That's a crazy mini-t. Surely 3s on that 6800 is fast enough. Can the quark take 5s?

Nice trucks though.

B15 01.07.2008 06:36 AM

Thanks.
The quark 33 takes 5s fine, it doesnt seem to have the heat issues I hear about from the bigger quarks.
This is on the way to replace that 6800:

It is very good truck . Really like the LRP Shark Factory Team Kit version as it comes with all the hopups including LRP only steel CVDs that use nuts to secure wheels and not screw as Duratrax version uses.

With Permax 400/4D and 2S lipo it's a beast. For very tight tracks the buggy is bit better as it's more agile but ST handles bumps way better.

It is best 1/18 truck there is in the market - even the RTR version runs very well. Ability to fit full size servo is a huge benefit (i run mini Futaba S9650 because of weight saving tho)

Also it's sold worldwide (Duratrax Vendetta, FTX Blaze, LRP Shark, Anderson/Yokomo MB-4) so aftermarket support is great and you can get everything that needs to be updated for better handling and durability.

jnev 01.07.2008 11:17 AM

Here are my two trucks at the moment. I plan on adding one more in the near future though.... but not sure which one yet.

Would you say its better than the Kyosho Mini Inferno ST? I was looking to get one and really like the Kyosho since it has sealed diffs, tunable with diff fluid.

The kit version (others as option) has ball diffs so they can be tuned more easily. It is clearly superior in handling compared to MI as an average driver as me in his first season keeps up with guys that have been racing 1/18 trucks for years. if i weren't afraid of the brutal speed I could be winning :)

MI is not bad truck but requires lots of investments to be competitive.

Also Mi has split battery compartment so you need to move motor to the other side to be able to use long LiPo packs instead of standard Mi saddle packs.

Vendetta also has 12mm hex adapters as standard, MI mas 8.something mm and has some issues with 12mm adapters and 1/10 onroad size wheels.

Here's a picture of my collection. I forgot an old Duratrax Axis that I haven't run in a while though.

JERRY2KONE 01.07.2008 06:02 PM

Nice!

Now that is just plane showing off:lol:. Nice collection JerryF504. Looks like you have been having a lot of fun. I just got my first Heli for Christmas. It is a cheapy though so I can start out softly. It is a 2HP Apache chopper with Lipo power. I did not want to spend too much until I get the hang of it. My boys have two mini choppers and they are really good at flying them. So if they can do why can't I, right??? Your trucks look great & we can tell that you take great care of your gear. Great work Man.

I have 4 SuperMaxx trucks under construction right now. I hope to finish all of them in the next couple of months so I can start playing with them. Each one will sport a different powser set up for my own curiosity, but all of them are built with that bulletproof mentality in mind. Nothing but metal construction through and through, with brushless motors, Lipo's and 333oz servos. These things rock.

suicideneil 01.07.2008 06:21 PM

The old TXT-1 project:

The Gmaxx project:

http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n...llaMaxx/81.jpg

My first was a Tamiya Madbull- I put a 17t Yokomo Prostock2 motor in there... did nothing but spinouts, but the diff held up okay.

GorillaMaxx360 01.07.2008 07:23 PM

here is my ride. it has changed a bit and is almost complete agian. I got the new quark today and hope to have it running soon. New updateds include(not pictured), new quark, cc bec, rpm skids, different springs, different battery hold down straps, new wing, and a new setup for the electronics.

wow that thing is incredible.... gotta see a naked picture of it!

also i have some badlands too... they are really nice tires imo.

lincpimp 01.08.2008 03:14 AM

My HV tmaxx conversion will run badlands too! They look to be a good all purpose tire, which is what I need. I run on blacktop, concrete, grass, and gravel, and some dirt!

BP-Revo 01.08.2008 03:19 AM

From what I heard Badlands actually aren't too great on paved surfaces, but they are incredible on anything else.

These are some NICE looking trucks. (Once I do a bit of tinkering with my trucks I'll post em up.)

rschoi_75 those are some sweet looking cars. I have to congratulate daf on the paint job on buggy but the others look awesome too. The .5 looks mean.

Note on the badlands: they seen to wear quickly running on the blacktop too. Definitely better offraod even though I didn't think they performed terribly on tar. I was actually thinking they performed well after what some people said.

rschoi_75 01.09.2008 04:57 PM

Thanks Tim. I definitely have a weak spot for good paint. I spend way too much time and money on shells.

Heres a action shot of my Revo before I converted it. I have a few more somewhere. I'll try and find em up and put em in a little.

gtxracer 01.09.2008 11:53 PM

Everyone who's been in the Revo forum knows PinkVo! She's getting some mashers, a good BEC, possibly a new lid soon, and I just slapped a Spektrum DX3 in her. Gonna try running 4S on her as well.

My MGT, mostly stock, getting some 40 Series Mashers and a nice lid. Running on a Spektrum system as well.

GreenVo, sold the other day

possibly another MGT
some kind of truggy - Mugen, Losi, AE, TTR - we'll see.

Nice catch tashpop, she is quite attractive (the gf)!

Does she still bash the pinkvo with you?

gtxracer 01.10.2008 01:33 AM

Yep, just waiting on some tires and other parts right now. And some parts for my MGT, haha.

rschoi_75 01.10.2008 01:33 PM

Nice gtxracer. Love the pinkvo... it was definitely a well documented build.

Very nice gf too. she's very attractive... but... does she approve of that poster hanging behind her?... :mdr:

gtxracer 01.10.2008 06:48 PM

She does and likes the others I have except for two. Both of them are very "male oriented" and that's probably why it doesn't float her boat. They're still on the wall though :)
