Thanks. I can't take the credit for the paint job...I had another guy do it for me.

Neu 1515 2.5DF
MGM 22418
6S 5000mah Flightpower

jnev 11.17.2007 11:40 PM

Cool!! Keep us updated on the progress. I can't imagine seeing a 6s lipo fitting on that chassis though... good luck!!

The chassis is just a hair over 17 inches in length...with the front bumper it measures approximately 18.75 inches.

BL_RV0 11.18.2007 08:04 PM

thanks!

OOPS! I gave you bum info:

The CRT is 17" in length

The CRT.5 is 14"

Mike's CRT.5 extended chassis is approx 15.57"

Is that a 6 cell lipo... I didn't know it is that small, or maybe the chassis is that big.

suicideneil 11.22.2007 08:37 PM

Big chassis! I almost thought it was a crt.5, but when you see the massive Neu motor mounted, you suddenly realise the vehicle is alot larger than that.

No...its a 3-cell...I haven't order the batteries yet. I am waffling between 5 and 6 cell....

No this truck is the Jammin X-1 CRT Pro (1/8)

However, I do have plans to build a BL CRT.5 using one of Mike's extended chassis kits...parts are on order.

Here's a link to a video that I made of the Jammin CRT's first voyage. Nothing too exciting but you'll get a feel of the power 5S and a Neu 1515 1.5D/F puts out.

Here are some pics of the setup. The video link is in the previous post below

I want a big truggy so bad, I love my .5, and I can only imagine how fun a CRT on 5s with a NEU is lol

Nice lay out too

satttheman 01.04.2008 10:39 PM

nice truggy sweet setup i was debating between 5s and 6s for my 8ight-t and 5s looks like it does the job

5S is more than I can control...I have a Maxx that runs 6S and it is insane.

Patrick 01.04.2008 10:58 PM

5s on a 1515 1.5D with 18/46 gearing....you crazy man!
The CRT uses 43/10 truggy gears doesn't it?
How much throttle were you using, because I put your setup into the calculator (with 43/10 diff ratio) and it says your geared for a theoretical top speed of close to 80mph! It looked like it still got of the line pretty quick, so it would be interesting to see what speed it could actually reach.

Those mail boxes you guys have in America look scary. In my part of Australia you never see mail boxes any closer than about 3m (~10ft) from the edge of the road, usually even a bit further. There's still wheelie bins once a week though. Don't let other people drive your brushless mini-t on bin day.

I was barely on the trigger! I will probably go down a few teeth on the pinion as it was cogging a little. Diff gears are 43/13 same as the buggy!

And yes the mailboxes do scare me too! This is West Virginia...and we are all hill billies here...most times the mailman will just drive up in the yard or throw our mail to us as we are drinking beer on the front porch! But seriously...back when I was into 1/10 scale stadium trucks, I hit one going abot 60mph...instant taco. Parts blew eveywhere....it was a fine waste of a Losi XXX-T MF2 kit.

Patrick 01.04.2008 11:39 PM

Buggy gears?! That would mean your geared for around 100mph! You have to get a speed run video of that.
Even if you go all the way down to a 12t pinion your still geared for mid to high 60's, which looks fast enough in that street. Should be able to break mail boxes with a CRT at that speed.

I don't see it going that fast. I think that speed calculator maybe a little off..but no doubt this truck would take yer damn leg off if it hit you!

Patrick 01.05.2008 12:12 AM

I know it won't actually reach 100 obviously, but it's still around the speed your wheels would reach if you held it in the air. I'd like to see what it could actually reach on the ground.
The top speed you could get out of that setup would probably be with smaller pinion than 18t, because it would take some load of everything and let the motor get to full rpm.

othello 01.05.2008 07:06 PM

Just entered the numbers of your setup in the top speed estimator and also got 100mph. I'm speechless.

This thing must suck a lot of juice when accelerating ... watch out for your flightpower pack. This must be really tough for your pack. If you keep it that way you might degrade it's lifespan very fast.

what flightpower pack did you run it with in your video?

Still speechless ... :surprised:

lutach 01.05.2008 07:19 PM

Use 4S lipos. I know from experience, those kinds of speed will break things pretty fast.
