my christmas present

3 Attachment(s)
well, i finally took the plunge and upgraded my gmaxx to brushless through help of this forum. boy, going brushless is just ridiculously fun. i never thought my truck could go this fast. now, i understand why everyone raves about brushless power.

set-up:
-gmaxx
-g1 single speed with rcm steel idler
-BK 9920/8xl
-UBEC
-16 cells
-maximizer diff upgrades
-strobe 51/18
-countless other upgrades too long to mentioned

Congradulations, brushless is true power. Now start saving for a couple high quality lipo packs the power increase will be noticable

Wow. Strange.

BrianG 12.28.2007 01:38 PM

What's strange about it? And that from a person who deals in muppet pron?

suicideneil 12.28.2007 02:12 PM

We're all strange around this place. Is it just me, or is the tranny facing the wrong way on that truck? I assume the diffs are flipped too to compensate.

Or, he could have simply swapped any two of the motor wires. Much simpler and easier, unless you REALLY like useless tinkering.

Or have a Novak system, you have to flip the diffs if turning the tranny around, the wires have to be in the correct order for it to work.

I do not deal with muppet porn (not pron, Brain!), I deal with midget porn, much larger market.

BrianG 12.28.2007 03:15 PM

Yes, but I made sure he was using a sensorless system (in the pic).

And I spelled "porn" that way to foil any potential site filters (shhh, don't tell Serum I tried to do that). At any rate, if you DID deal with muppet porn, you'd probably make more since you'd probably be the only one doing it. Midget porn OTOH...

He may have flipped the tranny to provide more room and/or balance for mounting other components.

Man, someone always has to rat us out!:intello:

ncnguyen123 12.28.2007 07:10 PM

yup, i flipped tranny as i thought it was a cleaner look and to provide more room to mount my electronics in the front. i was able to reverse engine by just reprogramming the BK ESC.

next big purchase would be lipos. but man, are they expensive.

Not really. You can get a pair as cheap or cheaper than a good set of NiMHs.

BrianG 12.28.2007 08:18 PM

^ +1. Especially when you consider that the increased capacity of the lipos is more like two sets of decent NiMHs...

ncnguyen123 12.28.2007 08:25 PM

hmm, from what i've seen a 5000mah 5s from maxamps.com is $242. is there somewhere you recommend that's cheaper or am i not looking at the right type of lipos?

squeeforever 12.28.2007 10:10 PM

Maxamps is the last place to look. Check out Truerc.com. I recommend the 8000mah packs. Can't beat the price.

nl12 12.28.2007 10:38 PM

I would buy some of the Neu 5000 30c cells

ncnguyen123 12.28.2007 10:43 PM

thanks Squee. definitely alot cheaper. however, it looks like they only have 8000mah in 2s or 3s. is that going to be powerful enough for maxx? can't afford to get two to make 4s or 6s as this will be $250-300.

squeeforever 12.28.2007 10:58 PM

They have them in up to 5S or 6S I know, maybe more. 2 2S packs is only $10 more than a 4S pack (extra materials), so it's only like $140 for a 4S pack, I think (off the top of my head). For the price of one Neu pack you can get 2 Truerc packs.

I have a set of TrueRC (2) 2s2p 6400's and a set of MaxAmps (2) 2s2p 6000's. I run in both my emaxx, Evo, ruslter and stampede. The only difference that I can notice is that the TrueRC is a little warmer after a hard run them the maxamps. As far as run time and power they are too close to tell them apart while running my. I stayed with the 2s2p battery so I can run the batteries in all my RC instead of having a 4s that can only run in the evo or a 3s.
