Mamba Pro & Sidewinder Mini

Don't want to put the cat in with the pigeons but Castle appear to be planning a few more gems...

If you look in the settings DB for the castlelink software there is an entry for:

Castle Link
PhxLink
Mamba Link
Mamba Max Link
Phx HV Link
Barracuda Link
Thunderbird Link
Berg Link
Hydra Link
ccBec Link
Sidewinder Link
Monster Link
SHV Link
Sidewinder Micro Link
Mamba Pro Link
Hydra HV Link

:diablo:

Still trying to work out the settings schema so I can see what settings we have on the MMM! :mdr:

Arct1k 02.02.2008 10:15 AM

Interesting. Nice find!!

Serum 02.02.2008 01:59 PM

Cool. Thanks for sharing! is this in the ini files or something or is it just an available option in the software?

johnrobholmes 02.02.2008 02:21 PM

Sneaky Sneaky.

Serum 02.02.2008 02:24 PM

I think the mamba pro will include a UBEC.

glassdoctor 02.02.2008 02:40 PM

Now that the cat's out of the bag....

I've seen the new Mamba 35 or whatever it's going to be called. It's pretty sweet.. has a nice hardcase and heatsink just like the MMM

It's supposed to be "awesome"...

:D

Takedown 02.02.2008 02:44 PM

A SW mini and a Mamba Pro would be sweet! I wonder what Castle's up to though...

rschoi_75 02.02.2008 03:00 PM

wow. very cool news. glass, where did you get to see the new mamba35? Trade show? I can't wait to see it. I wonder what the dimensions will be.

Mister-T 02.02.2008 03:29 PM

mamba pro ?

a mamba (1/18) on steroïd
or mamba max for racer/ bigger spec ?

glassdoctor 02.02.2008 04:40 PM

I saw it at a race... where some Castle guys were there with contraban items ha ha. ;)

Dagger Thrasher 02.02.2008 06:46 PM

Oooh, this sounds good! Especially the "Mamba Pro", whatever that will entail. I wonder what the difference will be between the Mamba 35 and Sidewinder Mini? Maybe the 'Winder will be a lower-spec'd mini controller (like the current Mamba 25)?

I bet Castle aren't happy that all this info's been let out of the bag lol. Plus, this all goes a loooong way to explaining the wait for the MMM.

Arct1k 02.02.2008 07:41 PM

ahh well sorry

jhautz 02.02.2008 07:43 PM

Damn dude!! Nice hacking!!!! I guess that if they didnt want the news broken they shouldnt have released the software with all of that in it. But... I bet someone over at CC is gonna get an earfull about it unless they really are very close on all of it.

Should we start the barage of questioning when... when... when... to CC on these now. But at least it appears they are learning over there. They didnt put out a news bulleten as soon as the idea was concieved like they did w/ the MM and MMM.

I beleive its the sidewinder "MICRO" not mini. I'm betting its for the 1/36th scale stuff.

Hey Arct1k, I just meant that I bet Castle are kicking themselves for that info being in there; not complaining at you! You did a great job on the hacking!

That's a good point, Jhautz...you're could be right there.

crazyjr 02.03.2008 01:21 AM

Is this in the code of the castle link? If so, my guess would be because they need to antisipate the next series of controlers and the updates need something in the link to implement

Maciolus 02.03.2008 05:25 AM

In the same file they also mention Mamba25V2 and Mamba Max Pro :)

Takedown 02.03.2008 10:45 AM

I wonder if the Mamba-25 pro will have a "Real Case" around it. I hate that shrinkwrapped junk.

glassdoctor 02.03.2008 01:44 PM

Well... maybe there are several version coming.. or they just can't decide on a name for it... but the one I saw had a nice "real" case, yes.

DrKnow65 02.03.2008 03:42 PM

Mabey all of these options are just that "options", I mean if you had to develope software wouldn't it be wise to create as many options as possible with the same firmware? That way down the line if you were to make a Mamba XXXX you would not have to develope the software to support it...

Mamba Max Pro = 12S??? wouldn't that be the stuff!!!

At some point I would like to see a 1"x 1" mamba max rated to 6S that would replace the old Max in my 1/10th scale 4wd buggy. Space is at a premium but the spec's need to remain high.

I'm just hoping the MMM get's out soon and I can swing the cash to pick it up ASAP.

Arct1k 02.05.2008 07:07 AM

Anyone else notice that CC has completly ignored this on this forum and on the rcgroups forum...

I feel like downloading this software and having a look myself. Nice work Arct1k. It sounds like the 25 is being upgraded, it does sound like there might be a 1/36th controller too. The interesting one to me is the MM Pro. Is the MM geting replaced or upgraded?

crazyjr 02.05.2008 12:43 PM

I was reading a thread on rctech, that said that ROAR is rethinking the rules for the electric classes in off road. in the thread, there was a mention that Patrick, from castle creations, was in the discussions. I think the MM pro and monster max pro will be the result of the changes and will be legal in ROAR racing
