Wich charger???
I look for an Hyperion charger but can't decided between the EOS 1210i or the EOS 0610i.
I have a flightpower pack and a V-balancer, so the integrated balancer is not necessary, and i plan to use A123 pack in near future. So i think that the 1210i will be right for me, but is the 0610i is better? Thank you! |
Pssssssssssst:whistle:
|
well.. if you don't plan on using more than 6S, then get the HYPERION EOS0610I 250W 6S ... but if using more than 6S Get the 1210i
cuz the 610i could charge faster.... |

But the 1210 can charge up to two 6s packs at once...
|
the 610i is able to output 250 Watts..
where as the 1210 is able to output 180 Watts, and to charge two packs at one time, you'll need the 2nd LBA10..... if you charge two 6S packs with the 1210i, it would be 90 Watts per balancer/channel... |
Balancer???
Question? I already have a Superbrain 989 with a 10amp power supply, but I need a lipo balancer to go with it. What can you guys recommend? Right now I have a pair of 7.4v 10,000mha lipos and a pair of 11v 10,000mha lipos from maxxamps, but will probably have ones even bigger later on down the road:lol: I just need a balancer that will do a good job so I don't end up frying my investment.:gasp:
|
From what I've read (and I just bought one), the Hyperion LBA10 is a great balancer. Just make sure to buy the right cables (2S, 3S, etc).
|
I personally love my 1210. It’s great. I might be wrong so some one correct me if I am. The 1210 has more options in the long run. If you were charging the same battery on both the 1210 or the 610, by far the 610 would charge faster. The built in balancer is a good feature. The there are more options with the 1210 in the long run. I didn't think the time difference mattered as much as the options mattered. I also bought the LBA10 balancer. Great item too. I know I read somewhere here on the forums that there is another balancer same circuits, different stickers that had more connectors supplied with it. I can't find the name of it though. same price but more connectors.

Links??
Do you have links that you can show where to purchase these balancers? What on line companies sell them? What brand name are they under? Thanks Guys.:intello:
|
They are all made by Hyperion. Just google it for all the sellers an RC nut could want.:yipi:
|
Thanks.
Thanks Hickoryhead :lol:I just ordered the balancer with harnesses for 1s through 6s plus the adapter to join two balancers together for later use. From Pure Hobby all for $66. At least I can have peace of mind knowing that I will be able to charge whatever I get myself into with these lipo batteries. They said it would go out today in their outgoing mail shipment. Of course going through the APO system it will take anywhere from one to two weeks to arrive here in Brussels, Belgium. That's ok though I want to charge up the lipos before we go on vacation in December, and my 4.5 HV Maxx system is coming in this week from Tower Hobby. That one is going on my UE SuperMaxx. I won't get to play with it until we return New Years. I also have 2 pair of steel pinoin gears (32 t & 45t) coming for my twin Dewalt 14volt setup on my FLM maxx, and these motors are huge:yipi:. New Year will be fun. If that is not enough I have some electronics on my Xmas list as well. A Quark 125B, and MGM 160 amp, and a couple NEU and Fueigo brushless motors for the other two Supermaxx's:surprised:gasp:. Then I have to think about what I want for my birthday in Feb. Come on 2008.

Ha Ha Ha Ha
hell I am just getting started:yes:. Actually I started working on my first Maxx build two years ago. The problem was that there are so many different ways to go wtih these things that I just want to run them all. I started the first build with the Dynamite chassis wtih quad battery trays, and saw other options out there with Hardcore, UE and FLM so I built four different Maxx's. So now I am trying to get the electronics for each one of them set into play. Of course the stock stuff is pretty laim. I want each one of them to be a little different. More fun that way. I am just trying to get my feet wet with the Maxx projects. Once I feel confident that I have learned enough with them I plan on moving in another direction. Hellfire, Jato, XTM/ MMT, then maybe a boat or two. Have you taken a look at this Global Hobbies XTM/MMT yet? It is about 75% metal construction out of the box Nitro, with dual steering servos, and less than $400.
I also hope to do a project sort of like Sikes, and configure my own one of a kind (home made) project with a direct drive setup (no tranny). This s$&%@# is so much fun. Too bad it costs so dammed much, but that is what retirement is for, right???. anyway thanks for the help with the balancer gear:lol:. |
:lol:My wife () would kill me. Anyways thats what we are here for.:mdr:
|
Blessings.
That is the cool thing about my wife:angel:. We both work and I never even see a paycheck. It all goes into our joint account, and She takes care of the money stuff, but my military retirement is my play money. Most of it goes to my younger children (for now), but the part that I receive right now goes towards this hobby. So I have orders going out every month. That is my vice in life. I don't smoke, drink, do drugs or any of that crapp, and I am at home every night, so there is no complaining to do. Our surroundings at home is our little paridise getaway. We have everything we could want or need so I love hanging out at home. I have one of our four bedrooms set up as a hobby shop and when I am in the mood that is where I hang out for the evening or over the weekend. No muss no fuss. Life is good:lol:. When I need cash I call her my sugar Mama:whistle:, but we do most of our material shopping over the internet, because we live overseas. With the size of our family Santa will probably deliver most if not all of my wishes this year. It took a long time to get here, but I have finally arrived. Now hopefully I can keep doing this for many years to come:intello:.

If you ever need to trash some items don't forget me. Good Luck.
Sorry for jacking your thread Dave. Didn't mean too. |

the 1210i is awesome, and I do have one.. but I'd rather have two 610i networked together to have 500 Watts of charging power... :) This is good for when you have high voltage/high capacity Lipos and want to charge @ 2C.... 1210i is able to charge 12S @ 4Amps.... or (2) 6S @ 2 Amps Each... 610i could charge a 6S @ 11 Amps... so you could easily charge a 6S1P 5000mAh in a little more than half an hour(that is if your lipo is able to charge @ 2C) |
I have both and prefer the 610i. I dont plan on going over 6s to that really doesn't matter to me. I really just prefer the balancer built in and now I can charge my packs at a higher rate if I want.
|
Hyperion claim that we can charge li-po at 2C rate, but is this safe?????
I'am not certain that i'll risk to charge li-po at 2C:oh: |

OK i just contact FlightPower and they tell me that i can charge my EVO25 at 2C rate without trouble, but this shorten the life of the pack. They tell me to did it only when i must did it. For exemple, in race condition, when i've to re-peak my pack just before the race.
But i'am scare to do this with my brand new $300.00 flightpower pack:oh: |
Now
I would not take any chances of doing anything that is not suggested by the manufacturer of the battery. The first thing that I would be worried about is damaging the cells and ruining the pack. The second thing is violating the warrenty of rhte product and casuing one to have to bear the expense of replacing the packs due to that action.
Hence I would stick to the rates prescribed by the people who made your batteires for your own good. If your particular manufacturer says go ahead then what do you have to loose. Of course you paid for the product it is your right to do whatever you wish with them. have a great day. |
Polyquest post that you can charge their batteries at 2C.. and Hyperion advertises the same thing....
|
The 610i also charges A123 cells, if you're in to that sort of thing.
Personally, I'm thinking of putting my Triton2 up on the block to get a 610i. Sleeb |
one other thing I like about the 610i over my 1210i is that it displays battery resistance.

Yeah, after looking at the 610i and the 1210i, I've decided on getting the 1210i. The 500w charging is neat, but also dumb. :) You can't charge a 12S brick with it, only 2 6S packs. Since I'm wanting to make the move to higher voltages, the cell count is more important to me.
If anyone wants to move their 1210i, I might be interested..... Sleeb |
