if the leads on a mm-esc flashes and the motor woun't run, whayt coud be wrong. It's my friends esc, and he coud drive his buggy for like 5mins and then the esc shutdown for some reason ?

Does it smell like burnt electronics? Is the voltage cutoff set higher than the voltage of the battery? Have you tried a different radio, or reversing the throttle channel?

Make sure that the connectors between the motor and esc are clean and tight fitting. I have had a variety of issues that were traced back to those connectors.
