemetery gates 10.25.2007 06:34 PM

Pretty insane! Looks great!..

Bye:mdr:

rchippie 10.26.2007 06:53 PM

That truggy is AWSOME :gasp::smile:. Mike's work is always awsome.

BlackedOutREVO 10.26.2007 08:50 PM

DAM!!!!!

That is one flat out AMASSING conversion, SOOOO clean, looks factory... WOW

I will have to say, that is the nicest conversion I have seen yet for truggys!

tallyram 10.26.2007 09:29 PM

thanks everyone! hopefully after tommorow i will have a trophy or two to show for mike's and dafni's amazing work.

supralover72 10.27.2007 12:50 AM

for a normal technical track i use 13/48 or 14/48. the esc temps are from 102-112, motor temps are from 122-155, battery temps sre from 75-99(the lower numbers are from a 20 minute test on asphalt running from min. to max. throttle with 14/48 gearing, the higher are from wot oval racing for about 10 minutes running 18/48)

mxracer 10.29.2007 10:01 AM

sweet , thanks for that info.. im goin to try follow these foot steps but to a hyper st pro.

watch out nitros ! bring on those trophies ur goin to get

suicideneil 10.29.2007 03:35 PM

Man, how do I manage to miss these threads? That is such a clean conversion it looks better than a nitro, in terms of layout and zero clutter. Another masterpiece by RCM, the Mr. Kipling of the RC world (he does make exceedingly good converisions)....

t-maxxracer32 11.05.2007 04:26 PM

what are the runtimes? when all out racing.

tallyram 11.05.2007 05:03 PM

i have yet to time it. next time i hit the track i will get some times! this truggy is freakin' sick on the track. so much faster than my crt was through the corners and i will put some new shock/diff oils in to make it even better!
