How about the xtm big monster truck? Looks good to me!
|
Revo 3.3.
|
the xtms idk. i never thought much of their cars or anything...
and i figured you say the revo. i mainly just want an ultimate bashing truck. |

Ok, how about an aftershock/baja, or a savage. Both of them are great bashers. |
The Savage is a GREAT basher, just a bit harder to work on than others.
You allready have tons of spares for a Revo, it's a great truck, and any spares you don't have are easily obtained. Sounds like a no brainer to me. |
ya usually that's how it goes
but idk... I could buy a savage then w the money buy the ssame amount of spares im thinkin savage revo or the mgt. just need to debate it. ik the revo in n out but buying and trying new things are what I love to do I've hd a savage before but couldn't get it tuned right this was a couple years ago and n.ow ik way more. b ut still it is a hard decision. |
How about 6 micro t trucks! Then you and 5 friends can race in the living room!
|

oh god no please never in your life buy that pos. i work at hobbypeople and i tell people not to buy it hahaha. in front of my boss too and he agrees with me haha. |
I would say Revo 3.3 if not some other Traxxas truck. Traxxas MT's all the way!
|

funny that you say that. i have 5 freinds and me who have either the micro ts or the desert trucks. and ya idk just the xtm trucks dont seem to great to me... seems like the revo is the truck with the most votes... hmmm |
Actually - I know not a full MT - but i'd either fancy swapping out my nitro revo out for a nitro CRT .5 or baja ss...
Think they would be more fun... |
I just buy the Savage XSS, it's solid as rock and very powerfull engine.
I've put Ofna full offset wheels with paddle on it, that's incredible:surprised: |
Yeah, I'd vote for the Sav too - I have an older 4.6SS. Once you realized these engines were air leaks waiting to happen and sealed it up out of the box, they ran pretty well, at least mine has been reliable. I've had to strengthen the diffs - alum cases, cups and bulks, but other than that, its just been maintenance.

ok so i get a bunch of mixed ideas...
here is what i narrowed it down to lol...... http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/14061 rtr cheap ez http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/6410 guaranteedto be a nice truck. i have a bunch opf spares. but ive had it before. http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/12428 this truck just looks badass. plus i have some big freakin 23mm moabs i could put on it for some nice bashing. http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/19254 again.... i like trying new trucks http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/7805 ss savage. id throw in my spektrum. i just am not sure. ill figure it out eventually i just like to have peoples opinions. |
If the primary function of this is for bashing then the savage is second to none in durability and it look slike a very nice price too when you comare it to the others you have listed.
That CEN truck looks interesting though. I dont know anything bout it but I'm a big fan of the CEN Buggy and Truggy. They are both very durable from my experience. I personally feel that the Revo is a great race MT, but its still a little on the weak side for bashing it hard. Thats just my opinion. |
ya the cen truck i just noticed today...
i sorta wanna get that or the mgt 8.0 just because not too many people have one. i like getting the underdog truck as long as its quality (im not a fan of cheap products though.... tower terror....) EDIT. so i looked up the CEN 7.7 right now on their website and it looks prettttty sweet. unless someone has tried it and hated it or have something against it then idk.. it looks like the truck for me. |
I would choose the Revo, mainly because you have all the spares and not to mention there pretty damn durable. I haven't really broke anything on either of my Revos I've had.
|
i agree on that for the most part.
again..... i just like having and trying new things. that is the ONLY thing keeping me from getting the revo. |
One of the things I look for when starting something new is LHS part availibility. It sucks to have to wait a few days for a simple part when you can just mosey on over to your LHS and get what you need. For that reason, I like Traxxas because both the LHS places near to me are well stocked with Traxxas parts and have pretty much anything I would need (at least the more common items).
|
Could buy a revo 2.5r :P, unless your looking for a bran new truck. If you want something new could try the savage, I havent owned one but I have heard they are pretty tough.

Must be nice to have a LHS around. The only "lhs" around me only carries models. Not even Rc stuff, he finally got me some trx glowplugs after two weeks, should have just ordered from Tower.:oh: Anyway as for the Revo, I have bashed mine pretty hard on almost any type of terrain and have not broken much, its a really tough truck imo. |
mgt 8.0
You know why. |
I'm w/ you tmaxxracer... I like trying something different. Everyone has a revo, and having something differnet is fun. BUt, usually there is a reaon for everyone having the same thing. It tends to be the easiest to support with parts and such like Brian said.
IDK pluses and minuses on bth sides. I tend to just get what I like. Its not like yu can go down to the LHS and get parts for your Xray XT8 either. |
Yah, the Cen truck is a mean copy of the Savage:intello:
Good luck finding replacements for it though! The other three (Savage, MGT, & Revo) are all great trucks. The edge goes to the Savage for durability, the Revo for parts support, and the MGT for uniqueness and power out of the box. What turns you on the most? |
i too like to have something different than everyone else. i think as long as you have other popular hobby shop supported backup rc's, choose which ever you want. if you can handle one car being down for a week because of parts i say get what you want. i've always wanted a gen/nem, especially when the 7.7 was released.
|
The Revo is a nice truck. I've had 2 of them and although I loved the performance, I wasn't impressed with its durability. I run my trucks hard and the drivetrain held up fine but the suspension just couldn't take it. Hence why I moved up to a CRT.
|
GTX, what did you break on it? I've never ever broke a stock arm...
|
I bent/broke pushrods including 7075 rods, a couple arms F+R, both bulks more than once, steering braces on both trucks, a couple motor mounts when it was nitro, and a few body posts. Granted, I drive hard and fast and I like to push things to their limits. Some of the parts were poor driving or some kind of collision. Others were from some real hard jumping. I ran my Revo through its paces and had it well built after over 2 years. I put it through jumps, ditches, the track, mud, and anything else fun.
|
TBH i dont care if my LHS has it in stock because everything there is SO overpriced.
i called today to see about the genesis and he said o no there arent any new ones out. we do have the one and only the one with the green body. its only 670.99 eff that. anyways. ima look more in debth with the cars later. see what ima do! |
I would do a savage, I have always wanted one, and there super strong
|
The other thing to keep in mind besides parts availability is the ability of the engine to hold a tune. Especially if you don't have much nitro experience.
Aside from buying a replacement O.S. for each, the Revo definately has the edge here. The Savage is not bad, not at the level of the 3.3 though. The Cen is a POS in the engine department. I don't have any experience with the new MGT 8.0, but generally the Super Tigre engines are good. All of them will need a good clean up and seal up followed by a good break in. |
i was worried about the CEN engines. but i figured theyd be ok.
maybe ill have to rethink that. not sure |
