Align 600xl in revo on 4s-6s.... what esc?
i wanna run the align 600xl motor in a E-revo with 4s-6s batts. what speed will i get with each? and what esc would work well?
I would go with either the Quark 125, or one of the MGM controllers.
well i was thinking about the MM and the polyquest 4s lipo. with a 30-50c discharge rate, that should be enough to make it really move.....right? i might use the $275 quark controller. but i was thinking about the kontronik jaxx 80-6-18. would that be a good choice?

what motor are you using?

I was using a Kontronik Fun 600/15, then a Align 600L and now i'm using a Neu 1515/2.5D. They are all working fine with the Jazz!

Interesting, thanks for the test info. I was going to try a kno motor, but if they are not that much better than a feigao there is no point. Just wondered. I do have a jazz 40-6-18 esc that i will use in something, maybe with an aveox 1300kv motor on 6s lipo! In a 1/8 scale buggy or similar size/weight vehicle. We will see if it holds up!
A 40-6-18? Do you think it can take it can take the amps without thermal issues? I think its a bit too small, i am using this Jazz in my MiniQuake

You may be correct. I will first try it in my tamiya m03 fwd chassis. I have a hacker b40 18s (2600kv)motor and will try 4s lipo and see how it does. I have been using a quark 33 in the m03 with a 4000kv 380 size motor on 3s lipo. The kontronic/hacker combo should be better! A jazz 55 would be better in the buggy and would let me run 7s lipo with no issue thru the 1300kv aveox motor
Yeah, a Jazz 55-10-32 would be the perfect ESC for your buggy
so i should go with the jazz 80-6-18? what motor if i run 5s lipo would be the BEST?

Yes the MM will, but not in a high load/high rpm application. It did not like the align motor and have seen it have issues with small outrunners in crawlers. I actually played with the programming on my friend's crawler and made it better. But it would still stall the motor sometimes and not be able to turn it over. I have had much more success with quark controllers for outrunner applications. |
whats an ideal motor for the jazz 80a esc on, say, 16 cell nimh or 6s lipo for a e-revo?
About 1600kv on the motor, maybe a 10-11xl feigao.
I was using a Jazz 80-6-18 with a Feigao 11XL on 6s Lipo in my HB LSP Truggy and this combo worked great :yipi:
I just got a 600XL but haven't had time to try it yet. It will be paired with my Barracuda 125 in my MGT. Hopefully these two will play nice with each other when powered by 7s2p A123 cells. I'll get around to trying it during my Christmas break next week. My goal is to crack the 50mph mark.
