Jconcepts gt2 body on CRT .5

got a new body for the little ripper!!

fit ok but had to cut out the rear shock tower area to get the body to fit low enough, also couldnt use the rear wing

i also used some bolink on road body posts i modified them to give extra height for the body

here it is......:yipi:

and the rear shock towers...

btw....i still need to get some 1/10 truck size tires, the ones in the pic are the stockers

t-maxxracer32 12.23.2007 12:37 PM

ya if you had bigger tires on there the truck would look freakin awsome.

sweet body though!

entjoles 12.23.2007 12:50 PM

Thanks, i will be getting some new shoes for it soon, i used all my $ for a xt8 off ebay, so it will be a little while, but im in MN. so there is snow every where here now and cant bash

Serum 12.23.2007 12:59 PM

isn't it a tiny bit out of proportion?

entjoles 12.23.2007 01:22 PM

the buggy tires really need to be replaced with 1/10 truck tires

unfortantly there arent many 1/10 scale bodies that really fit the ext. chassis

BlackedOutREVO 12.23.2007 06:00 PM

why couldnt u use the wing?

will look awesome with 4in tires =)

entjoles 12.23.2007 06:07 PM

the back end of the body hangs off the back to far, and high

BlackedOutREVO 12.23.2007 07:33 PM

RCM Mike uses the normal gt body, so I dont see why the jc one wouldnt work....

entjoles 12.23.2007 08:53 PM

i fits ok, but i could have had less issues if i would have mounted the body farther forward, but i wanted the wheel wells to line up as much as possible

the hood scoop made it diff. to mount the front so i added longer body posts all the way around

and yes, it will look much better with truck tires, i may also try a buggy wing mount, the crt positions the wing about 1" back from the rear axle so i would have to cut a huge part of the body out

BlackedOutREVO 12.23.2007 09:30 PM

Buggy mount?

Does it fit?

entjoles 12.23.2007 10:51 PM

dont know if it will fit, and if i could get the crt.5 size wing on it, but i will try the one off my truggy when it comes, will more than likely look out of place(size)

BlackedOutREVO 12.23.2007 10:56 PM

I pmed you

Actually, at the bash, Mike had a PL crowd pleaser T4 body(shock tower bumps are in a different location than a rc10gt body). The shock tower bumps in the body lined up so you did not have to cut your body and the wing still fit.

Well, I have a rc10GT CP, and it really doesn't fit(have to cut holes for the shock towers to stick through). Also, the one Mike has in the pic looks different than the one I have too... and yes I'm sure its a CP....

what ever body is on it looks much better then what i am running

i have been checking the wheelbases and it look like the losi mf electric is the closest to the right length, but i had already bought this body off ebay

this was meant to help others make body choices and see what can be done to make them fit

I indeed use the mega acncar10 motor in my crt.5 - I choose it because it is
smooth, small and light, and performs well. I haven't had any issues with it
- in fact I am pretty happy with the performance. I think I have a 14tooth
pinion(and bore reducer), which yields around 30mph or so speed - plenty
fast where I run. :)

BlackedOutREVO 12.24.2007 12:53 AM

But thats a XL size can, the mega motor is a S can really....

You could try, but I think it would run hot

I'm gonna be getting the ofna ext. chassis, and was curious what body people are running with it? i saw that jconcept and proline both make bodies for this truggy, but was just curious which one is better or rather which one is more durable?

So far on the jammin chassis, the body of choice is the new RTR body because its longer (the RTR comes standard with the ext chassis)

dark96 01.10.2008 01:42 AM

so i guess the proline or jconcepts wont really fit well on the ext.?

BlackedOutREVO 01.10.2008 01:47 AM

I know the ofna one does from reading in the .5 thread at rc tech....

I have no clue on the JC body, but I believe its short (normal size)

HBRC 01.10.2008 01:58 PM

Proline XXX NT body fits pretty good. The shock towers line up, no need to move body mounts, the front bumper supports the body perfectly.

Can't use the rear wing without hacking the body, I just ditched the wing and use the little plastic 10th scale one. I'd like to put on a scale wing.

the front wheel wells do need to get trimmed out. I'll get some pics up if I can. I'm not where my pics are right now...

entjoles 02.24.2008 01:26 PM

got some tires finally, 30 series, and made a battery hold down for my 5k packs, doesnt do this chassis justice, i also moved the body to allow use of the wing, will get a diff. body as soon as i beat this one up a little, i think i will get some road tires as well
