This is so tempting!
Found this browsing ebay- http://cgi.ebay.com/ESC-100A-RC-Brus...sid=p1638.m122
Im wondering if I mod it correctly would I be able to run it on a 1/8 truck? I know that it only has certain brake proportions so what could I do? |
Somebodies gotta test it.
|
I know right... Im almost certain it wont work though. Im pretty sure it wont handle the load I'll be applying to it.
|
You could use it in something like a Revo, and retain the mechanical brakes.

Indeed, it is a forwards only thing, good for boats and planes. There are much higher spec ones available which do the same thing, and some even have proper brakes- see Lutach's Hv voltage esc thread.

So do you think that this could possibly work...?

Thanks for the extra link's Lutach! I think I've found which ESC Im getting. I love the price/adjustability options on the 120a ESC- http://www.himodel.com/electric/HiMo...d_Control.html
Now that Ive seen that, thats what I have my eyes set on. |
Oh great... Both of the ESC's I want from your list are out of stock.
|
I dont think that speed control will work. I had the 80A version of that one(mystery they called it) and on a 1/8th buggy and 10l motor geared a couple teeth lower than recommended for that setup, and it melted the shrink wrap off the esc. It lasted 2 runs and it stopped working.
